Not an easy choice to make: To stay there or to come here, OR to keep a foot in each world? The warm welcome makes it seem like the right choice is to move in here. The apartments are spacious and I like the windows onto the garden. The neighbors sure do seem friendly. The rent is cheap. Yep, looks good to me.

Thanks, Mol. We all need a goddess like you in our lives. (~_^)

But thanks, Honor, for directing me here. I've been enjoying browsing. Looks like all the fun people are here!

Thanks for the correction. And thank you Mol for not blasting me into cinders for the (trust me) inadvertent mistake. You are truly a kind and benevolent god. What kind of sacrifices do you prefer? Puppies and kitties? Nope, too benevolent I'm sure. Virgins? No, that's someone else I think. Chocolate? Maybe I can spare a piece or two..... **sigh* the sacrifices one must make**

I'm trying to like it here, guys, but the conversations are just too one sided for a veteran debator like me and I don't have the energy to provide the dissent that makes talk worthwhile. I can play devils advocate everynow and then, but if you are relegated to that position it gets really boring.

I'll be on bnet, guys, this isn't my kind of place. I need bigger challenges, from a broader community.

Sorry.
You can just delete my 4 or 5 posts if you'd like.

But if anyone knows another good *interreligious* site......

It's no big deal. . . :) if I find something like that, I'll point it your way. I understand where you're coming from--in the debate sense, you'd be jumping out of the fire and into the frying pan.

The folks who are here now are here largely because we couldn't take the personal aspect of what was going on over there anymore. You were never involved in the personal aspect. . . so I can understand.

Take care, Kat, and walk with peace.

Actaully, we have people of all religions who frequent this site. We love debating, and if you really want a challenge, try getting into some of the debates in Political or Theology with Myst, Illuminatus, or Mystique. Trust me when I say that you are catching us at our best right now... This place is not always as happy and light as it is now, but I am enjoying the peace. :)

Actually, PB, that's just dreck.
I just know that when people are nasty on paper and on the net it is because they are lesser beings than I!!! (hey, I confront my inner Hitler, rather than letting it affect my actions from a shadowplace inside) {sorry, inside joke}
I was the one called things ranging from child molester to out to undermine Wicca as a whole.
(Hey, didn't Ravenwolf say that of her critics, too?)
LadyBelle accused me of stating that I inteneded to use my (now-resigned) position as moderator to stop people from dissenting with me from chris' sake!!!!!!

I was *totally* involved in the personal stuff, but I could turn off my computer and walk away when I needed to.
And frankly, I wish you all could've done that, too.

It's like not arguing with the fluffy bunnies who are destoying Wicca... if all the Wiccans just let them lie there or run away they win.

I can't let the pans and jaggs and belles win, PB.

Phoenix Blue

PB, I could *try*to get up a good argument with you. I'd have to dig deep into my radical nun past to do that though, and it's well and deservedly buried.

Maybe there's some music or literature we disagree on? :-)

Just being facetious. There's a troll influx on B-net today and everyone's a little punchy.

I admire Windsinger greatly. She does a helluva lot for her faith.

I've been accused several times of the same thing. Now, if i really wanted to remove dissenting opinions from this site, it would have been easy enough for me to do. Did I? Nope. Not a one. (At least for that reason.)

BTW, no one is going to attack anyone else here personally... My wrath will fall upon those who try it. (And my wrath ain't pretty by any stretch of the imagination)
Also,
This is not just a wiccan site... It has people of all religions from all parts of the world. As far as fluff bunnies go, that is the topic for another thread...

May I make a suggestion to Windsinger? You might want to check out our other forums too. We have a forum from books to music, to gardening, to political, to health, etc. We even have a Just Silly forum for the jokes & fun threads.

There's nothing that says that you have to decide right this minute whether to stay or not. There's nothing to say that you can't pop back here anytime you want. It's not like once you've registered, you belong to us forever! :D (heheh!)

We have so many forums here & we encourage people to post in the appropriate places so you won't see a lot of debating here in Just Talk.

Its not the right place for everyone. Everyone has their own tastes. Thats fine. There is no reason to make it a big deal. If you dont like it, move on.

Im glad to see the new faces, we get many here each day...but most of them didnt come from just one place like most of you.

I will have to ask that you refrain from 'trashing' Bnet here in public. I do not want THIS community to endorse that kind of thing.

Dear Brother of My Heart, you know I've been gone from there for almost two months now, though I left for different reasons than you did. I still can't make myself go back, though it's fighting a compulsion at times not to. *...shrugs...*

Yes, and I suppose I'll be fighting the urge not to for a while still.

*laughs*

I forgot you had that dig. camera. I should have you take a picture of me when I get home today.

*sighs* Was that my out-loud voice again? Had to be, nothing else is insane enough to suggest having my picture taken.

*...giggles...*

Oh, whatever. You'll need an up-to-date picture sooner or later, anyway. :p

I took that picture two months ago. Actually, I almost posted the old one, then remembered that I had a new camera and took new pictures. *...laughs...*

I was starting to wonder if you were actually working today...

*grins* Naw, the boss is out of town again, are you kidding me??

I've been over in the Poetry/Lit section flexing my storytelling muscles. *laughs* Jenny calls him my British James West.

Nah. I thought I settled on Kenneth Brannagh. (He was playing the bad guy on Wild, Wild West.)

Mel, you always look like that. It's when you don't that I start to worry.

I only look like that on the inside. (Always have something up my sleeve.)

Mild-mannered production copyeditor by day, she-demon devil spawn by night.

Er..... Wait. That didn't come out right. I think I channeled a bad sci-fi story by accident for a minute there.

Thanks for the compliments, Topaz. ~blushes~

As for the hair, well... it's been nearly a year since the wedding, and I really haven't been in for a haircut. I DID take off about 4" myself a few weeks ago, but it still falls past my waist these days. I look at the Pic I posted & think how short it was. Just before I took scissors to it, if I wore it loose, it came to the bottom of my sleeve.

Below, see my wedding-day hair: :) It had been through quite a bit by the time this shot was taken, but you can get an idea.

Gorgeous!

Even when my hair was long it ould never stay like that! Come to think of it, now that it's short it doesn't cooperate much either.....

Lessee... Mystsong is #26, I'm #27. Does that put the count up to date, Mel?

PS- I'm hoping this is the last reference you'll catch from me here to that other discussion site. I'd rather focus on helping to build this community and the associated positive energies with that...

I stopped keeping track a long time ago. Besides, most of the people on that list came here, posted for a couple days and then left for points unknown. Ah well.

I think the popular kids are usually the ones that don't do so well after high school. . .

**Smiles** The successful ones were the ones who didn't (and to a large extent don't) play the social reindeer games, in my opinion. Unfettered by civilized politicking, I am free to speak my mind and move any mountain that stands in my way. :D

I was never popular in school. I was quiet, and shy, and I always had my nose in a book. I was usually the one who got the best grades in the class, but I learned early in life not to keep raising my hand when I knew the answer. If anything, I'd say it out loud softly and let the kids around me (who heard me) raise their hands.

It wasn't until I went to the old site that I experienced anything like popularity. I laughed my butt off when someone there said that the only reason no one yelled at me for saying something not quite in line with the ROC was because I was popular and that I had probably never known what it was like to not be popular.

Oh, Feathers..... **grins** I dub thee "Mountain Mover."

And I am running away from this thread before I post any of the several off-color (and very funny) comments that are running through my head right now...

Yup, I hear about all the popular kids at my school, who are all either in prison, working crappy jobs in crappy stores, or even worse <gasp> MARRIED. WITH CHILDREN!!!!

I know. Those poor souls. I forgive them for not inviting me to the drinking and cocaine binges I am only now learning about.

The popular girls were the ones the guys stared at while they hung out with me. That didn't make me popular with the girls....:D

So, I hide in the shadows on this board in the same manner I hid in the shadows over here.

I'm really happy to see all the familiar faces (names) and to meet some new friends as well.

As for the current popularity discussion.....not something I am familiar with. And even in my 30's, I am still struggling with severe shyness issues.

*waves to all and runs off to the safety of the shadows**

Blessed Be.

I was so far from popular the Hubble wouldn't have helped! Always the nerd on the fringes, in a very small school. Not fun. I fervently hope reincarnation is not a fact -- I never want to go through high school again!

Yet I somehow have managed to craft a decent and happy life for myself, doing what I love in my spare time and trying to get a paying version of same while I plug away at (ick) Direct Mail and SKU analytics.

Popular is overrated. My mom was one of the Queens of popular in HS yet I don't think she is as happy with her life as me. But we don't bare souls with each other.

((SwissCelt)) Hugs are awesome. Thank you for remembering me from bnet. I didn't post that often so it seemed more like I was a ghost that only came out to haunt when no one was looking.

Hugs to everyone else too...((Everyone))

Off to work.....oh joy!!! (Nope, that wasn't sarcasm....I'm actually trying to optimistic. Work is fun.....work is fun. If I repeat that enough times, I might just start believing it)
