I am wondering if this is an acceptable way of calling the watchtowers. I really like this way and it is taken from the movie "the craft." I looked at a lot of other ways to call them, but none stuck with me like this one. Please give me your opinions.

"Hail to the guardians of the watchtowers of the east. Powers of air and invention. Hear us(me)!"

"Hail to the guardians of the watchtowers of the south. Powers of fire and feeling. Hear us(me)!"

"Hail to the guardians of the watchtowers of the west. Powers of water and intuition. Hear us(me)!"

"Hail to the guardians of the watchtowers of the north. Powers of mother and earth. Hear us(me)!"

Looking skyward say, "Aid us(me) in our magical workings...reason for the ritual."

Thanx, mrzebra.

Why are you calling the watchtowers by the way?

i say "i call to the Elementals, guardians of the Watchtowers of the North, powers of Earth" etc.

some info that comes to mind in thinking about this phrase/idea: The Watchtowers refer to the earliest association with the four directions, i.e. four stars. Babylonian ziggurats had clouds and sky imagery painted on them, in a way of placing the top of the building close to the stars. each direction demarcates a portal through which energy can flow to the astral plane. sigils and other symbols traced in the air can also call the entities, associations, and/or archetypes of the directions. . .

I think it's important when working in circle casting to learn exactly what you mean when you call anything.

Watchtowers are in fact like those towers on corners of castles that hold watchers to guard and protect the castle. These towers are formed in a square, rather then circle. The Guardians of the Watchtowers are often thought of as giant strong men who keep watch - to keep negativity out and protect your workings. They are thought of as powerful warriors. Thus, if you're doing a spell for healing or peace they may not be the guys to call on.

Element - earth, air, fire, water

Elemental - spirit that represents and relates to element - ie. gnomes, sylphs, salamanders, and undines, or energy spirits

in my personal experience, the guardians and the Elementals have sort of fused together over the eons. . . it definitely depends how you work with them, but im not a very healing oriented person anyway
