Hi I am reading a book by Diana Gabaldon (all of you who now the series, please join me in a collective drool ::Jamie Fraser:: :heartthro :mmm: ) and they mention freemasonry, as some kind of order in the 1700's ext.. What exactly is it, what'd they do and why was it secret? Thanks for the info!!

Hi Tempest :) If you go to the search function at the top of your screen and type in the word "Freemasonry" or "Freemasons" or "masonic". I know that you will find many previous threads on the subject, that will help you in your search for info on freemasonry :) Happy Hunting ! :)
