I need a little healing energy today. I am in a lot of pain (only a woman will understand) and am currently praying to the Goddess of IB Profen to help.

Oh Goddess, take it away. :(

*GreenDawn lays head on desk at work (hopes no one comes back from field work to soon), and while holding it in, silently weeps and weinces in pain*

PS- there are only 3 people currently in my office- one is in out of town for the day, another is across town in a hopefully long meeting, and me. SO I am lucking out so far:ugh: If anyone comes near me I'll either bite their head off or cry uncontrolably:meanhead:

Thanks, they aren't the most flattering or recent though. the new ones were taken on a web cam and I the lighting wasn't really good at all:) The others were from about 8 years ago. I haven't changed much- only the hair color and style from time to time, lol!

The ib profen I took earlier has subsided some of the pain- at least now it doesn't feel like Seagorni Weaver felt in Aliens when one popped out of her tummy!

I am going to the Chrioprater at 2:30 today- he always helps the pain go away through adjustments and therapy. Goddess bless him for getting me in there today:T

Been there for many many years, GreenDawn. Here's a tummy rub and some hot lemongrass tea.

Chiropractors -- what a wonderful profession. Mine is working wonders for my migraines.

In the course of taking martial arts, I learned some stuff that can help, but you need another willing body.

Lie flat on your stomach on a firm surface. (Yes, I know, do it anyway. Trust me.)

Have you "helper" kneel next to your body and place the heel of his hand to the side of your spine, just above your hip-bone. Then massage with a "down & out" motion, pushing down on you and "rocking" so that his hand slides off your side. (Did that make sense?) You'll know if he's getting it right.

Repeat on the other side.

This, all by itself & instantly, will often knock down the pain as much as a dose of drugs. Even when you're talking a stranger through it for their first time.

Then, if he's generally good at massage/backrubs/etc., have him work around your low back/sacrum, triggering the pressure-points.

Sometimes, if they're good, you can chase the last vestiges away this way.

And if I can say that, it's not just BS.

Chripractor cleared up most of the pain, but I still (after much Advil during the day) got stronger stuff last night and passed out

Feeling better today! Thanks for all the suggestions.;)

So sorry, GreenDawn! I remember those days well, when nothing but a pint of brandy would knock me out sufficiently to sleep until the worst had passed.

Have you been checked out for some of the more nefarious causes of bad cramping? I just thought chronic pain was normal for women until I got the diagnosis of endometriosis.

That's true -- when all else fails, I have resorted to whiskey.

And my mom turned out to have endometriosis, which tends to run in families. (Could explain why all the women in our clan suffer so. Thank the Goddess I don't have it -- I can't imagine it being worse!)
