View Full Version : Celtic Knotwork!!!! Help!

Hey, i know i havn't been active in mw in like the past 4-6 months, but i would really like some help if any of you would be interested.

i am going to try to master drawing celtic knotwork; reason is this: i'm going to design my first two tatts, which will be two different celtic knot bands around my wrists. So, I need help. I've gotten some instructions of web sites and such, but they're not enough. could anyone, ANYONE, please help me. I really want to learn this technique. i've got the 3 and 4-cord forms down pact.

I wanna learn, so please, anyone?!

lol, sorry dude thought u left, was gonna email you with this but hey impatients is a virtue around here, right?

The book How to Draw Celtic Knotwork a practical handbook by andy sloss gives a simplified way to do celtic knot work using a grid, it also give several other knot techniques other than the basic squar. It is a good how to book but doesnt go into the 'spirit' of the knot in any way... If you are looking for such simplicity that is the book for you.

I know nothing of how to do this, but I designed my tattoo and love it!

I think doverpublications.com has some how to books on celtic art.

If you can post pics I would love to see how they turn out! All my attempts at tatting turned into tangles of knots...:(
