We are collaborating with an already established BKLYN and NYC meetup group and expanding to offer more to the community. And the location is quite convenient for many people. :)

I wish I could go, there hasn't been a meetup in Manhattan in awhile. Unfortunately I got roped into a christening for a cousin's baby so while I'd love to cancel out, I've already committed myself. Maybe next time around I'll be available.
