Hi there! :)
I found this place on Monday when I got fed up with the other discussion area I'd made home (Beliefnet.com), and I kinda dragged along a lot of friends. **sheepish smile**
It's definitely strange for us to leave one site en masse for another, though. Hope you won't mind us too much. We're as insane as you all seem to be (in a good way), and we're very talkative. **grins** I've had an incredible time here. And everyone I've talked to from the old site has had nothing but praise for this place.

*grins back*
I started out on beliefnet too....last year. And I wasn't there very long. Umm, it always seemed a bit stressed over there. But this place is awesome and yes, insane! It is always good to see people who fit right in. Makes me feel a bit less crazy, heh!
Blessings, Chris

**kidding** :D
There's always been an undercurrent of strain there, but it kind of went supernova recently. And after picking up the pieces of past flamewars, I just decided it wasn't worth that kind of grief anymore.

Very way. **nods** Huge heap of mess. Personal, not-personal, procedural, and ROC problems, all rolled into one, with about four private agendas thrown in for good measure.
The result was a disaster so large that the community producer shut down the trouble spot board and hasn't reopened it. She's trying to sort it all out as best she can, gods bless her, but there's just too much of a tangled interpersonal mess that she can't fix.
MW has a number of advantages. It has stringent, swiftly enforced Rules of Conduct (memories of my accidental recent brush the Copyright Police), PMs so all people can resolve differences, a fabulous edit function that lets people clarify what they meant in the place where they said it, rather than 20 posts down the line (where meanwhile, 40 other people have all lodged a complaint about the original because they all took it the wrong way), and established moderators (where as BNet just recently implemented them, rather ineffectively in many cases) who know their jobs well, and do them well.

Hi! Another Bnet refugee, here. Looks like we'll have a whole bunch of fun and no name-calling. Who'd of believed it?

hehe wow! I ran away from Beliefnet about a year ago. They were really really REALLY starting to get on my nerves. :ahhh: they have some good ideas, but not a clue how to impliment them. Hehe it's much nicer here, there's a "home town" feel instead of the big faceless message boards they have. . . and the way they've got them set up irks me.
Not to mention how every once in a while someone from the christian boards would come over. Now, I don't mind talking theology with people of other religions. It's when they come over to go 'HEY YOU STUPID HEADS COME OVER TO JESUS OR GO TO HELL" with plenty of profanities, pathetic spelling, offensive wording, etc. -_-;; riiiight. I'm SO gonna want to convert now. Oi. LOL at times it seemed as if bn's boards were jungle gyms of kids trying to convert eachother ^^;;;
But I'm sure glad you're here! What a swamping of newbies we've gotten from you guys! hehe
(p.s. . . don't forget to vote for MW if you like us hehe)
