Having searched the web in vain I still have a burning question on my mind.....
Where does Michael Flatley(aka Lord of the Dance & Riverdance) get those fabulous leather knotwork jackets? I want one really badly!:ack:

Yeah... you'd think someone would be selling copies somewhere though..... at least I hope so!:)

OK, Earthcup, my knowledge of Mr. Flaraty is limited. I've seen him a couple times -- for a few minutes at a time -- on video, and don't remember exactly what he was wearing.
But have you checked out Rennaissance Faire/SCA vendors?
Even if they don't have exactly what you're looking for, I don't doubt many people could custom-make it for you.

Have you tried an in-depth on line search?

Yes! I've searched every way I know how and haven't pulled up anything close at all.... which is surprising. You would think someone would have made a leather jacket with knotwork embossed on it as trim at least....
I've never seen any of the videos or shows but I caught part of an interview where he was sitting in front of a rack in them. As soon as I picked my tongue up off the floor I started looking but haven't found anything...:(

So, aside from the knotwork, were these styled like a modern leather jacket? Like something I might find at Wilsons?
As much description of the style of the jacketas you can, please. :D

Modern, open front, clean and simple with a standup collar, but not nehru style, waist length with knotwork appliqued in leather all over. There was a white one with green and orange knotwork that was quite stunning and there was a really cool black one with red appliques... *sigh* I'll see if I can find a pic...

Thanks for the links!
Apparently a great many people find him sexy because most of the pictures focus on his pearly whites or his bare chest..
These aren't very good but here's what I found:

I swear I saw I whole rack of leather jackets with leather appliqued knotwork on them but most of the pics have sequined jackets...

there's a good close up of what appears to be a painted leather knotwork jacket among all these vacation pics....

maybe I should just find a jacket and paint knotwork on it myself... it's starting to sound a lot easier than finding one readymade!:)

I just had a thought (where is Azurefire whe you need her)... we should be checking out theatrical suppliers.
I still say it's probably custom. And I still think most Ren Faire leather-workers could add it to a jacket you brought them...

Good idea! There's a Ren Faire coming up in Atlanta, I'll see what I can find out! In between roasted turkey legs and jousting matches that is......:D

I'm still working on this -- just haven't had much time. Maybe this weekend I'll get further.

don't worry about it! it's not a life or death thing, I was just hoping someone here might know something...
I think I'm going to try the Ren Faire and a local Rendezvous which features a few leather workers. Probably cost me a ton, better start saving my pennies.....:D
