View Full Version : Tarot Reading Swap

maya
March 7th, 2002, 11:48 AM
As suggested by Myst here:

http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14164

This thread is for anyone wanting a tarot reading. If you're looking for a reading first check and see if anyone here needs one. Then the two of you can swap readings (or stone casts, prayers, what ever you can offer in exchange). If no one is needing a reading just yet or you don't do tarot but would like to offer another service in exchange, post your request for a reading and the next person to come along can pick it up. This way we can get in some practice and take our fair share of turns.

~Maya

p.s. I'm going to try to do at least one or two readings a night as needed and time allows so don't be afraid to post a request. ;)

p.s.s. You don't need to ask if someone will do a reading, just post your question if there's no one to trade with and I'll pick up any that get left out.

Certainly you may! I was out of commission last night while building my new computer but I'm up and running faster than ever and open for business so to speak. So ask away! I'll be looking forward to some time with my cards tonight.

I've never had a reading done by anyone or thing other than a computer or myself so this is really more a curiosity thing.

I'd like a reading to show me what I can do to generally improve things in my life over the next few months. Nothin' fancy!;)

I'd love to do a reading in return but I'm still pretty much a beginner even though I really love the tarot. Just so you know....:)

Okie.. three card spread:

1 - Present - Four of Pentacles -

You have a lot of material things in your life that you're holding on to. Perhaps you are too concerned about money or the things you have but you don't realize that these things are taking away from your energy.

2 - What's in the near future - two of wands reversed.

There are surprises on the way and a chance for some spiritual growth... perhaps a communing with the divine or another like-mind that you feel a connection with.

3 - What you should avoid - Judgement reversed

Don't let the things that try to clutter your life get in the way of your chances for some magickal things to happen for you right now. Don't take the gifts you get for granted and don't let stress dull your awarness to the majesty of life.

I forgot to add that I'd like you to at least try a one card reading for me. Practice is what makes you better. =D

Thanks! I have been worried about money too much lately, I need to make an effort to relax...

I think I can manage a three card spread...:)

Five of Wands: perhaps you've been trying to do too much lately, trying to juggle too many things at once?

Four of Cups:three cups are are turned over with one remaining, maybe you need to decide what's the most important thing for you to focus on now and let the others go?

Three of Swords:something is going to come up where you're going to have to make a possibly difficult decision between two opposites...

...anyway that's what I'm seeing. I hope this was helpful and thanks for the reading!:D

Thanks! You were fairly spot on with that. I've got five web projects I'm trying to complete plus starting my own business and still working full-time during the day. It is a little overwhelming. I think prioritizing is definelty good advice at this point. I'm not sure what the 3 of Swords is talking about, perhaps it's something that I'm not aware of just yet since I'm too focused on all those projects. :) Good job!

Well, you folks were certainly up late last night... er, this morning? So none of you are on-line now. I would love to trade readings with some of you. I find it hard to see clearly when doing them for myself, guess my Ego gets in the way. ( ;

Oh, yes, I use both tarot and the aquarian runes.

Ok, anyone who wants to take a stab at this: I'm very satisfied in my current "job", and I feel I'm really needed to be doing this job at this time. But I'm a little worried about being able to pay the bills once the divorce is final. Should I be looking for a "real job" or can I wait until my granddaughter is a little older?

Anyone want me to check out the runes for them?

Nina
March 9th, 2002, 03:46 PM
I pulled a single card for you, as advice. The card I drew was the Page of Pentacles. Yes, money and security are definitely on your mind! The Page is bringin you new ideas on how to make sure you and your family are secure. I feel that you don't have to sacrifice what you enjoy doing to be secure, but you have to be realistic, and take a practical approach. You have to find the right solution, one that won't negatively impact your relationship with your granddaughter. The Page is holding the pentacle, as though he is giving it to you. I feel this is really important - hold on in there, I think something unexpected is coming that will give you that security.

I hope this helps Topazz - feel free to pm me if you want to talk further!!

I'd love you to read the runes for me - I have a very good friend (male - and yes, there is a little bit of a romantic sparkle there!) who's been away for a couple of weeks. I'd like to know if there is anything I need to know about the possible relationship!

Love and light to you:)

March 9th, 2002, 04:25 PM
Yes, thank you dearling, that does help. I have been feeling lazy and guilty about not looking harder for an outside job, but something has been holding me back as though the timing isn't right just yet. I will keep my eyes open for possibilities now, but hate to think that the message could be that my dad has died and I have come into my inheritance (which I would have to invest well to actually live on for more than a few years), but he has had one serious heart attack and never really bounced back.

Your reading:

I think you were asking about your friend's feelings and intentions, but what I got from the reading has more to do with your feelings. *soft smile* The fear of repeating a past, painful relationship is holding you back now. Just as in ritual we sometimes write the things we want to release on paper and consign them to the fire, if you are able to release the pain and regret you will be ready to cross a bridge to a new life, and maybe even a new relationship. But there is a part of you that must accept and love before you will be able to truly accept and love another.

bright blessings, Topazz

Yes, spot on. Thank you. I'm being very cautious, because I've been hurt (physically, emotionally and financially) over the past three years. I'm simply not able to trust him at the moment, and I keep thinking lots of negative things on how it could turn out... Well, the New Moon is on my birthday next week, so I think I might just actually do something about leaving the past behind during my ritual. Thanks Topazz, that was really helpful! {{{{Big hugs}}}} :D :D :D

I need a tarot reading done...I've been trying hard to do it again after having done one last night, but JUST when I shuffle my cards, my mood just went away - my domestic helper began to vacuum. Arrrrrggggghhhh! I'm such a beginner in tarot so a little distraction is enough to compel me to put away the spread coz I felt no pull to even look at what the cards were. Anyway, I have this little yarrow (it's actually plastic but mimicks the original yarrow sticks, something cute my mom picked up for me in a bookstore) sticks cylinder that I have used for divination. Unfortunately, that's all I can offer to swap for a reading (for now, that is, I'm working HARD on improving my tarot skills!)... Each stick has a number corresponding to a chapter in an accompanying booklet which tells of a story behind this number - sometimes this is Chinese history, sometimes Chinese folklore. And each chapter then specifically has a comment for each health, money/business, love, and education - depending on what the querent asked. I really don't know if this works if it is done for someone else...but anyone interested in trying?

Here's my situation:
I have hopped three universities, ran into walls and never found what I wanted to study. All I've ever wanted to do was to cuddle up with animals - but now I'm thinking of pursuing a law degree (I do have this great dream to fight for legal rights for animals). Thing is, had this thought not occurred to me, I would be going on to study either philosophy and anthropology, which I have studied before (but never felt "me") but if I do return to studying these subjects I know I'm doing it so that I can get out of university and start doing hands-on work with animal protection. I need to decide where I REALLY want to go, coz hopping another university would, heh, give my parents (and myself) another nervous breakdown...and I want to end this apparent "curse" of never finding my goal...and worse, is this urge to pursue a law degree only another illusion? Is IT even what I want to do?

I truly, truly appreciate your even taking the time to read this!

I don't have my cards on me tonight but if you don't mind some straight intuition type advice...

Have you considered getting a degree in something you can build a career with and then pursuing the rest of your intrests on your own? You've got your whole life ahead of you, no need to know everything at once! Anyway that's my two cents....;)

Yeah, I see what you're saying Earthcup. Thing is, my passion for animals is VERY strong...and as far as career goes, I personally hate the idea of money (though I need it and want it) because it has ruined so much of Life...I would hate seeing myself pursuing a career that doesn't relate to restoring Life (yeah, I know, I can start sounding lame at times...but this animals and Nature deal is too close to my heart to be placed into the 'personal interests' or hobbies section.). And this feeling is almost getting too strong that if I don't actively DO something about it, I'm gonna explode! Help!

College isn't for everyone. *shrugs* Maybe you should pursue your intrests in animals and nature and find work that makes you feel good(with enough pay to live on! lol) Your parents might freak but you could always head back to college later...

Or you could be a vet. Which is a lot of college! lol

March 9th, 2002, 10:43 PM
I agree completely. I really don't enjoy uni, but, unfortunately, we're still in the Cusp, and what I want to do with animals is firstly to get people to listen...and to do that, I know having a chain of titles behind my name would be helpful (I know, I'm not being completely true to myself this way, but I have to work on the practical side if I want to make genuine animal rights happen). Until we are all comfy in the Aquarian Age, I will need to have a uni degree (as far as learning goes, I don't find much wisdom in university, but that's just my experience)...which sucks, but a fact I choose to accept. *sighs* I know I have options, just not sure if *most* of these options have appeared yet...
Yeah, I have thought of becoming a vet (that was my dream career as a kid), but I'm not too inclined towards science...

OK...sorry, people! Didn't mean to get SO off topic! :D

If you're feeling a little adventurous you could take off a year and do volunteer work or join a treesit or something and then decide what you want to do.. Maybe some time off campus could give you some space to think and learn about all the career options out there... there's a lot of different fields out there that might intrest you...

Really it's whatever your heart is telling you to do. I'm sure you'll figure it out!

I'm into informal education so I'm slightly biased, can you tell? :D

Nect
March 9th, 2002, 11:02 PM
Ya, I can tell! :D So am I! Guess what? I actually have withdrawn from my uni in January because I couldn't breathe and now I'm working with the SPCA, HK's Laboratory Animal Defenders (our current project is removing the rat dissection from the Bio syllabus - we should know of the result soon...this struggle has been going on for over a decade now) and other animal rescues contact me whenever they need me... It's SO much better than university (well, I'm refering to this last one I went to...it was HORRIBLE).

Really it's whatever your heart is telling you to do. I'm sure you'll figure it out!
And my heart's telling me to get a law degree... (ok, this is good, I found a way to get back on topic! ) but *something* is holding me back (now, I make it sound as if I *will* be accepted by the school! typical dreamer I am...), which is why I'm looking in the tarot direction. I make it sound as if I can just 'do' law whenever I feel like, eh? teeheehee

Nect

Earthcup
March 9th, 2002, 11:36 PM
hmm.. maybe it's just fear of the unknown? Law can be pretty tough...

*finds deck*

Queen of Cups: I'm seeing a person who would be great with kids and animals, very kind and honest and absolutely no reason why they shouldn't do well in law school... lol

Maybe you should wait for maya or someone else who's had more experience to do another reading or get a different interpretation from this one....

Whatever you choose lots of luck! :)

I'm going with the card Earthcup pulled for you Nect, and here's a little more that I get from it. I think this is a card that's giving you advice. You have all the empathy and compassion you need - that's the water elelment bit - but you need to control it, and focus it. In the Rider-Waite Deck, the Queen is focussing hard on a very ornate Cup. My humble opinion is that the hard study for a law degree will take you away from your dreams of being the enimal's champion, at least for a while, and I don't think that's what you need. You feel that something needs to be done RIGHT NOW, not in 5 or 6 years time. This may be a phase you are going through, of course, but it's extremely strong.

I think you are on the right track with the SPCA. What career opportunities do they offer? Perhaps they have formal training courses they recommend? Focus is the key issue here. Try and find someone within the SPCA who you respect and admire, and talk the issue through with them.

Just my lil' ol' take on it!!

Blessings to you!

I know, I need focus...I tend to think WAY ahead of myself. I actually managed to do a reading last night and interestingly enough, Queen of Cups was my bonus outcome (I did Marion Weinstein's version of the Celtic Cross, where she adds two bonus outcome cards should the first be inconclusive)!

I feel more focused already...thanks again!

Okay, I guess I'll give all of you who are looking for a chance to read for someone a question. I've been having some serious fits of depression and anxiety lately and I'd like some ideas of why and what I can do about it. I've actually started eating better and working out more often and I still meditate on a regular basis. I've always experienced these periodic depression/anxiety waves but nothing I do seems to have any affect on them.

Not sure now if this is the right place to post this, but I sure could use another perspective, some advice, a reading, please.

I am currently embroiled in a situation where something I said (wrote) was taken as an offence or insult, although I did not mean it that way. I don't like being defensive in this situation, but I like even less being falsely accused of attacking someone, or of trying to start trouble. I have apologized but others in the situation say I should just drop it. At this point I have refused to drop it because of the false accusations, it's not really that important whether my apology is accepted or not. Anyone have any input on how I can improve the situation?

You can start another thread, or PM me, or send me e-mail. Thanks.

Accept the fact that some people like being targets and you were the victim of that. It sucks that some people are always looking to play the victim and will use situations to manipulate people and get more empathy for themselves. If you ignore this person and stop feeding them they'll look for someone else to be 'hurt' by.

Hi Topazz,
I agree with Maya, and will happily pull a few cards to answer too...
until we sort out whats happening with different threads or not Ill answer here so not to confuse the situation more ;)..
I thought Id draw 2 cards for what should be done by you ~

Ok while I was shuffling the 7 of cups fell out, this is a worry card, so by this I can tell that you are letting this affect you quite allot and its troubling you more than usual, but things like this dont normally happen to you because your a nice gal.. so ofcourse its troubling you.

When I drew two, these were ~ The Magician and the 8 of wands ~ each are very powerfull cards taking of power and action.

The Magician, is reminding you that you have the power over your emotions and thoughts and even actions ;) You can do anything you want to do, just make sure it is what is really right for you and what you really want to do to get over this and start being yourself again. He is also saying ~ that you are powerful, probally much more than you think and give your self credit for, so just be strong hun and stand your ground if thats what you have to do...
but make sure its the right stand as just ignoring her/him is just as powerful as battling it out.

The 8 of Wands, is a action card, to take action and to really go for something, I think this is speaking of you really explaining your point of view and getting that across to this person so you can hopefully both understand each other and make some progress instead of getting emotional and angry and letting this override what is really important ~ both of your opinions.
Id say this is also reinforcing the magician power, saying to follow what ever action course you think is best and best for you and your head!

Good luck :sunny:

I've been giving myself a reading or two every day now, and I've noticed a couple of patterns lately.

First, is the man. I keep getting cards that represent men, like the Emporer, Heirophent, etc. It usually shows up in the "source" spot (like, for the Celtic Cross, it's the first card drawn). At first, I suspected it represented my dad. That was pretty much confirmed thanks to the surrounding cards, which suggested new found wealth, prosperity, etc. Dad's an artist and his career's really taking off.

The other pattern I notice is the number two. The two is normally represented by children, but a couple of card caught my attention, both in the same reading. First was the Heirophent card, which showed two children praying or something to a man in the middle (my dad). The second was a card showing a man in a chariot with two horses, a white and black one (forget which card it was). I'm pretty sure one of the two represents me, but I have no idea who the second one is supposed to be. I'm also a little puzzled as to which one of us is the white horse, and which one is the black horse.

Any opionions are welcome :)

I usually see The Heirophant as a teacher and the children are learning from him. So if you feel that The Heirophant represents your father, maybe you could benefit from some advice from him?

And in The Chariot I see a lot of symbolism about balances between things, i.e. light and dark, but when things in your life are in balance and pulling together like the two horses, you can really start to go places.

Hey Alexis!

Here's my try :D :

The Situation of Your Relationship

Five of Wands: The five men in the card each hold a wand, each raises theirs into the air and strikes their wand against another's. The men are not in any battlefield, nor does the fight look vicious at all - it actually looks kinda petty. Their faces are not fierce, rather, they look distressed and some look tired as if the wand they're holding is getting a bit too heavy for this 'fight' to go on any further.

Your relationship with your boyfriend may have wanted this break you are taking because of a minor conflict or a clash of minor details. But the sum of these minor clashes sufficed to convince you and your boyfriend that this situation is as serious as you have taken it to be. What prompted this break - an all-out fight, so harsh it shattered your feelings for each other, or was it merely a (or a number of) disagreement(s) over small things? Like the men in the card, the break may have be signaled by both of your exhaustion. Both of you may have been burned out by the relationship. Small disagreements blocked the natural flow that would be expected of a healthy relationship - but, yes, it is just a block, no one got seriously injured.

Outcome

Anyone looking at the Five of Wands would see that those guys would save themselves a lot of energy if they, quite simply, put down their wands. Their wands almost seem to have reached a deadlock - you hit my wand this hard, I'll hit yours back just as hard, the same energy exerted on both sides = no movement, everyone stands still but much (too much) strength is required to merely maintain this stillness, this deadlock. Why bother? Why don't everyone just put their wands down and go home?

Tangerine, from what I was able to see from this card, I think you have done the right thing to have taken a break. You needed one. All the strength that both you and your boyfriend fed into the relationship yielded not a happier relationship, but yielded a "maintained but stagnant" relationship.

I don't know if there is anything else in particular you'd like to ask...if this reading was anywhere near accurate  post more questions and I'll do another reading for you.

...I've had a sneaking suspicion that the second one represented my brother. I've only met him once in my entire life (atleast, once that I can remember), so I really have nothing to work off of here.

Oh, and the Tarot can help with just about any question you have, as my experience suggests. Just try not to brew any love potions :)

Nect, thanks so much! Yes, our relationship has been very stagnant for a long time, which was one of my biggest problems with it. It was always the same sh*t over and over. Okay a three card reading

Past: (reversed) Five of spears: In the past your friend was decieved by someone wasn't she? SOmeone may have told her that he loved her or something of that nature and lied just to get something from her. Did something along these lines happen? If so, I am thinking she may be incredibly lonely and not looking at all her choices. Rushing into things.

Present: Page of Cups: Somethinghas come your way, or is coming your way very shortly. Something that harbors good news in the form of a friend or creative doing. Something that she may have wanted romantic/Creative could finally be beginning to bloom into something more. It could also indicate herself advancing in something.

Future: Six of swords(reversed): Whomever this could be, could have a hidden agenda of sorts. Or is besides everything else, HIGHLY CONFUSING. The future states that your friend will end up still being confused about things, and will be stressed. Has this person been giving advancements that have led her to this decision? This card is also saying to keep her guards up, someone may give her harrasement. Nonetheless be careful. This relationship could have potential but I sense an underlying force within it. If she pursues she may get it, but the guy may not be completely truthful with her. Tell her to keep her guards up if she pursues it. Otherwise I would tell her to move on...

Hope this makes any sense:)

OK, Alexis, here we go:

Death: A skeleton dressed in armor rides on a white horse. Beside the horse is a body laying still. Before the horse is a kneeling child who looks directly at the skeleton; a kneeling woman who turns her face away from the skeleton; and a standing man, who doesn't look into the eyes of the skeleton but looks straight in front of himself at his own eye level, he seems to be making a plea. Yet further in the background are two towers, in between them a flaming sun is rising. The people and the skeleton seem to be quite unaware of the sun's light.

Like the standing man who does not look into the eyes of the skeleton out of fear, you are not sure whether or not you are ready to look into a future that will no longer have a place for your boyfriend. Although you have decided to take a break, you are still unsure of that step - was it right? What if I was wrong? This uncertainty is somewhat reflected in your very desire to ask for a tarot reading to tap into the unknown. Death - the term itself is frightening, and the skeleton that symbolizes this word is not easy on the eye either. But upon closer inspection of the skeleton, one would discover that neither its gesture/posture is frightening. The fear melts away when we don't give it power and look into the heart of this illusory horror - there is *no* horror, in fact, it lives only if you give in life in your mind and heart. By overcoming this, we see something else - the rising sun far in the background of the card.

Death is the turning of a page, an inevitable turn in your life that may appear daunting. Death is the beginning of life. You have left the past behind you and are now ready to move on. Do not lend your energy to the worry of "what if this and that happens after I break up with him?". Concentrating on that worry would only hinder your search for happiness. Instead, focus your energy in seeing that bright sun. The future is bright, don't let it escape your senses.

I hope that helped! ;) I know, I do tend to be a little redundant with descriptions...teehee...

I don't have anything I'd like to know at the moment...I appreciate very much how you trust me with the readings! :)

Thanks! I just don't want to ask too much... but for a better reading here it is: you can choose one or I guess however it works... thanks!

I am looking for a place to live with a friend, it is just so uncertain, I have a bad situation here now with my landlord and just want to get out. and she thinks she is going to ose her job tomorrow, although there is this perfect place we saw yesterday... i have to get out of this basement before I go insane!

and for relationships I am interested in this one guy, but keep getting mixed signals from him. we only really chat when I'm there which honestly has been twice. I have two broken engagements and i guess I am just wondering if anything will ever work.

I have also come (and have to still) a long way with my studies in Wicca.. I just feel so unmotivated, which is not like me at all...
my job, I feel unmotivated, I like what I do, and know I cannot leave, but for some reason something is holding me down.

I have also been dealing with a lot of friends pains lately.

I am happy, but for some reason I just want to cry.

I dunno if that is good enough or what you were looking for.

I really appreciate this Nect, you have no idea how much!
:)

That was just fine, shnen. ;)

Housing Situation

The Moon: A dog is howling, a wolf gazing up at the Moon gritting his teeth, and a crayfish holds his claws up to the Moon. Though the Moon is shining, her eyes are shut, and she frowns as if ignoring (or attempting to ignore) the animals below her.

Although the place that you and your friend saw yesterday was 'perfect', look carefully at all the signs around *you* - do they signal a green light? The Moon is a card of illusions, uncertainty, yet hope at the same time. Is the prospect of getting out of where you are living now and moving into this new place too good to be true? If it is, then it probably is too ideal for the prospect to manifest itself. However, that does not mean give in to your landlord. Rather, what this card may be indicating is that although moving into this perfect place *now* or *anytime soon* is not possible, it *is* possible to disconnect yourself from this landlord and move into a new place somewhere down the road. Don't push things too hard. The Moon tells you that if you go at the pace you are going dealing with this, you will fall into illusion. This card also tells you that the anxiety you feel now is not unwarranted - you are, after all, stepping into the unknown...but the Moon is here to guide you, to tell you there is nothing to fear if you give heed to Her advice of "don't let your dreams swallow you, but don't let hope die either." Give the housing hunting some time, I would think. You'll probably find a better place, or what's most probable is that certain events will pop up making you go, "Thank goodness I didn't move into that place!" or "I'm so glad I haven't moved out yet." What this card has revealed may be difficult to accept since you may have been dreaming (with great comfort) about what it would be like once you move into this new place. Keep your eyes open, distinguish illusion from reality, fear from hope, and stay alert for other signs that may give you better advice of the next step to take.

Relationship

The Hanged Man: Despite the upside-down position in which the man is hung, his posture is relaxed, and around his head shines a halo of light.

What would you see if you looked at things from a different perspective? The Hanged Man has found wisdom by seeing the world upside-down, as is indicated by the halo. The way you positioned your query revealed your lack of confidence in relationships - you start by stating the prospects, I feel the hope you embody when you wrote "I am interested in this one guy" but you quickly allow yourself to plunge into uncertainty. You are being held down by these old fears that still haunt you from your broken engagements. Let go. By letting these old fears dissolve you will see the world in a new light and you will triumph. This card does not call to me to tell you specifically whether or not this guy you're interested in will be in a relationship with you. That isn't the heart of the problem. The heart of the problem is your *perspective* towards relationships in general - once *this* changes, so will your life. And once you allow yourself to turn your view upside-down, relationships (when you are ready and will for them to appear) will spring up naturally and you will deal with them with the valor that have renounced and placed into the hands of "hopelessness with relationships." Reclaim that strength and you (and your love life, perhaps) shall shine like the enlightened hanged man.

That *something* which is holding you down

The Lovers: Do you ever feel a pull to unite with something? Almost like a magnetic attraction that is tugging strongly at you but you just don't know what or where the heck it is? Although this card would usually represent love, right now I see it as merely union. A part of you is drawn to the Divine or the spiritual (like the woman in the card gazing up at the angel) yet a part of you is still drawn to the material world, I believe symbolized by the man in the card. Your lack of motivation with Wiccan studies may be a result of your material (or un-spiritual...that sounded weird..!) worries - finding a place to live, an attraction for a guy, and/or other things that only you would know when you sit down to think about it. Your lack of motivation for your job is, in turn, a result of your 'on-hold' relationship with your own spirituality. But as Wiccans, we know the duality of things. Instead of letting either side tug at you with such strength that leaves you spinning, let the spiritual flow into the physical and vice versa. Merge the two and search for balance. Wicca is not a *study* per se when you *are* Wiccan (as opposed to a person doing a thesis on Wicca as a religion, for example). Wicca is a lifestyle, and perhaps you feel you have reached a plateau of 'studying' Wicca - if that's how you feel, then it is a signal that it's time to *live* Wicca. Examine the Rede closely, the Threefold Law, and all other aspects of the tradition that you follow. Your lack of motivation is perhaps similar to a person reading a lot of "How-to" books who never *performs* the practicals. Perhaps try to incorporate your Wiccan beliefs into your job, too. That may be a start.

I am happy, but for some reason I just want to cry.
Perhaps you are happy, or would be happier if you found balance... And it is not unlikely that you have absorbed some of your friends' negative energies. Perhaps try grounding or just meditate and set up a protective shield against these energies. It's great to help your friends until they (often accidentally) drain you of your positive energy.

OK, that was a bit long! :D I hope they kinda rung true to your right brain!

This is just a tentative suggestion but why can't we keep a stuck thread for requests, then the reader can start a new thread entitled 'Reading for whoever' - or if the questioner would prefer a private reply then they could specify this in their original post - would this not work? Or has it already been tried before and failed? Sorry if this is a stupid suggestion, but I'm new here and surely allowances should be made:D (winning grin)

We basically decided that you should do what's best for you. You can post your reading here, start another thread or PM them. I do think that you should respond in this post that you're doing the reading though as this thread is stuck but the other's will leave the front page eventually. This way we know if someone has been read for without having to ask them again or search through pages.

I am still new to wicca and Tarot but would appreciate a reading if possible.

there is a lot of "stuff" happening in my life at the moment. My brother -in- law moved in about six months ago on the assumption that he would only be there a month or two.
My husband and I are not getting along at all (we haven't even talked in over a week). His brother does no wrong in his eyes and my son catches the greif about things gone wrong. I feel I should leave the situation but am not 100% sure if I will be able to raise the money to do so.

My son ran away last week (he is back home now, thank goodness) but there is a situation with his girlfriend that is disheartening.

My job is unsure at this time due to budget cuts....

there is alot more going on but these are the major things at this moment.... I sure would appreciate some insight into some these, I am about ready to cry...Thanks

Well, I've been putting off asking, because I don't want to impose, and I can't reciprocate, but if anyone needs a guinea pig, I'll be happy to comply. :)

I've been having a hard time dealing with an extemely immature, irresponsible ex (hasn't paid a dime of cs, constantly calling the house or my cell, emotionally abusive to my kids, ect). I consider myself a strong person, who can usually handle stuff like this, but I can feel myself just getting worn down by the constant negative energy he gives off. Any help?

Keep in mind, you don't have to reciprocate with tarot readings per se. If you know other forms of divination, you could use that. You might light a candle for the person who has given you a reading, help them out somewhere else (like in Green Room when they need a recipe, or help them with their website, or make them a cool graphic. Then again there's always the idea of "pay it forward" :D

Hi Dagda and Flaire :-)

Yup, I do have a deck but still have to refer to books when reading as I'm still learning to interpret the cards. I see that some of you guys are exchanging readings as practice. I'd love to do that if anybody wants to. I'd really find it usefull.

So anyway, I'm relatively new to the pagan community, but I'm interested in crystals, the magical properties of herbs, tarot and the other more general wiccan stuff. Can I ask what you guys practice?

Speak soon :-)

I love doing tarot readings, and the deck i have are very accurate!

There is a deck I have that I would be greatful for a swap of - I have the celtic book of the dead, and they have never worked for me. If anyone has a non-traditional deck they could exchange for that, then that would be great. ( I bought them myself, and there is a superstition that tarot cards have to be given to you as a gift for them to work....)
I would prefer if the 'swapee' lived in the UK as that would minimise postal costs but any offers would be concidered. Please contact me on the email address above....

See, I do all my own readings, but I don't use my tarot very often... Mabe once a month, or whenever I'm having a problem. Granted, having to answer questions through my own perceptiveness has had its positive effects on my awareness, but I'm still a little worried. I might need the tarot pretty badly someday, and if they don't come through, I don't know what I'd do. As for doing readings for everyone else, it's always been accurate (I often get "Wow, how'd you do that?" responses), although I haven't done any readings for anyone else in ages.

I shuffle my deck in my hands, thinking of the question being asked and who is asking it.....then I have the person cut the deck, if they are not present (ex. on-line readings) I think of the person and ask for the best cut for that person while I cut the cards two times (for 3 piles) put the three piles back together so the middle pile is on the last and the first is on bottom. (confused yet??!! lol) Then I just "deal" from the top of the deck in the order of the layout. :D

Even the way you do it....all you have to do is concentrate on the person that you are reading for and their question....select the cards and then type out your interpretation of the cards you have pulled. :D

Yep, what Dagda said. Just concetrate on what you know about that person, write your interpretation down, then type it and send it.

I'd be glad to read for you. Let me warn you that it might take a week or so for me to get the results to you. I don't really like doing general readings so do you have a specfic quesion I can work with?

Hey all, I would love to have a reading.

: I had my daughter in september, and she is starting to sleep more, and I was wondering if I should go back to work? We are doing alright with just my fiance working. I was thinking of going back tot he temp agency I worked for. also we have been thinking about finding an apartment to share with friends, on one hand I want to, and on the other i'm not so sure it would work out. Should we?

I can give someone a 3 card reading.

Thanks , and blessed be,

I'd love a reading if anyone is up to it.
I have quite a few questions but I'll limit for now to the two main problems.

Right question number one. I'm in a job that is makeing me very unhappy but I'm frightened to just leave as I would have no money but if I stay I risk getting more unhappy, I'm already back on the anti depression tablets but I'm trying to carry on in the hjope that the anti d's will make the whole thing more berable. My question is should I leave or should I stay and try to work through this difficult time.

Question number two. I'm in a long term relationship with a guy who I care deeply for but I'm just not sure the magic is still there. I don't know if I'm just holding onto him for fear of being alown or if we realy do have a future together. I'm also not sure if this is all relative to the depresion and if it is what should I do about it. Basicaly can someone tell me if there is a future to my current relationship or should I just move on with my own life and let him get on with his?

That's all realy so I'll wait for an answer when someone has the time.
Thanks

Hi,

I've had a few weeks to spend with my new deck - Healing with the Faeries, and would like to offer to do a reading if anyone's interested. These aren't tarot cards, but I've found them to be very insightful.

How weird! I typed out the whole of your reading last night, and sent it, and now there's no trace of it, and obviously you didn't get it. I have no explanation for that. . .

I will try to remember everything and retype it.

Hi everyone,

Is there anyone that you know of that can do a past life reading? I've had some weird dreams, and thought maybe it had soemthing to do with a past life. I did have one dream come true this week. I dreamt about a friends mother and that her car was taken or stolen. The day after i found out she was arrested for dwi and they impounded her car. Most of my dreams have just been really strange.and this morning i dreamt that i was in a large room, and was being jabbed or accupunctured. I'm going to start jotting my dreams down on paper..

Here's where to get your past life reading done.
But I think shes taking a break right now.
http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?threadid=22104
She also posted somewhere how she does them so maybe someone elese has been practicing and can take you up on your request. Or maybe you'd like to try yourself.:)
http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?threadid=22146
AND you might try posting something in the DIVINATION forum. They can probably help you with your dream interpretation.

Hope this helps!:)

Maya & all others,

Hello, I am new here. This is my first posting. I have recently begun my spiritual journey. This has brought my casual interest in such things as tarot cards, runes, and the such to a new level and I have started to meditate and practice with my cards somewhat regularly.

The path that laid itself out before me to lead me here is a somewhat long story, and one day I will share it if anyone is interested, but for now, I would like to request a reading for anyone and though I do not feel totally comfortable with my knowledge level of the cards, I guess I could offer a reading in return. If anyone still wants to take advantage of that after making such a statement:)

Also, I have a Native American deck and a regular card deck. I would like any information anyone could offer about the regular card deck. I do not care for all of the layouts that were given in the book I purchased and would like to expand my choices.

I really enjoy my Native American deck-I definately feel a deeper sense of spirituality and wisdom from that deck.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and reply in advance and I look forward to chatting with all.

Blessings,
~Pauley

Hello all. I would love to trade readings with someone. I can use the Hanson-Roberts tarot, the Crystal Ally deck, or the Kitchen Witch deck. If you don't have any preference then I will use the one that seems most fitting to the question. For myself, I'd just like a general reading, I don't have any specific questions at the moment.

Would anyone like a reading from my super charged decks. I took them with me to a Bronze Age circle today and charged them in the circle. If the visable cleansing and charging effect the circle had on our crystals is anything to go by me tarot cards will be super powered and I should get some interesting results. I'm itching to try them out and see if it has worked.
For more information about my Brigid's Day pilgramage cheack out my post on New Pagan regarding My Trip To A Stone Circle. Sorry I don't know how to do a link thingy so you'll have to do the hard work yourself.

Hi, I was wondering if somone could do a reading for me. My husband and I have been having problems(other than not seeing him for 7 months, hes in the Army), we are thinking of trying to concieve a girl(we have two boys and are going back an forth on this as this will be the last time and a girl isn't 100%), and we are about to move to Germany. I'm interested in getting a pastlife reading , in return I can give you a reading from this deck Druid Animal Oracle (http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/druidanimal/index.html) . I am pretty good with the Triune spread ( 3 cards , cause , effect emotionally , effect in physical world) and the spread of the elements ( 5 card spread aspects of intellectual , sensual , emtional , and intuitive life).
If you don't do cards but want a reading I do not mind, let me know .

Glad to see we have so many people offering readings at the moment :). I'll throw an open request to who ever wants to take it. I'm in need of a bit of insight into a change of career I am considering so if anyone wants to do me a reading I'd be really pleased to hear from them. August 24th, 2003, 11:10 AM
Hi Prizm
The best way to learn is having others show you how they read the cards. Just ask for a reading and pay close attention to how they do it. The layout, the way they tell the story as it is layed out to them.
Don't worry that you have to send a reading in response. If someone really like to do readings, that is not what they do them for. Once you get to where you want to do readings for others you will understand. Go ahead and ask

i could really use a reading...i'm afraid i can't offer a reading in return since i am not so good at tarot. but hey, let me spill my guts for everyone to see just in case someone decides to give me a free reading out of the kindness of his or her heart...

i have been going to art school for a year and a half, majoring in film, and i'm trying to decide whether to stay where i am or switch to an english major at a completely different school. this is a really tough decision for me and i can't even think straight about it anymore, so even a quick reading would help me so much.
