In many respects I practice and worship differently then most folks I have read of on this site. While I observe solstices and perform rituals, they are definitely more closely related to Native American practices then Wicca or other Pagan sects I read of here. I dont keep an altar, mine can be found in many places I find sacred out of doors. I do however have found objects (a lightening charred branch, special stones, animal bones, feathers, etc.) that have been touched by the spirit world. I worship what I like to call The-Spirit-That-Moves-Through-All-Things, and it can most easily be seen and found in the elements. It is one, and it is many, it is all things living and all things natural yet seem to be inanimate.
On certain moments of oneness however I have been blessed enough to feel it through the animal kingdom, probably the closest I have come to seeing the spirt realm incarnate.
While I have been blessed with moments of clarity through my devotions I am curious of those who post here about their relations and goals to the beyond. I have read some who say they have manipulated objects through increased study or practice as well as influenced others, even if unconciously. My relations with the wild animal kingdom could be construed as a form of this I guess, but I believe it is through my own personal oneness with the outdoors. Animals read this from me and are general at ease because of it. I digress however, my question of goals and people/object influence is what I'm interested in, and am curious as to how many of you good folks out there do this, and look to do this.
Lastly, I am curious to know how many of you simply use parks or backyards for practices or look to deep wilderness for retrospections and vision quest. The Vision Quest, for me anyway, is the closest way I can get to the eternal and get just the smallest peek into the beyond. Hope this wasn't to long winded, but my curiosity had me rolling there for a minute. Anyways, hope all have a blessed week and Fall ahead.

This is a really interesting topic. I'm not entirely sure what the question you have is, though. You said
"my question of goals and people/object influence is what I'm interested in, and am curious as to how many of you good folks out there do this, and look to do this."
What goals, really, and what objects? Found objects like you mentioned?
Anyway, to answer the second question about where I go, I am lucky to live fairly close to the University-sponsered Arboretum. It's basically like a nature preserve, but for plants and trees instead of everything "nature" including animals. I go there a lot and walk around, thinking to myself. I really don't have a place to go for rituals or vision quests or practices or any of that; the arboretum is not the right place for that as any unwitting hiker could walk in on you. (besides, the rules include no "picnics", and I like to involve a small amount of food in my rituals, and I don't know if sitting there meditating for hours would be considered a "picnic" or not but I generally don't think they promote that kind of thing.)
I also live in an apartment, so... no yard. I just do my stuff inside. It sort of makes me sad, but .. You make do with what you've got. I hope to have a house soon... Out in the country... Trees hiding my backyard from neighbors and the road... That will be perfect. Until then... I make do, and take lots and lots of walks at the arboretum.

I guess my spiritual pathway most closely does coincide with Native American schools, but I also use a bit of Spiritualism from Wicca, Budhism, Transcendentalism, and Hindu thought as well. I'm just a holy stew of religious thought. Can't say I'm not influenced by being raised in a mixed Christian/Jewish household eithier.

What a great loss for the music world Nina Simone was, but she lived a full and passionate life that one can't be sad for. She was indeed an amazing woman.
