Hello, my name is Faunus and I've been a practicing Wiccan now for five years or so. I'm very impressed with the way this board is run and am looking forward to getting to chat with some of you. :)

Hello, Faunus. When you feel like it, please share your "flavor" of Wicca, how you understand the sacred, what drew you to the Craft. We talk about that sort of thing here, as you undoubtedly know from your reading of the board.
Welcome and BB.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes! :)
Yeah, Snapdragon, that's a good point actually - I suppose that was a rather vague intro there, wasn't it? ;) Currently my interests have been leaning more towards Stregheria, something I've been wanting to learn more about on here hopefully, while prior to that my approach had been more of the Celtic flavor.
I guess you could say I have a more polytheistic/panentheistic view of the sacred and see the divine as possessing both male and female attributes. I believe that essentially all things emanate from one source, which is unknowable, but that there are other personages (of sorts) that are higher than ourselves, who are different apsects of that same source.
I was drawn to the Craft because having been raised a Christian, I always felt a strong lure to anything Paganistic, both the imagery and it's mystique. A friend of mine introduced me to Wicca several years ago and it was all I could do but to find as many books as I could on the subject.
To be honest, I'm techinically still in the broom closet, as only a select few of my closest friends know my true beliefs, as much of my family are stongly devoted Christians and such news would create much turmoil.

Hey there are a bunch of folks on MW from your neck of the woods who I"m sure would welcome meeting you and you wouldn't have to be in the "broom closet" with. May help to be with like minded individuals.
