A thread discussing a ritual element is prohibited on the M&R forum if it happens to include a musical element?

That's pretty narrow-minded thinking for a pagan. Not to mention pretty heavy-handing moderating.

Thanks for reminding me why I left the pagan so-called community 8 years ago.

No, it is not "prohibited". Had you taken a moment to ask the moderators of the forum in question (ie. me or Rick) why it was moved you would've learned that it had been because it was judged to better belong in the other forum.

I apologize that I did not remember to post a note in thread about it. In the future should you disagree with a movement of a thread feel free to contact the moderators of the original forum to inquire.

Even if he was ignorant or judging in his first post, being ignorant or judging back doesn't help, ill. If you're going to be posting about something that annoyed you, and you go and do it yourself ...

Okay, guys. Let's all just take a deep breath. Seems to me, that this was a simple misunderstanding. I think that Doc assumed there was ill intent behind the move of his thread, which could have been avoided, had Myst remembered to PM him, or leave a message in his thread, stating why it was moved. She has even said as much, and apologized. Likewise, Doc could have asked her in PM's, why his thread was moved, before jumping to that conclusion. Frankly, I feel that his thread could have gone well in either forum. However, it is a well known fact that certain forums get more "traffic" than others. So I see no harm in his thread being moved to music, perhaps it will increase traffic there?

Doc, Might I make a suggestion? I've read your wonderful posts in Astrology, and I've listened to your wonderful music. Perhaps, and this is really just a perhaps....you could share your ideas/experiences with Magick in one forum (or whatever topic), and if you have a song which would go really well with the topic of which you are speaking, you could add a note at the bottom of your thread which states something to the effect of..."By the way, I have a lovely song which goes well with this topic, I've just posted it in the Music Forum". And go put the song, in the music forum. It might just avoid confusion. The moderators sometimes have a difficult time sifting through the posts. Often, they appear to be applicable to more than one forum, and we just try to do our best in those situations. I know that Myst did not mean any harm.

So before you leave this Pagan Community, could you just take a moment to consider that it was more than likely, all just a huge misunderstanding?

And Illum...i really don't think Doc is a Christian. Even if he were, it wouldn't be a big deal. I appreciate your defense of Myst, however...bah...you jumped without looking, friend. It wasn't doc's first post, and he just had a little misunderstanding. Nothing to get our feathers all ruffled over ;)

Thanks Danu.

I would have done this by PM, but you may have noticed that half the people who post here are moderators... who would I PM?

I did suspect Myst (for reasons I will explain by PM if she wants to hear my criticism), but didn't really know. (Also, I have no way of knowing how much power a moderator has here... so I couldn't necessarily assume that it had to be a moderator of the forum in question.)

And, Illuminatus... thanks for being such a good example :)

Well, Doc, Maybe at least this will help to clarify in case of a similar event of the future.

If you post in a specific forum, i.e Music, Poetry, History, the only people who can move a thread out of that forum, are a Mod of that forum. Magic and Rituals only has two moderators, Myst, or Rick. Or...an admin. Right now, Kaylara and Mol are the Admins who are doing most of the duties on MW right now. So if this ever happens in the future...first contact by PM, the moderators of the forum you originally posted in. Even if it was one of the other moderators of that forum, or an Admin, the moderator who you contacted WILL be able to tell you why it was moved. Usually, we moderators keep eachother up on whatever moderator issues we handle. Even if it means posting a note about the situation, in staff forum, so that the other mods and admins can have a basic idea of what happened, and why.

I hope this helps you. Now, if anything ever happens such as this again, you can ask your question in PM's to a Mod or Admin, and be assured that your question will be answered as quickly as possible. That way, there won't be such misunderstandings, in the future :)

I'm glad you decided to return/stay :)

You want a mismatch? Try a teeny-goth with a native Alabaman accent.

The sad thing is, she actually had the "goth" thing going pretty well until she opened her mouth and said something. **shakes head and shudders**

Then again, the Alabama accent really doesn't work well for anyone with more than a dozen teeth.
