Me and a friend of mine are doing some server maintenance right now. Optimizing this and that. MW should be moving a lot faster now and will continue to do so...I am working on several software issues I have found on the backend. So....

Yup. More to come. The new postbit allows for easier seperation between posts, especially when folks have long sigs. Allows for seperation.

Yeah, I was a little confused when I first saw the karma button up in the top bar of each post...good to see that's fixed.

And has anyone else noticed that they can see an edit button under each post, not just their own?

a lot of folks just think its too complicated. I miss talking to TU in there he only went in there when it was on Java. Now we have to keep in touch with PM's its not the same :(

Agree all you want! =] Hopefully I can make it choosable. I am trying to squeeze every optimization I can out of this server. So, after reviewing this postbit...it is a little bit easier to configure and render.

When you have been using something called 'legacy_postbit' for the better part of two years and just look away from possibly -trying- the upgrade...well...it just gets old.

Like I said, I will do what I can to make it userdefineable via the usercp. For now I am going to work on tweaking the new look.

This is how the board is going to be from now on though apreantly Mol is trying to work some personal alterations for changing it into the User CP profile settings. I'm hoping he can because though I generaly welcome changes this one I'm finding hard work on the eyes. I will wait and see what happens when we have the colour change though. It is possible that will make it more managable.

Mol - I can really appreciate what you go through with each upgrade. I just upgraded and even had to change some domain names on my site over the weekend, and suddenly, everyone was looking for this or that, and couldn't find it anywhere. My sites hadn't had that much traffic in months!

Yup. I agree. It is growing on me. When I first saw the changes I was like "Huh?" But, after a few cups of coffee and waking up it is pretty neat. Methinks anyway. :boing:

Right click on your desktop and click on Properties
Go to the Settings Tab and look for Screen Resolution then move the slider toward the more side.
Click Apply, it might ask whether you like the current setting. If you do then click OK, if ya don't then do nothng and it will revert back in 15-30 seconds (can't remember exact time length)
Then click OK to close the display window.

That's it :)

Yeah, but before it was nice to see it up by the username and before you clicked it, it showed how many new posts there actually were. That and new karma pokes. It's not a huge deal... was just a nice little perk before.

is it just me or are others having huge problems with this site since the upgrade ?? it takes ages to log on , page up loads take two or three tries and invariably l end up being bounced back to where l started.......i havn't been on this site mcuh because l'm kind over battling with the problems but l keep logging on waiting for things to settle ( 'cause l love it here ) but it's only getting worse ! .....while l love the new look...things havn't been the same since the updating...is there anything l can do to combat these problems ?

Well, I must say that when I left last night the new changes were...unwanted by me lol. But now they've had some time to "stir in" and I'm acctually for the new look. Its interesting(I've never seen a forum with it like this before) and fun!

It is very, very, very slow - taking about a minute to load up each page. I'm using a tabbed browser so at least I can open several pages at once, and by the time I've finished reading one page, the next one has just about got there.

I'm guessing this is because Mol's still working on it - it's not to do with the new version of vBulletin, because I'm on another board that uses 3.6.2 and that's pretty fast. I only tend to read posts in the astrology forum, but if I were using the site to make a lot of posts I'd be struggling right now - I think we just have to hang on and wait, and it will all get sorted! :)

For about 30 seconds I wasn't sure how I felt about the left-hand bar suddenly appearing at the top of each thread post.

Now, I think it's a great idea. Having names and avatars up there preceding the posts makes it much easier to see who is talking - probably just because you sort of *have* to see that first. With info to the left as it was before, it was too easy to just read one message after the other, only notice the sigs, and not glance left unless something's flashing! (That was my tendency anyway!)

The only thing I could really say I dislike would have to be that divider above the sig area... the lines, zeroes and Os down there. It's very uneven... and I don't quite understand why it was changed. I think a plain thin line is fine.

But I'm happy with whatever Mol decides!

Actually there is a medium and you can adjust the font to make things happy.

Just scroll down to the very bottom of the screen where there's a black bar with "contact us" info... on the left side of that bar is a drop-down thing that you can use to change the size of the font on screen. There's like normal, small, medium, large and monochrome (which was nice when the screen was all bright yellow and orange one time and was searing my eyeballs :lol:).

My sister's boyfriend still uses it and he's a computer wiz, not exactly sure what he does, but he makes a lot of money and knows what he's doing.

You can no. I moved filesystems and forgot to tell Vbulletin I had done so. I deleted the old filesystem before I updated vb. So we lost about a days worth of attachment, folks.

Yes. I am going to hack up the software a bit and get the features back that you all are use to. Make it so you can select the old postbit (way the posts look) via the usercp. Then I will get the new scheme and header up.

Then I am off to Mwad to start the process over there. I am moving my header to Mwad as a selectable theme, but it will be more blacks and dark reds than blue.

I should note that I've slowly been going through the profiles of the Forum Guides (who have contacted me and/or are active on the site) and checking their sub-usergroup box so when mol sets up the Guide forum, they'll be able to see it.

I don't know, it was always a blueish green to me as well, and I have a brand new laptop with a liquid crystal display screen. All other colors have always been true on it so...

I don't think it's all that bright either. The background is a pretty burgandy/maroon and I like the orange--it reminds me of pumpkin pie. :)
