you all may have noticed i've come up with an avatar, i'd also like to use "pagan warrior" as a sig line under my nickname over the avatar but i'd like to be sure that it's not offensive to anyone here so, as the thread title says, advise and consent please. thank you

Sure, why not? I've often wondered why the tales celebrating the old heroes are held in respect, but contemporary warriors are sniffed at......... ;)

Hey, If I can call myself Doc Lemonade, you can surely call yourself Pagan Warrior ... you and I fought different battles, but we still fought for what we believed and were on the same side even. I just didn't like some of the things I was asked to do as a "spook" and then later as a paralegal (yup, I was a retread); you can probably figure out what they were and don't have to ask.
BTW, The new avatar is GREAT!

thank you, i'm going to wait a bit for others to weigh in with their thoughts, the ava is a fairly close characiture of yours truely, the brass on the beret, if you could see it, is 2nd legion paras. given to me by an old friend who'd been a legionairre and worn now in his memory.

Can I say something here. And this is strictly coming from a Californian.
Cha! Go for it, dude. The Av is like WAY cool and the title is, like, totally awsome.
Now from ME.
No problem at all. There is no offense taken here. This community is very loving and understanding. Don your beret, your avatar and your title proudly, Brother. You have more then earned it.
Now go have some Lem..
Well, you know,

thank you all, it's done and lemonade for all hands. i started this thread because i do realise that some of us do have pacifist feelings and i wouldn't have wanted to create a negative atmosphere for them. part of being "a warrior" is respecting and defending others rights even though you may not completely agree with them. again, thank you for your advice and support.

Even if you are using MS IE, it could make a diferrence even on the version that you use. While in IE, click on help the on About... This should indicate the version you are running. If it is anything less then 5.5, you might consider an upgrade. You can get it free at http://www.microsoft.com. If you have trouble finding the lastest and greatest, please let me know. I can send it to you or provide a direct link.

Sometime it is easier just to say "Reboot" then hang up. I'm guilty of it.
Thought you might like this one:
Was working on a PC once. I had dropped it in transit and it wouldn't work anymore. After two and a half grueling hours of part swapping, I still couldn't get it to work. I finally broke down and told the tech lead. He looked at it for a while then, turned the brightness on the monitor up and VIOLA.
Sheesh. It's the little things that get ya.

Under Tools, Internet Options select Advanced. There you will find Java VM. Make sure that the first two are checked off - there should be only three choices.

You should have some type of "menu Bar" across the top of your screen. "File Edit View Favorite Tools Help". Is that there or no. If not, you may want to go and re-load IE.
Let me know. This is curious.

I should have been more specific.
Try changing your Custom User Text. Click on Profile (on the MW Board) then click Edit Profile. You should be able to change the name under your Avatar.
Let me know if this work for you.

I think they should have the rest of the part this coming week.
I'm pretty sure we will KNOW when they are back.
This was a pretty big effort. But you all are the greatest.
Besides, they will need a little time to catch up on things.

Lurve the new avatar and name, Gunner. Seems most appropriate to me, the Way of the Warrior being a genuine path of bravery, chilvary snf loyalty. I changed mine to something more appropriate a while ago, but I couldn't have upset anyone cause no ones yelled at me!
Re: changing your name. I'm sure Mol said to me that you had to have 100 postings before you could choose a name. Mind you, from one who can't even remember their own name, I could be wrong :bigredgri
