If you were limited to only growing three herbs/plants for every perpose from cooking astetics and magicks which three would you choose?

Only three??? AAAARRRRRGGHHHH!!!!

Would have to be Sage (Can't clean the house these days without infusing the cleaning water with Sage), Basil (I love cooking Italian, and I can't live without at least three pots of Basil on the go), and Mint (I couldn't get rid of it anyway - it's rampant in the garden). I get to keep all my essential oils, though, don't I?

I would switch the basil for catnip to make my fur balls happy but that is about the only change i would make. Yucky question and horribly unfair!

Three??!!! Ack!

Ok, Rosemary, sage, and lavender.

Or vervain, sweetgrass, rosemary.

Or calendula, lavender, rosemary

:D Ok, lavender & rosemary are both in the Labiate family...doesn't that count as one?

Definately lavender - it smells so great an I drink infusions of it to cure tension headaches.

Rosemary - because it seems to be fairly robust (all the basil I have ever tried to grow have died).

Lastly Mint - can't beat new potatoes boiled and tossed in mayonnaise and fresh chopped mint.

basil, rosemary and lavender.

But I'm not happy about having to chose!

I would have chosen sage, but I can't eat it! I'm allergic. But I do use it in my magick.

This is VERY unfair!! Only 3?? Well, in that case I would probably choose:
Ginger root (I use this for sinus headaches)
Lavendar, for sachets and a tea for nerves
Rosemary (I use this as a hair rinse to bring out highlights)

hmmmm... ~looks very unhappy at having to choose~

Rosemary. (Good culinary herb, good medicinal herb, good Magical herb. Many functions in all 3 areas.)

An onion/garlic hybrid. Because you can't ask a Frenchwoman to pick just one Allium. (Oh, wait, I'm "Katherine Blackthorne" here, and she's English.... Oh, well.)

Comfrey. Just in case.

Tough question. I prefer

lavender- what a calming, lovely smelling herb
sage- uplifts the spirits and great for cooking
basil- I chose this herb, since I use loads of it in Italian cooking

What if someone is really indecisive? Can they vote again? lol

Heh! Well, if they're indecisive, they can do what I did...take all green plants. I count them as one. :D

Lavender

:D Yup! My three would be green plants, red plants, and brown plants. Did I cover most of everything? :D

So clever, Wildchild! I might follow your way and count green, red, and brown plants as my three choices. But then again, I'll have to ask you for some more advice about on what types of those herbs that I should plant first, since I only have so much room to grow plants. Fortunately, mysticwick friends, you guys have offered great reasons on what to plant and why to grow those plants. thanks.
