Scary stuff.

Unfortunately that's been happening since I was in highschool (and I'm sure before that). I'm afraid after Sept 11th it's just become even scarier.

Wow, Chris, I know how you feel. I work at a place that's open to the public & we get them once in a while. They never find anything but it's still scary. Once they did find a metal box with wires in one of the ladies washroom but it turned out to be a hoax.

I remember that, Mist...

It was silly. They didn't know what to do with us, so they just told us to stay inside the building...then later on in our next class they were like "It was because of the chance of an explosive device being in the building" and we were all going "?!?!?!?!?!".

Had a lock down once in 8th grade, too. That was freaky too...

::sigh::

::shakes head::

Scary stuff....

BTW, Welcome to the forum! :D:D

We got a lot of those at my former JC. I think we had ten in one semester, all pre 9-11. They all happened right after some guy tried to blow up another local JC. All were hoaxes. Flyers were handed out to us as we enetered the parking lot, letting us know of a threat and telling us we could leave if we wanted to.
The SWAT team even came in one time. Helicopters were circling everywhere, and the school was evacuated, so SWAT could do their stuff. A lot of people were stranded without car keys, wallets, etc, since most of use had been told it was a fire drill, and to leave EVERYTHING behind. I managed to sneak back in and grab my stuff before campus police started blocking off the classrooms. Needless to say, to rules about leaving things behind changed after that.
They're scary, yes, but at least none of them were real.

Oh, and welcome to MW! :boing: :wave: :D

We always had bomb threats at our schools, it was a nice break to go outside and get some air. They were always fake (they almost always are).

Only one?! Lucky. In my HS there were 20 per semister. It was a nice distraction, get out side play. Even got to sneak away during the line up. It sucked when they did it during testing, we didnt get a chance to make the tests up (or I skipped the day we did... I cant remember...)

poor thing!! those things can be frightening, especially aftr 9-11.

shee. . . .that just hit me, the new meaning for those numbers, forever now they'll mean something different. Gosh the world's changing.

at any rate, I remember how we used to get a lot of fire "drills" too. . . lol kid wants day off, kid pulls alarm, everyone goes.

but they always got my adrenaline going, alarms'll do that to me. I just react badly to them LOL
