As Kaylara has just got married, she understandably has real life considerations at the moment that take priority over online. A honeymoon is time for the newly wed to rejoice and dedicate to eachother, not time to spend hours a day writing articles and lessons. So, for now I'll be posting lessons according to the following syllabus (which I did base on Kaylara's syllabus, just switched it around some), until such a time as Kaylara can pick it back up.

Congratulations hun!! :hugz:  Wishing you both much love and happiness!! :havinapar :thewave:

Class Syllabus

Part 1

What energy is. (This was already fully covered by Kaylara in Common Ground, I don't feel there's anything I can add to it)

How Energy Relates to Magic

Types of Energy - Energy Colours and What They Mean

Meditation

Seeing, Sensing & Recognising Energy

Influencing, Controlling & Directing Energy

Grounding

Centering

Basic Shielding

Receiving & Projecting Energy

Charging

Draining

Part 2

Etiquette & Respect for Energy

Energy Signatures

Energy Flows

Advanced Shielding, Defense and What Constitutes an Offense

Astral Projection, Astral Travel & Creating Your Own Place

Combining Energies for Differing Purposes

~Authors Note~

With the less practical lessons, count it as something to read, think on, meditate on and possibly incorporate into anything you might do with energy from that point onwards.

Also, some of the lessons may already have been partially or wholly covered by Kaylara. However, with most of them I'll post my own lesson anyway because that way you get more ideas and input to work from.

Kaylara:

Congrats on being a Newlywed. I am truly happy for you.

Kailen:

Thank you for helping out with the class. I can't wait to go begin reading your lessons.

Feedback on the lessons would be good, so I know how much you are all understanding and how clear it is to you. I would very much like to see your own thoughts, questions and any suggestions to help eachother or suggestions of what you would like to see as lessons posted as well.

So, basically, a running commentary  of what you think and feel about the lessons and the stuff you're doing in relation to them.

I've got a quick question: do you or Kay intend to continue an Energy-Work class "Energy Work Advanced"? The title implies it can be followed up...

AWSOME Syllabus you have here! You're teaching all the "boring" basics people need to know before they even THINK of entering the astral realm. I applaud you sir :D. You make my job so much easier. And Kaylara...ow-OW ;). I hope you have (had?) an awsome time on your Honey Moon. :)

Do you think we should have an advanced class?

The reason I'm asking this, is because I figured that this class would not be like other classes on here. Energy is always changing, new methods and techniques can always be shared and tried out, theories discussed etc. The idea of this class was to give people a place to start and to let them experiment and grow from there.

I don't know if we should have an advanced class. Really, the things you can teach are all basics. The things you can discuss and compare, those are the truly advanced things that just can't be taught. They have to be experienced. :) IMHO, of course.

No Honeymoon here, but we had fun anyways! :)

I agree that it should just be the basics class. Sure, there's a couple of things we'll teach beyond basics, like shielding. But, Kaylara is right, the only way to truly learn beyond the basics is through experience and practice as it can't truly be taught.

I consider shielding basic, and essential. ;) But I didn't think I'd go tell people how to pimp smack each other astrally, etc. I did want to go over the concept of a construct and things like that, but really, there's very little that I consider advanced that can be taught.

Alright, you're both making legitimate points. I guess I'll just ponder over the given lessons then ;)
