I was wondering what peoples opinion is on the cards 7 of wands and 7 of swords I find that they are quite ambiguous and difficult for me to apply in certain situations
somebodys' ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hm. Interestingly when I went to my first deck to see those cards they were together. I have the 7 of staffs instead of wands. Swords mean conflict and strength to me, whereas staffs/wands mean wisdom and intellect.

For the 7 of Swords, 5 are crossed above a hooded figure and two are stuck in the ground. There are plants and flowers including one that looks like a row of poppies and another that looks like snakes facing eachother. All this under a waning moon. To me this represents conflict or problems, danger, etc. That could change from reading to reading tho.

The 7 of Staffs shows 6 trees in a row of pleasant flowers and fungi leading up to the 7th tree standing in the middle. The 7th tree is the thickest and probably the oldest, and it reminds me of hidden knowledge, the 6th sense, and relying on intuition.

This is from the moon garden tarot deck.

I'm looking through the 7's in my other decks but I'm seeing the meanings may vary from deck to deck or even reading to reading. Therefore it's quite likely that your 7's mean something totally unrelated to any of mine.

It might help if we had some idea what deck you're using and the pictures on the cards in question.

Thank you for your response. I was talking in general with the 7's I use many different decks and in some ways I do use the symbolism of the individual cards but tend to stick to concept of the numbers and suits.
I feel that 7 is in itself is so paradoxal that sometimes it throws me off even the Chariot causes me confusion. Although the Tower unfortunatley I know to well.
