The Panther's Dream

I'm open for any suggestions on this one, although I'm mostly just sharing because it was one of the more expressive and exciting dreams I've had this past month. :) This is direct from my dream Journal:
October 19, 2006
It started out with a man, and he was running from, or to, something. I remember seeing briefly a dock. Then he was on a ship, a large one, old fashioned galleon type. He killed most of the crew or made them jump overboard; he was a good guy though, this was his ship. The cabin boy or whatever was left on the ship and was hiding. The man started to raise sail and called to the boy, but the boy continued to hide. I remember the sky was the clearest blue I had ever seen. It seemed so expansive, so enormous.
The man started to set sail, but was unsure because he thought it was going to rain and there was no way he could handle the ship alone in the rain storm. Off on the horizon there were big, white or grey clouds. He swung the ship around and took it somewhere where it would be hidden. He carried the main mast with him to a house on a dirty, old street. Some young boys followed him, amazed at the mast, which for some reason was disguised as a basketball hoop. There, at the house, he hid it away. Inside was an older black man who was blind. He was kind of the secret keeper for everyone and pretty protective of these doors in his house. Only he was allowed to open and close them, things had to be done a certain way. The house was small, only 2 rooms or so, and kind of dark.
I was there now, watching the pirate and the blind man. We were in the main room at a long table. Soon it would be time to leave. The cabin boy had followed the pirate over and slept outside, then tried to make a break for it, but we caught him and I sat down with him to calm him down. I tried to convince him the pirate meant him no harm.
Then it was the day we'd been waiting for. It was time to slip away. We first went to this museum type place, only it was just one room. It was very dim and dark. Everything was a shade of brown. There were all kinds of artifacts there, Egyptian and African ones. The statue's eyes seemed to follow you around, and it was hard to look at them directly. They seemed to emanate some type of power. It sent chills down my spine, but it wasn't frightening, or threatening, just a presence and power that let you know you should be respectful. The particular statue I had the hardest time with was one of Isis, it was just of her head, but it was a purple amethyst color, and her eyes followed you. I bowed and showed respect and was able to admire the statue for about 1 minute before her eyes moved and I was overwhelmed again. I stood with my eyes closed, half bowing, until the feeling of power faded from around me.
Now I was standing at the counter where the gifts and souvenirs were. I had got some nachos earlier and then wondered why I was eating them when I was allergic to cheese. There were tables of sweets, candies, and other food as well, all free. I stood ruffling through postcards, magnets, and books. There seemed to be lots of odd, out of place objects. Backpacks, books about math and computers, which didn't seem to belong in a museum, or wherever we were. I glanced up and saw behind the shelf in front of me a bookshelf with one of the books in this trilogy I had read sticking out somewhat. It was like a small library in another room behind this shelf of oddments. I could see sort of through this break in the wall in front of me, over the shelf. I thought about buying the book, but only had a little bit of money. I vaguely remember my dad, or someone nearby standing over my shoulder at this point.
Alarm went off, that's all.
I usually have very vivid dreams with great recall of detail and color. This one was pretty fun. Let me know what you all think.
