Petrified Wood

I was wondering what properties petrified wood might have. I've had a very nice piece for a while now. Lately, I've been compelled to bring it back inside our house. It's currently sitting in our backyard.

i think there's a thread on this somewhere ... but in general petrified wood is one of being able to change one's spots, permanently. if there's been a call to change of a fundamental level or basic life pattern, petrified wood can help immensely ... knowing the source of the wood can help clue you into what area of life such a change is to be manifest, as the tree medicine is a part of the specialness of petrified wood as well.

bring it it, change those spots ... the new look will be fabulous!

I just checked the forum and there wasn`t one that came up. I`m not gonna go through 19 pages of threads again to see nothing like another stone i researched. So this is the first one. Anyhow petrified wood is a fossil. belonging to the fifth element of spirit or Akasha. In spell use it is used in life related spells including past incarnations. also it serves as a protective barrier angainst negativity. also a connection to the natural world.
in healing it stablilizes the health and body's defenses. It gives a calm feeling over the holder.
Usually the wood is replaced by another minerial. either agate or quartz. Also a stone of transformation. A stone for the 1st chakra. Recharging it best by quartz. Cleansing it best by water.

Along with everything mentioned above I find it great for regressive work regarding the world of plants and the earth in general.

I've suggested to people who have issues keeping living plants to place some in planters or gardens and it seems to work well for most. (I don't keep plants but I have tested it and it does work)

i (or someone i know who gave it to me) once found this piece of what might be petrified wood and in certain lights it has this thin gold thread running all through the length of it; perfectly straight. its one of my prized posessions
