Is it okie to wear a black onyx bracelet 24/7 ?? I am suddenly quite attracted to this stone. Ive had an onyx bracelet since quite a few months but never used it. And now I suddenly feel like wearing it. Its as if this crystal has suddenly called to me. What do you think??

If it feels right by all means go for it. When ever a stone speaks to me I listen. My boyfriend it attracted to Onyx and wears it a lot. I have made several pieces for him. Onyx is a strong stone for him. It relieves stress and balances emotion so maybe something in your life has changed that Onyx provides something you need now.

yeah. but excessive amounts can decrease sexual desire sometimes. To negate that effect wear carnelian.

personally onyx makes me a bit offish. it - whats the opposite of "drawn to" - me. if that makes sense. I used to think "cool ... shiny black rock, kinda glassy" but now i don't know ... i avoid it.

I've got a large oval onyx set in silver that I very often wear as a pendant. It is my favorite piece of jewelry, even though I have been warned against wearing it, especially around my neck. To tell the truth, though, the pull I feel to wear it is strong..and I feel most comforted when it's on. I say, personal preference and intuition know best.

It was mentioned in another thread that onyx is not to good for people with earth signs as these people are more grounded than other signs. Saw your profile and since you are taurus that qualifies as an earth sign. While other sources say Onyx is positive influence on Capricorns(an earth sign).
how long did you wear it before you went offish?

not very long. a few seconds and it turned dark and oily and slippery/constricty feeling. i just wanted it off me. i could never put it around my neck ... shudder ...
anyways, earthy describes me pretty well, so maybe thats just it and agnes could be totally opposite

usually it takes a while for onyx to take any effect. When you have a day off from work or chores you should try again nd wear it and see what happens. try an hour or so.

Heh. I'm a Virgo, and I am far from "too grounded". I wear onyx all the time without issue - it's one of my favorite stones.

if you are drawn to it: wear it
try wearing it for a few hours while you are awake and see what happens.
than take a nap with it if possible, and see what happens
if it feels fine wear it 24/7
but if you wear it a lot, cleanse it a lot too, especially if you feel the need wearing it 24/7
cleanse it daily, 1-2 minutes under running tab water, while NOT wearing it.
a bath on hematite stones 1 x per week (4-8hrs)would be great; ideally on a window sill, with contact to sun
recharge also on full and new moons.

adding. black onyx, i guess you are refering to natural onyx, a dark grey (anthrazite) to blackish chalcedony, sometimes with white laces.
onyx that is sold in jewelry, like set in silver, often is dyed agate (either chemically dyed or cooked in sugar). this dyed agate variety aka "onyx" looks shiney black, with no other colour in it
other "onyx" jewelry often is made of "BLACK STONE" a term used for many materials used to replace/immitate onyx
these can be black obsidian (in the better cases) or even other obsidian varieties, but also often is dyed pebble, dyed quarzite, or reconstructed stones, dyed equally to resemble the black onyx (dyed agate) people are used to to buying when getting "onyx"
AND
there is a black marble like / travertine family stone: black marble from pakistan, also called Oriental Onyx, and a mexican onyx-marble = travertine variety, refered to as Onyx Stone, to make the confusion perfect. latter of which looks exactly like natural onyx (chalcedony), even has some white laces to it. only difference is the hardness
black onyx stone (travertine, mainly aragonite/calcium carbonate), mohs hardness 5.5 - 6; scratchable with steel and quartz point
black onyx (chalcedony, agate family) aka natural onyx mohs hardness 7, not scratchable with steel nor quartz point
unfortunatelly, black dyed agate has the same mohs hardness as the natural onyx, so telliung those two apart is really not easy
on a lighter note; the protection qualities of dyed black agate and natural onyx are similar, so at least from this perspective, there shouldnt be much trouble

well there goes that theory.
The positive effects on capricorn is more strongly founded.
For capricorns onyx increases their wisdom , calmness, sense of responsibility, recognizing conflicts early, goals in general, and beautiful things in life.
for Leos it helps their plans come to focus and keeps their minds free and flexible. but must be black.
Also for cleansing an onyx it should be cleansed once a week either by running water or some other method. if used a lot it should be burried in the earth overnight once a month.
