Last night I had a dream about being out in the desert after a good downpour. The clouds were in the distance. My girlfriend and I were out in the gullies walking around. Well we came to a part where I looked down and saw a dead raven on the ground. Well of course, like anyone is going to do, I looked up to the tree tops and there were three ravens looking down at us, making that annoying "squack" noise they make. We kept on walking and we made our way to a pond, that was as clear as spring water, and started to bath in it and have a good time. That is when I awoke from my dream.

Please tell me what my mind is doing. Because I think it is playing tricks on me... Happy Halloween everyone._vb_ :deviltail :needcoffe

Okay I'll take a stab at this.

The desert-barren, wasteland, hot, lacking the things needed for survival

Trees/Oasis-paradise, cool, quiet, peaceful

Water-cleansing, healing, rejuvenating

Ravens-betrayal, death, hardship, loss, fear

So taking a look at that I think that the dead raven represents a new beginning or the end of times of betrayal or hardship. You're coming in from the desert, which can be beautiful but harsh and barren, and you find an oasis with water and trees. You're also with your g/f, so maybe she's there as a support type person, unless you've had problems in your relationship, which could mean the two of you have come over your obstacles and cleansing your relationship or starting anew.

I hope that's at least somewhat helpful. ^^

Thank you for the reply, I hope that it will help me out with figuring out if it is just my imagination going wild or if this dream is of some significance.

What your dream means may depend upon why Raven was in it. The Raven does not stand for the same things in all dreams and stands for exactly the opposite if viewed as a totem (which sometimes appear in our dreams). As a Totem, Ravens are the givers of life not the takers and they also bring water and fire and food (in the form of salmon). You should break your dream down into its components and figure out what each one means to you first. Then reconstruct the dream and look for the message. More often than not the messages in our dreams are from ourselves. Start there.
