View Full Version : But who to read for??

So, I'm no longer in contact with any Earthie friends and my husband isn't much interested in tarot readings... and I certainly can't think of new stuff to ask all the time- but I love tarot! I memerized all my cards and want to be able to get comfortable enough reading to where I can read messages beyond basic definitions (you know, like this card and this card together in a spread always seems to mean "x thing" will happen, even though they don't always say that in the book meanings) and be able to feel confident reading for complete strangers. I'm afraid as time goes on I'm going to forget more and more of the meanings and never be as adept as I want to be!

Can anyone suggest what I could do, even if it's just giving me a list of questions I could do readings for on myself?

Wait a few hours. People come in and ask for a reading a couple times a week (during the week mind you, not so much on weekends).

Believe you me, there's lots of readings to be had here.

hehe not to be selfish or anything, but you can ALWAYS use me for a gunie pig!!

I just seperated from my dear beloved boyfriend. . . he and I are planning to be "just" friends for a while, and I'm curious what your cards have to say :) Need any extra info, such as my sign or anything? hehe

I'm sure there are a lot of people here glad to hear u volunteer to do readings. there usually a ton of requests and if there is a lull u can always do a reading for me. Maybe u can tell me if Prince Charming is ever going to come my way.... I keep kissing all the damn frogs but without any luck

Puma Hime: I'm not really confident reading for strangers yet, but since you already let me know the topic I guess I could try reading some this afternoon and if it makes sense I'll private message you the answer I get, ok?

As for your suggestions, I'll check out other people's questions and try out readings. Maybe I'll just advertise that I'm the tarot reader without a clue! :) Hafta let people know what they're getting into! j/k I guess if people did let me know what they wanted to know I'd try my skills in getting them a reading but you'd have to keep in mind that I'm still trying to get cozy with it and might be off base sometimes.

So, just to keep a dialogue going (and because I'm curious), despite that I'm just beginning... (known how for 5 years, but probably only read 10 times!) I feel like when I read for others I can just feel if I'm not getting the right answers, and when I'm right, I'm usually really right... but how do you get that confidence with strangers who just walk in one day? Do you just say to yourself you're going to do alright and let it just be a faith thing, or do you eventually just start feeling it's right like when you read for friends and you're doing well?

Apple,

Whatever you feel comfortable with is ok with me! Don't worry to much about being "right or wrong" with a reading...the cards say what they will, that's what I believe anyway! The reader is just the medium. It's funny how you mentioned being uncomfortable reading for strangers...well I'm the opposite. For me when reading for a stranger I am more open and worry less about what the cards say and what I am feeling. Now when reading for a friend or family member it is sometimes difficult to tell them what I am feeling. I am trying to get over that and just come out and say it...but sometimes they react harshly when they don't hear what they want to hear! I hope this makes sense.

I'm best with reading myself because I'm more interested in the analytical process of it all (my brain is beautiful). When I read for someone I'm close to I worry that I'll have to tell them something bad, especially when they're a bit skeptical about it. When I read for strangers my main concern is that they'll over react to what it says... especially if the future cards are grim. I always put huge disclaimers about how the cards are a warning of what could happen and that now they know how to avoid things they don't want.

I'd be up for a guinea pig, just let me know what I need to do!
*little known fact... I have never had my cards read*

I'm open for anything! :)

shnen, just post your question in the tarot swap thread up top and someone will pick it up, usually, by days end.
