Hi all!
Just to keep everyone busy inbetween the new cards I thought it would be nice to hear from everyone ~
Whats your favourite card? cards?

Mine are all the nice lovey, girly ones! ~ The Sun, The Star, The Empress, Temperance, The Ten of Cups, The Queen of wands and The Queen of pentacles!

So Ive shown you mine, now show me yours?

I couldn't pick a favorite card but I am partial to The Empress, the four of wands, The Knight of Wands, The Sun and The Star. I also like all of the cups since they usually mean good things in upright positions!!!

But most of the swords...ugh...yuck...especially reversed.

I couldn't vote because my favorite card wasn't one of the answers. :(
Actually, I have a couple of favorites (in the Gendron Tarot deck): The Lovers, 2 of Cups, Transition, any of the Ace cards.
Anyway, I think it's interesting that you don't like the swords. In my deck the 7 of swords is a good card that speaks of new beginnings and moving on.
And as for them being reversed.... I see reversed cards as meaning they don't have as much power. Therefore, it's better to have a sword reversed, because then it's not as bad.
But everyone reads differently. :) It's always interesting seeing another point of view.

My favorite cards are: Most all of the Major Arcana and cups :heartthro, I relate well with the 9 of swords, four of wands, 10 of pentacles. :)

I couldn't vote either, as my favourite card isn't in the list. I have to say that my favourite card is XIII, Death, in the major arcana. Strange choice to some maybe, but it is an old friend to me. Firstly because of it's traditional 'bad press', it brings out the rebel in me!! Also I associate it very much with being a Scorpio, we're always creating things, only to see them disintegrate just as they reach fruition. Just as surely, there's always a phonix waiting to rise from the ashes. Very wearing, but true non the less! I also associate with mystery, the occult, things hidden and not quite mentionable and so on and so forth. Could write a book just about this one card, but better stop before I get into the flow! ;)

We were only supposed to choose from the list - Gotcha Silver Venus. My choice out of those given has to be the Empress. She's a great favourite of mine, and I see her as part of that which I am striving to 'become' - the ultimate Earth Mother, who knows that she is both spirit and body, neither too airy-fairy, nor too materialistic. Both are appreciated, and both have their place in harmony within her.

Too often, when on our Spiritual Quest, we begin to neglect the material and physical aspects of life, as if somehow poverty and lack will aid us on our journey. The Empress reminds me that we are here on Earth to 'make manifest', and enjoy the abundance that is ours to experience.

I voted The Fool...Innocence and following whatever path seems right at the time is something I do a lot, and I identify it with freedom and not being tied down to tedium.
Silverwitch: Though I do really like what you said about Death. I'm a Scorp too and I notice myself doing that a lot, tearing down certain aspects of myself and things I do to remodel them.

I don't have a favorite card, but a favorite deck.

Dragon Tarot has the most beautiful cards in it, very well done pictures.

I'm also interested in the Celtic Dragon deck. Its a tad bit different...

In choosing a card, I'd say the lovers, from the Dragon Tarot deck.

I would say Death as well. though the cards offered were drawn for this post. Death, to me, is the opening of doors and the advancment of ones soul.

Otherwise, I would say I like them all.

Mmmm, definately a Scorpio trait. You might find it interesting to find out what number you are (follow the Numerology Anyone thread under Divinity). If you are a 'powerful' number, this can enhance the build/destruct syndrome. However, if you are a 'mellow' number, the tendency won't be so strong! :)

Hiya! Thanks so much for all your inputs ~ Its been great reading them :D I'm sorry to cause confusion over the cards in the poll ~ I just put them in there because I picked them for the thread, but you dont have to choose one of the other ~ pick your own!

Since my rather wierd weekend ~ Ive changed my mind and now Im tending to like the Hermit!! I know urr how depressing, but I feel like I need to take time out and withdraw my energies from everything and ponder on my life for a change! Maybe its the full moon but I certainly have been feeling very very different the last few days ~ Didnt see that one coming at all!! So self reflection is what I need!

I know this is an old thread, hope it's alright to post to it...

I'd like to say my favorite's are:

the Empress, I think this is because of the representation of nuturing. The beginning of something so very special and new!

The Lover's, because of the option to develope a relationship beyond the relationship, reaching for highter goals...(and i really like the Lover's card from the Astral Path deck on Bluecat's site. Gonna print that one out to frame.)

the Hierophant, this is a personal birth card for me. i do relate to the idea of nothing greater than the truth. And the education aspect. And there is something very deep about this card...

The Queen of Cups, being one other card that relates to me personality wise.

The 2 of Cups, I think this one is because of the balance, and understanding that comes with this card.

And who couldn't just love the Fool who began the journey that leads to the telling of it all?

Of course it's alright to post in old threads! :D

I have many 'fav' cards, but I would have to say my most favorite card of all is the Moon from my Paris deck. Both for the divinatory meanings and the artwork... this card's energies just blow me away.

Hmm. The Moon, the Stars, and the Tower from my Casanova deck all speak lots to me. it's the only deck I've ever seen where the Tower is a soothing card!

I love the Aces in my Robon Wood deck, the Star, the Empress, Strength and the Lovers in my Aquarian deck, the Queen of Wands (me) in my Hanson-Roberts deck, there are actually lots of cards I like visually. . .

is the Tower supposed to be a 'soothing' card?

I'm definietely drawn to the Hermit as far as personality. It works out nicely the it is also my Significator (sp?) when you add up the digits of my DOB.

As to favorite decks, definitely the Herbal Tarot. I've also found the Tarot Sutra (if I can say this here) amusing <smile>

Let's see..Strength, The Hermit, and The Star..and the 9 of Cups is always a nice card to have turn up..especially in the "future".
Strength..because I really do believe in finding that inner strength that allows one to overcome adversity without resorting to "brute force".
The Hermit..because I too like to take time apart from the world for introspection and reflection..
The Star..because we all need a little hope and faith in ourselves and our world.
and the 9 of cups should be obvious...

One thing that I recently found were a set a 15 one-inch high magnets of a Tarot card from various decks. Unfortunately there are sets for like six of the Major Arcana, and the Hermit, isn't one of them. I do have the Lover's set (wishful thinking on my part) and I believe they have the Fool, Strength, the Magician, and a couple of others that I'm blanking out on. I got them on EBay, but I think I've seen them for sale of other sites, that you can find by Googling.
