Greetings fellow seekers! I had something happen to me last week ( Friday ) and I would like your opinions and analysis (sp) of it. I chose this forum for a reason and it will become evident I belive. ;)
_____________________________________________

There is a tree I go to on occassion to pray at. It is in the Portland west hills and is a Wise old cedar, female in spirit. Under its base is a natural bole created by erosion, large enough for a man to sit in and crawl thru. A Truly magickal place to the trained eye.

Not having been there in a number of years, I took a wrong turn and went down a wrong trail resulting in a 30 min. delay. ( and found a KILLER spot for group ritual as a result! ;) ) So, I finally got on the right trail {I swear that thing moves each time} and after another 1/4 mile I spied it.

"There it is!" I barked to Mike

Just then, a LARGE dog turned the corner toward me! Mike and I froze and a SECOND one identical to the first came up behind it. As the hair on the back of my neck began to raise I heard,

"Don't worry none about them! They won't hurt a fly."

And an elderly {~60-65?} lady walks up and introduced herself. At that both dogs became Marmaduke and acted as if I was their long lost master. Upon talking with her I found out she had just come out of a coma 1 week before!! Against her doctors orders she decided to take a walk. She too hadn't walked that trail in years but didn't know why she chose it. "Too many other dogs." She said. She asked what we were doing there and I answered I was a pagan and came to that tree to pray.

Then, she looked it up and down and with a sigh said,

"Yes, I guess you would. (pause) When I was in the coma......... I dreamed." and walked away.

  :eyebrow:  Any ideas? I'm freaked out a little but, suddenly "presents" are coming my way. Had I not taken the wrong trail at first I would have NEVER seen her!

I should add, the person with me was the first person to ever witness a ritual of mine.

Thanks in advance and...
Peace,
Twig

Hello my friend...Perhaps by going to the tree for prayer was preparing you for this meeting with the woman...I will give this more thought, but I can say that your paths were meant to cross for a reason...Try looking in front you , sometimes the answer could be there.... if I come up with anything I will let you know...Peace

That is such a wonderful experience, Twig. I can't say why you met this woman but as Shaman0325 said, it is something to think about. I have met many people who taught me wonderful things over the course of my life. Some, in a short conversation, have taught me more than I could imagined. Even more than some of my mentors that I've been with for years. I've always said, there are no coincidences, no chance meetings. Everything happens for a reason & it's up to us to determine the reason.

The only one who can tell you why, is your heart. I'm not even going to try to guess, but I do know that there are some moments on our paths when the Divine manifests itself into the mundane reality with such forceand in such a specific way to us, that it takes our breath away.

I was in a bookstore, a long time ago, and I was browsing through the Tarot books. There was an older lady (about 50, 55) sat on a little chair, and she looked up at me, reached round and plucked a Rider-Waite deck off the shelf. She told me that this was the deck I needed right now (I was avoiding it actually, looking for something a little more attractive) and smiled at me. I bought the deck, and it's been the one deck I can read extremely accurately with, and it really told me some home truths!. I needed the nudge in that direction, and I'm certain it was Hecate, fed up with giving me gentle signs, and deciding to give me a hefty boot up the backside.

Whenever I feel I'm wavering, I think of that moment, and I always smile, and feel happy that I'm following my path. My Gods don't expect me to believe on blind faith - they know I'm too much of a questioning cynic at times! - and I see aspects of them everywhere, but this is the only time I've really been blown away by it.

Oh it's early, and I'm rambling. Excuse me!

Okkkkkkkkk.

3 pm-the same day.

I was painting an apt. in preperation for the next tenant. (thats why we call them "preps") I opened up the last kitchen drawer to paint inside and found a brand new screwdriver and a mini plastic "8 ball" rolled to the front with these words on the back.

"UNSEEN FORCES ARE WORKING IN YOUR FAVOR"

That puts the "presents" aspect in a whole new light I think!

Yes, my Gods have a weird sense of humor! (shakes his head),and gives me even more to ponder.

Peace,

I think you too were meant to find one another, I don't know if it would be in a romantic sense, or just a spiritual connection. I don't believe in coincidences. She saw you for a reason, you guys met for a reason. Kindred Spirits perhaps? Or... She just had a clairovoyant moment, and wanted to see what she saw. Either way I feel it is a message of some kind... Of something to come, or something thats happening

Twig, I think what I'm going to say next will probably make some sense. It may not, but I'll apologize in advance for sounding cliche or cheezy.

In the words of an elderly gentleman that I met by a chance encounter "Some times the Old Ones still walk the earth." That may have been what happened to you.

By the way, the elderly gentleman introduced himself to me as a druid and said that he was told to give me the message that I just shared with you. Kinda unnerving when for a few weeks before I was having dreams of the Morrigu and then they suddenly stopped.

Maeby that'll help you out.

Blessings. :)

I just adore the flame pot touch. It's so cute! If by any chance that sounded offensive, I apologize... I was looking at it and I could only think of my brass hanging pot with the spider plant in it. At one point I was contemplating putting a little votive in with it... then I realized that might not be too healthy for my plant. Can't harm the poor dears, it's just not right.

With that said...

Twig, I have a question for you, and please forgive me if this sounds odd or a bit too probing. At one point in time did you have dreams/visions of the following:

Standing on a lone hill with an earthen work wall behind me, I am gazing off to the south-west. The sky is a dull grey, like a storm rushing in at twilight. This hill is in the center of a wide plain, off in the distance, I can see one or two trees but not much. A part of me says that I am at Erie and I am standing on the hill of Tara, though I don't know why.

With me stands a large group of others, some are young and some are old. We're all dressed in many different ways and we all walk different paths, but we are here for the same reason. Amoung the group, I see friends and those I have never met. I can also feel the presence of the Tuatha De and the Ancient Ones. As we gaze into this storm that is rising, there is a feeling of tension in the group.

We are here to protect Tara and Erie, possibly the world, from some great and nameless thing. A cold, bitterly cold, wind rises and in it I can smell the sea and something foul. The voice of warning sings in the wind, the Vikingirs would most likely describe it as something akin to Rig Hemdell's horn...

This was a dream that I had since I started seriously studying Witchcraft and I have been having it even more frequently as I have been learning about the Tuatha De. I have met some of the people in this dream since last having it in 1999. It has been interesting, but some what unnerving.

Maeby you have had something like this happen to you, or perhaps even the same, and could help me make some sense of it.

Blessings to you and your own, teacher of the wise.

No, come on now. Ya'll should know by now that I DON'T get offended by personal questions! :D

Whew! Well, ummm let me start by relating how I met my Spirit Guide. In the midst of the Gods "calling me", I had a dream/vision. I was walking up to the Stonehenge in Wash. State.
Now this monument sits on a barren plateau with the most breathtaking view ~1000 ft., overlooking the Columbia river. There is only 2 trees in the near vicinity. they stand by the gift store which has a 5 ft wall curving behind the shop.

Anyway, as I approach the henge from the SW a robed figure appears from behind the outer ring stones. the sun is rising and is directly over the heelstone [?] so I only see his siloutte. He points at me and commands "You are ready. GO NOW!" Being it is out in the open now ;) That is a portriet of the Ancient Spirit that guides me.

That being said, yes I think we should talk. about things both new and Ancient. ;) And No, your not losing it. I'm hearing the same thing elsewhere. :eyebrow:

Peace,
Twig

Ok... freak out factor has been satisfied. :D

Twig, if you have ICQ or a yahoo acct. we could possibly chat through that. Just an idea. Anyone else who's also had an experience just as ... unique... if that's the right way to describe it, feel free to give me a shout.

You can find me on yahoo as cydira13. Don't let the name throw you off, it really is me. :) Aside from that, let me know if you have ICQ. I'll try to find ya then. :D

Talk at ya later. :)

Just a thought but it sounds like the tree was welcoming you back in a way that you would not be able to dismiss... Had that happen a few times myself. I suggest that you go back and speak with her, she has something to share...

Congratulations on your experience, that's great!
An idea, or point of view, maybe the tree was testing your stength and willingness to listen. Checking to see if you would stop looking, and if you would listen to that womans story and remember it for what it was.
Good for you and best of luck on your path!

Blessings,
Magestya
