Merry Meet to any of you whom I haven't greeted yet. I'm very glad that you all decided to join our family. :) I have but one question... Where did you all come from? I mean, how did you find this site? Was it recommended some where, did you find it on one of the top ten sites that we vote for, how did you find Mysticwicks? (I'm not being rude... Just wondering. ;))

Blessings,
Kaylara

Well, I'm here because so many of my friends from Bnet migrated over here that the only board I visit there any longer has become the Celtic Recon one.
I like what I've seen so far lurking - this seems to be a pretty pleasant place to hang out.

And thanks for asking, Kylara.

Great to have you here! If you have any problems or questions, I practically live here. :)

Azure?

As in Azurefire?

Good to see you. ((((hugs)))) Hope you're OK. I kept looking for you over on Beliefnet.com (which, BTW, is where this insane group of us who all know each other are coming from), missing your voice.

Glad you found it here. :)

Merry Meet KB... :) Why this sudden influx from b-net though? What happened there? I'm so confused. :D

Kaylara, I'll take a lot of the responsibility for bringing so many new folks here, in that I posted a link over there to where I was going about a day after I came over here. And you can thank Melysande for giving me the link.

As for the story of what happened. . . the short story is, I got tired of BeliefNet allowing people to slander me and threaten both myself and others in a public forum without doing a damned thing about it. In fact, the BeliefNet staff warned me about my conduct because I had the cojones to take a stand against the claptrap that was going on over there. . . despite admissions from several people who complained that I had done nothing to violate BeliefNet's Rules of Conduct.

So, I said, "fsck you, I'm gone, and I'm going to take as many of my friends as will come with me." And, :) here we are. I'm pleasantly surprised to find as many people migrating over as have.

The other folks here can fill in some details, or provide their portions of the story. **Soft smile** I'm not going to give too many of my own details, because I'd rather leave the whole bitter taste behind me.

Well, my end is a little simpler, a lot less ugly.

The tavern thread we have here? There was one over there.

Phoenix & Wanderer were starting to come in covered with battle-wounds that looked nearly fatal.

A lot of people were going through personal drek, and the the Tavern had turned into a sort of Callahan's Crosstime Saloon, on some levels. But these two were HURT.

Phoenix, in my experience, has a quality that useful to others, but painful to bear: He CAN NOT sit by & do nothing when he sees something wrong.

And there was a hateful, unpleasant person over there dedicated to spreading lies & disharmony, who made Phoenix his personal target because Phoenix was usually the first to call Bsht on his lies & report him when he violated the Rules of Conduct.

A lot of this was going on away from the Pagan forums in an area for -- basically -- talking to the staff.
-------------

And so it seemed that two people I liked & respected a great deal and whose company I enjoy were leaving. Good for them, probably (I saw those wounds!), bad for me.

So... I followed, just to see how everyone was. And ran into tons of familiar faces. :)

I'm still getting used to this site. (I'm not a huge fan of change, and this one is very different in some ways I'll probably love once I get used to it.) And I don't think I'll quit the other site. But, then again, it's been pretty quiet over there. And the people I intereacted with the most are all over here now!

Works for me... If anyone messes with anyone else here, we will deal with it accordingly. Our one rule is respect... You break that, I break you. :) J/K. Seriously though... Thank you for coming here, and thank you to all of our new members. I hope that you will find this place nice and homey! :)

I heard about it from Bnet- came over to check this wonderful place out and found a new home!

I agree, Bnet had too many attackers and not enough defenders. Many were ignored or some people were allowed to stay on after a simple apology was made- which could not have possibly healed the hurt they caused by the comments made. A lot of favoritism (sp?). Very sad! We love a good debate, but many of the threads started there were either direct attacks against 1 person, an attempt to convert, or slap our community in the face.

Don't get me wrong- I meet many great people on there, but I really like this much better (but most are here now anyway). At least here everyone seems to be on the same page.

And that was something that there wasn't enough of on all sides over there, Kaylara....;)....the respect, not the breaking.

A friend told me about it, so I came and checked it out, liked it and decided to stay.

About Bnet, I've considered leaving for a long time. Never know when you post something that seems innocent enough and someone blasts you. Who needs it?

I'm just a happy-go-lucky hippie pagan who tries to avoid hassles whenever possible. :T

:nyah: :loveduv: :bubbles: :sunny: Well, I followed everyone else here from bnet. I have to admit I hadn't been there regularly for quite a while because of the stress and the unhappiness that always seemed to be there.

We know you did, Luv...it was a troubled time for all, and the pain was really close to the surface...and everyone knows that anger usually tags along with pain. *soft smile*

It's forgotten and forgiven. *smiles*

Looking back, yes, it was a hard time, and bad timing on my part.:( , and I am glad everyone realized my true intent after the dust settled. *smiles* It is no longer pain for me, but a lesson that I learned:)

lol I'm full of tasteless jokes and odd humor myself!

I actually just came here to say hi to PB and Wanderer and stayed all day....:D

The shin's gonna hit the fat anytime you have a bunch of different faiths on a site I suppose, maybe the staff coulda done a better job, I dunno.... a lot of people have been hurt there.

I just followed the fun and found a much cooler addiction in the process!

:oBig Confession:I was actually on the site for over a year lurking and sometimes posting before I became the Earthcup so I knew things looked as if they might be headed back to bad times. I didn't want to see that again so in a way I'm glad Wanderer and PB left... oh and  to Mely for finding this place!

It was the greatest fear of any recruit in Basic Training. . . the fear of being "recycled," sent back one week (or more) in training, because it meant one more week of being in Hell. Luckily, I didn't have to go through this. . . but we had a few folks who did leave our flight because of it, and we had a few folks who came into our flight the same way.

Anyway, one thing our TI's always said when we got a new recruit via recycling was, "Whatever you did to get you here is done. You've got a clean slate now."

Whatever happened at B'Net is done. The slate is clean here, for us refugees. **Smiles** Let's make the best of that.

We have a great bunch of mods here, who seem to have their heads screwed on, and are very good at making sure we keep to the main rul - RESPECT - and gently prod us back in the right direction when we stray off topic! Also, the site god, Mol, is a force to be reckoned with!

So have fun, enjoy meeting lots of new people, watch out for the Marmite and Spam, and indulge in the chocolate-chip cookies on a regular basis.

love and light to you all!!

Metacrawler is my friend.

:D

I just went to www.metacrawler.com, typed in Pagan Discussion Area, and there you all were, right at the top of the list. I didn't even bother checking any other links because I knew I didn't need to look any further. This place is my new home.

(And yes, Mol is a force to be reckoned with. That avatar alone scared the heebie jeebies out of me. :) )

Rice Krispies Lie!

I'm another B-netter, anthough I'm still there, flailing away on the CCC boards. :-) I still am at the "you just gotta fight 'em" stage. In only 2 days, I sense here what's been gone from the B-net Pagtan boards for so long: the camaraderis, the open-heartedness, the acceptance.

Well.....? Of course they do, Papa. Rice Krispies are evil. They always lie. They follow the ways of Stomp, Sizzle and Poop, the Defectors.

But I follow the teachings of the Rice Crispies. They are always virtuous and noble and good and are led by The Blessed Three--Snap, Crackle and Pop.

Cocoa/Fruity Pebbles are the true evil!

It forces 2 best friends to lie, steal, and turn against one another!Just the other day- there stands Barnie on trial for Grand theft of Cocoa Pebbles (felony charge). His best friend trying to send him away for life! Of course, Barnie tells a deceitful story and gets off scott free. The Judge dismisses the court, grabs the pebbles, and makes a run for it! It possesed a man of the law!

*Says in best Tent baptist preacher voice possible*

These Pebbles are demonic spirits sent from hell to take over the world and make us bow to the dark lord - SATAN! But we won't, we must rebuke them, we must not bow down. Do not let the innocent characters of Fred and Barnie trick you- they are tools of Satan- used to take over the minds of our youth!

BE GONE PEBBLES- I REBUKE THEE. GET THEE BEHIND ME FOR I HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT! Let me get an amen.

*I used to be baptist, so I can Joke, lol!*
