CAREFUL....sometimes we seek more. At one time i was left alone for 6mon. and i loved it, the only thing that got me to go back was the children...but now they are all grown up, the youngest being 21yrs. party, party, but don't forget, and choose carefully.

Good for you. You're at the end of your journey. Mine is just starting. My husband and I have been separated for about 9 months. The papers are being filed sometime this week. Tell me things aren't going to get as rough as I think they are.
By the way, good luck on the hunt. hehe

Oh, you bet on that - careful. A few months after my ex and I split up, I met a woman over the Internet. Turned out to be a complete case for the mental ward. First clue should have been that she was - and get this - a marriage counsler going through a divorce (RED FLAG). HELLO!! Duh, Tom.
Thanks for the advise though.

I see you just signed up today and I have to welcome your aboard. Someone will be around shortly to offer you refreshments and a thingy - you'll understand.
I can only say that I wish you well with you divorce. I was pretty darned luck, I think. Even borrow some camping gear from her this week. I think we realized that the marriage wasn't bad, it was just wrong.

Thank you for the welcom rantnraven.
I am hoping he realizes the same thing. Maybe the fact that we are actually getting along better now as friends and parents (two kids) then we did as spouses will help.
I will also try to keep my sense of humor.

sounds like you're about 40 miles "thataway" over route 9 from me, there's at least one pagan i've seen posting from bennington area in the yahoo club. likely there's some at the college, i'm a solitary, following a path rather uniquely my own, so i wouldn't be up on covens in the area.

That's great you found someone new. It strikes me funny that you are from the Buckeye state as well. I have been engaged twice and married once - all three were from Ohio: Cleveland, Cincinatti and Columbus.
Guess I don't have too good of luck with Ohio. No offense. I think I'll try Iowa next time - who knows.

lol...Congrats RnR!!! :D The single life can be lonely at times, but it gives you such an opportunity to get to know yourself over a glass of lemonade. :sunny:
I just got dumped a couple of months ago...I think I like being single again. :) Besides, I've got my first little one kicking around in my stomach and the joy that he/she will bring me makes up for the lost love...and then some. :D
Just be careful my friend and while you should value the friendship you've been able to maintain with your ex-wife, don't lose yourself to it. Whether you know your relationship was wrong or not, it sometimes takes a while to get the heart to make the separation.
:sunny: Blessed be and may the beginning of this new path be a smooth one!!! :sunny:

Thank you, C_A for your kind and heartfelt words. Sorry to here about your lost love. That which grows within you now will become the sunshine and the moon light by which you walk.
My ex and I have been seperated for nearly a year. There is no going back. How does the saying go? Once bitten, twice shy. Though I do still care, the love is gone and there will be no returning - that would be stupid. She is a nice person with a big heart but, she is a very selfish person overall. I can't deal with that.
When do you expect to have your baby? I will certainly show up to shower that one.

That's quite a move - from OH to TX. I was raise a while in Texas. Where about are you moving to?

I lived in texas for a time, and picked up the drawl, and
y'alls, etc.
After returning to Canada, where I met Theresa, we
rented a motel room. Later, I had to go down to the
motel office.
I asked the woman, "May ah git some ahce?
She misunderstood me apparently, and slapped me
hard.
After the quick shock, I managed to tell her that all I
wanted was ice. :D

Most of DFW is technically "dry". You can buy a unicard and the right to break the law. Wierd huh?
I grew up in Houston and I miss it every day. One of my high school teachers said it was unlike any other city in the country because it isn't a typical southern city or big city. Of course in DFW we have a Pagan community center and that helps relieve some of the homesickness.

I had one of those cards once. Do they still run about two dollars?
I was sent there on a business trip once. Flew me in Sunday night and put me up in Farmers Branch. The bar in the hotel was closed and the closest non-dry town was six miles away. I didn't have a rental and didn't want to pay for a taxi. So that was that.

I was raised in Eastern New Mexico (Clovis, NM is about 8 miles from TX) and it is VERY Texas here. This part of NM is even called "Little West Texas" by a lot of folks. I lost most of my West TX accent, but it slips in once in a while. I can understand it without a problem. My parents are Native Okies and I picked up some of their accent also, but mine seems to have flattened out after I went into the Army and traveled, then got my theatre degree and took the voice and speech classes.
There are those who say I talk funny because of my speech patterns. I don't really notice.
I am aware of the "Special cards" but I know where to buy alcohol in the Lubbock area without one, but, Hey, I drink so very little that it doesn't really make a difference.
I am also aware of a Pagan Center (that my foggy brain remembered as I was writing this response ... DOH!) ... and Group in Lubbock, I will find the URL and post it, there is also at least one Pagan Bookstore there.
Well, enough for now.
Except for the fact that I have "Quit Looking" ;) ;) ;)

RantnRaven,
I wish you the best on your new single life. I too was divorced in March 1999 after a 12 year marriage gone under because of my cheating spouse and left him taking my 2 children, and left with only the clothes on my back and a few photo albums, and no child support througout the almost 2 year divorce. And you know what, life goes on and you become a stronger person through it. Since then, I went back to college and received my Paralegal degree and am employed with a law firm, have my own residence, opened my own side business making herbal candles (INCANTATIONS) and recently got handfasted to a wonderful man. I always thought falling in love only happened once in a lifetime, but I met my kindred spirit.....Best to you!!!!!
