UPDATE in a later post

I've posted in the past about my oldest daughter who is quite a challenge most of the time. But right now, she could sure use a little energy if you have any to spare...

Her husband is a marine and left last month for his second tour in Iraq and she's been a basket case ever since. She doesn't handle a crisis very well. Last week, one of her husband's good friends got his leg blown off over there. Then yesterday another one had the same thing happen and 3 more were killed out of his platoon and she hasn't heard anything from or about her husband yet... only what happened with his platoon. Hell, I don't even know if I'm "allowed" to be posting such a thing...
But I did want to ask for maybe a few good thoughts her AND her husband's way. She's over 600 miles from me right now and I can't even give her a hug...

Thanks everyone.

:hugz: I will light a candle for your daughter, moonbride. My hubby was in the 82nd Airborne. I always worried about night jumps. Thank the Goddess we got out of the Army when we did. We still have friends and family in the military. Hubby's cousin (Marine) is set to go back to Iraq sometime in April or May. My cousin (Army) will be going to Iraq as well sometime next year. I cringe everytime they list the names of the fallen and injured in the newspaper. I'm so scared that I'm going to recognize a name(we've already recognized a couple). Hoping your daughter gets good news. :hugz:

Thank you for the good thoughts, everyone.
Still haven't heard anything on her husband yet... I'm trying to go with the thought that no news is good news. Of course my daughter is having a little harder of a time doing that right now.... understandably. Hopefully we will hear something soon.

Thanks again :hugz:

Ok finally got a little update from my daughter.
She finally talked to someone who said that her husband is fine. I guess he got hit by some shrapnel and has a few cuts and bruises and had a mild concussion but is just fine now. Also, his best friend did not get his leg blown off as first thought, but another man with the same last name did so that's still very awful. And there were still three other men killed from her husband's platoon so she has been spending a lot of time with the wives.

I just can't imagine going through all this as a wife or mother like SO many people do. Before my daughter married this boy, I didn't know anyone who had to go over there. Not saying that it makes anything going on any less awful, but now it's personal and it's much harder to swallow that way.

Thanks to all of you with your energy and support... it really means a lot to us.
