I found this on Rae's site http://communities.msn.com/0Tintagel0
and wanted to bring it over right away.

To All Members;

The following post was copied from the Ask A Witch Community message board with the permission of Jainus Windsong, who is the husband of PrarieWitch, the community's founder. I believe that this issue deserves our attention and that as many pagans as possible should be made aware of it, particularly young pagans and those who are new to the path. Please comment and spread the word, so that people are aware that this is not what paganism is about, and this is not how magick works. Thank you.

MM all, long time no see. For those of you who don't remember me (hmm, how many of you DO remember me...?) I'm Prarie's oft-invisible husband, Jainus Windsong. It's not often that I come here to write anymore, but I saw something today that moved me to do so.

Do yourselves all a big favor. Get out your credit card, and visit www.spells.com ...yeah, that's right, that pretty little banner up there at the top. the banner did not copy Get out your credit card, go browse this site....then put your credit card away, puke (as I know any of you who are responsible Wiccans will) and make a vow to yourself NEVER to let yourself or anyone you know or can reach buy anything from this site.

This site -<DISGUSTS>- me. Not much disgusts me. This one takes the taco. A "Love Spell Kit" that contains a few piddly sticks of incense, a 'charged' crystal, a pouch (probably cheap velour or something, from the looks), a candle, and an online movie about how to cast this spell, all for the low low price of $49.95? Or, get the special Deluxe version, which I think includes some 'heart chakra oil, with specially charged rose quartz crystals'.....for just under 70 bucks. Plus they advertise the fact that these spells, especially when you get the CUSTOM spell for 90 bucks, which comes free with a consultation from Goddess Tara *rolls his eyes, come on, how lame*, can do ANYTHING. Yeah, anything. You buy our spell kit for 90 bucks, anything you want is yours. Sorry, chums, doesn't work that way...hate to break it to you.

I consider this site to be sacrelige against the religion of Wicca, and the practice of Witchcraft. Join me in my boycott, tell your friends, don't let this popularized watered-down, pay-me-and-I'll-work-my-magick-for-you-dearie version of 'witchcraft' grow and thrive. It's this sort of thing that brings us true Witches bad reps, and undermines all of the hard work we undertake to be accepted in todays world. And whatever you do, don't stay at that site for more than 10 minutes. You're likely to end up doing what I'm going to do now.....send a very nasty guestbook message to the website's owners.

Witchcraft, and Wicca, should not be practiced for personal monetary profit...at least, not when that money is conned out of other people's pockets. Especially not when the source of the profit is magick and spells put into untrained hands, who may or may not get them to work. I don't know which would be worse.

Anyway, this concludes this Jainus Windsong rant-of-the-quarter. I'll be around, and if anyone needs to get ahold of me, jainuswindsong@hotmail.com always works. MP for now.

This reminds me of a posh bookstore I once visited in Oklahoma City ... well, I think it closed and I hope this bites it too. :( ...
