So on tarot they stuck a thread for readings. I was thinking maybe people would want to stick a thread here for other forms of readings, other divinations than tarot.

Hi, I also use runes and have been doing readings with them on the "other thread". I made mine out of small hematite stones. By using hematite I think it helps me stay grounded and get in touch with my inner spirit instead of my ego or my imagination. What are you making your runes out of Maya?

I can't carve stone so I bought clay that you can fire in an oven. I molded them in to flat, pebble looking shapes and carved the runes in to them with a knife. Then I baked them in the oven. When the cooled I painted in the runes with a red enamal that was from a model car paint set. I'm working on sanding them smooth and cleaning them up now and when that's all done I'll seal them.

Yes, we used to have a list stuck but a lot of people who wanted readings never came back. Every once in a while, someone would just post offering readings & people who want them will post there.

I think it was hard to keep a stuck list current...people come & go here. I think it was the same in Tarot forum too. There used to be a stuck list there too.

Ya, my daughter made her set of clay with painted runes and designs. I didn't carve the stones, I painted them with silver runes and sealed them. That was four years ago and they still look great.

I used a paint pen that I found in an office supply store, it had a fine tip that was great for writing and I could just cap it when done. I seem to remember that I sealed the rune part with clear fingernail polish.

I use the Aquarian Rune system instead of the Norse runes. They're a little 'new-agey' but sure seem to work for me. Anyone want a demonstration? I mean . . . a reading? :)

I love runes! I got mine through the mail with a book that went with them. I also made a set for myself with some dough mixture, I put a small amount of black food coloring in them and they came out looking like real stones. I also went down to the creek behind my house...gatheres some stones...cleaned them, painted them black and wrote in the characters with gold ink.:)

Ya know, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, never having had one done before but this was so close and clear to what's been going on that is was kind of scary!!! As you know I've been away busy working on some of this stuff... on the dreams that have kept overwhelming me for so long. So, the Ehwaz stone was so close to what I've been going through for a few reasons. And, it comes very close to a few things that I have been experiencing, one being the fetch or spirit guide involved... as far as it being a spirit double, I understand completely... the spirit guide that came to me last year could be I think considered as a form of that double, in that she is I believe, a part of my soul, a past part of me... The first two runes are connected to the past and represent what's likely to occur in the next six months to one year. The first rune I drew for you is Sowilo. Sowilo symbolizes the divine solar wheel or thunderbolt and represents partnership, journey, power, transformation and understanding. It represents your journey through your spiritual development and the fuel that ignites your patterns. Sowilo is the representation of everything coming full circle and the destruction of all patterns. It is the coming to fruition of your efforts, both positive and negative. When you build a good foundation, you successfully move to the next level but when you fail to do so, everything could come tumbling down around you. I'm getting that some major changes may be coming that force you to destroy your old ways of dealing with things and develop new ones. You'll need to start from the bottom and structure your steps to progress from one level to the next.

The second rune is Raidho, the solar wagon and chariot of Thor that carries the sun across the sky. While Sowilo is the fuel that ignites your patterns, Raidho is the wheel itself. I'm getting that you will be experiencing some major changes that might require you to destroy past beliefs and patterns. This will result in a burst of energy that can assist you in replacing these with more positive ones. It appears that whatever is lost will be quickly replaced with something better. I'm getting that you'll need to be careful to slow down and deal with these changes one step at a time, focusing on your final goal. As long as you follow the natural progression of things, you should learn from this experience and achieve what you really want. The energies are there to support you.

Hey, if someone has some time and energy I'd like a reading, please. This would be my first rune reading. I have a question concerning relationships in my life. I get more and more afraid that my destiny is to spend my life alone and never finding the right partner. I have reasons to believe that I have some kind of block and that's why I'm afraid to let anyone close to me. I have done a three-rune reading for you. I’m more experienced with the Tarot, than Runes, so I hope you don’t mind me ‘practicing’ on you!

The first rune is the heart of the problem. The rune I drew was Mannaz, reversed (I know some people do not read reversed, but I have a tarot heart!). Mannaz is the rune of humankind, and shows our interdependence on each other. Reversed, I feel that it signifies that you have become detached from interacting with the people around you. Perhaps you are feeling alienated? You may feel that no one can help you, and you are withdrawing into yourself.

The second rune is the course of action that can resolve or help the problem. This rune is Dagaz, meaning day or dawn, and can signify an increase or growth. You are aware of your fears, but perhaps you are dwelling on them? This can draw them to you, as you are expending energy thinking about them so much. Think perhaps more that each day is a new beginning, and you may come to a new chapter in your life.

This is true, I've always alienated myself, especially now that I finished college and lost contact with most of my friends. And I don't make new friends easily.

The rest of the reading makes sense also. I feel better now, maybe my destiny isn't loneliness. You gave me new hope in the future:) . Thanks again.

While Ken didn't quite loose his job, actually it's worse. He now has to work freelance which means pay more in taxes and receive less pay. He get's less in pay also then has to pay the taxes (35%). So in turn I am working two jobs ,both basically full time jobs if you can figure that one out. all this just to pay bills. I also take care of my parents house while they are away for the summer. (I don't even get much time to be here anymore ) And my out of house job is getting very horrible everyone is picking fights with everyone else. Very petty things happening. All I can hope for is in the (near) future things will settle down and ...gasp....shall I hope, get better.

On the bright side I have a couple possible trips to go on. Maybe even a trip to Oklahoma!!:bigredgri

I've had this vision several times of late, it's making me uncomfortable. It's of being in a forest during a windstorm. As I'm there, trees start falling down and then *blowing* away. Next thing I see is a sunset, but where the sun would be, there's a dark bank of clouds. Looking at it makes me feel rather sick in the stomach and very cold.

I can't make sense of it and I've been seeing it off and on for a few years now. Recently, I've started seeing it more. It's popped up in dreams, I thought it was a night mare until I started seeing bits and peices of it in my divination tools. It's kinda confusing and a little ... disturbing.

There's one other thing that goes with this screwy mess, there's a figure involved. The only name that I can identify with it is the Hunter, but it's not like the Horned one in any form. This figure, it is occasionally visible in that strange bank of clouds. It's like something of evil, as hard to belive as it sounds.

I'm getting sick of trying to figure it out on my own. I'm hoping that some one else may get some sense out of this. Maeby it's something relating to some deeply buried psychic trauma or something else like that. I really hope this is just my stress getting to me.

Ok I am doing a stone reading -- let me know if you have any questions (and nope stones are different than runes) This is a short term reading meaning now thru about 3 months.

The first stone is the stone of the east and it is your thoughts, ideas, the tape that runs in your head.

I drew the blue stone here it has three meanings harmony, balance and travel. Meaning you are thinking alot about how to maintain (or find) some balance and harmony in every day. And can also mean you are considering a trip.

The second stone is the stone of the south and is what is in your heart, the things that make you ....YOU and not really what you tell others.

That is the clear quartz. That means making decisions based on the higher good, from an evolved spirit. Seeking and finding truth and higher good, and being clear.

The third stone is the stone of the west and it's the stone of relationships. Remember that means relationships with partner, parents, co-workers etc.

You got the indigo stone that is the one of needing a real connection in relationships. A soul to soul connection, a more evolved person is who you connect with and who truly makes you happy. You don't understand little trashy relationships "just because". Your spirit needs more and expects more.

The fourth stone is the stone of the north and that is the outcome stone.

The other clear stone is your outcome stone --- sweetie that means that as long as you continue to follow what you know is right in your heart you can't miss. Like being the the GREATEST love relationship I've ever had! My husband. and though he's the Libra and I'm the Leo, I do tend to be the one who's always trying to smooth over disagreements. ( But then again I'm with the kids more than he is and they fight like cats and dogs.)
Is there a way to get some insight as to what kind of changes are needed? I'm in the process of several changes... internal, external, spiritual, emotional, etc. or is that what's meant? All these personal changes.
It's so sweet of you to do this reading.. I have trouble reading for myself with the tarot.... it always seems a little..off... not like when I read for others.
The south stone was also incredibly accurate! If it doesn't "feel" right... i'm usually Outta there in a flash. It's got to balance for me or I can't get into it.

It's the stone of keeping your feet on the ground, the earth, the base of everything. It's about the seasons and the basics.

My guess is the change needs to be toward following the seasons and cycles more and coming back to the earth ---- I don't know if or how that fits your life???

The other thing is about honoring self and family, holding on to what is truly important.

again this reading is good for about three months out it's a short term read

the first stone is the east thoughts and inspiration
it is the green stone here it means fertility --- can mean thinking of a child BUT generally it means is it the right time to do this, is everything in place, what do I have to do still to make (whatever it is) work think of making the farmers field ready to plant

the second is south what is in your heart
that is the blue stone of balance and harmony --- you are really upset when people fight around you it effects you more than many also in your heart you know there is a way to find a balance a win win for each situation and that is what you want --- and want others to figure out

the third is the west the relationship stone
remember that means all of your relationships (parents, co-workers, partner etc.)
that is the clear stone...that means that you like clear honest relationships and are a good judge of people..... also for a partner they will have to have your same clear ideals on staying on the right path

the fourth is north the outcome stone
that is the purple stone that is the stone of spirituality ....meaning you are headed to a place of knowing :) (I am happy for you!) and of have beliefs you can count on

and the final stone is the center you in the middle of all of this
is the other clear stone here it means that you are on your path, you are hearing your inner voice and listening to it (good job) it also means that you are right where you need to be ---- does not mean it will all be easy but that you are on the right path for you :)

My only caution is that sometimes people are sure of their beliefs after something hard happens to them. (outcome stone) however because you have the clear path in the center I doubt you will have a really rocky road......and if you do it will be little bumps not BIG ones :)

Dear Hope,

Here's what we've got. I did a five-Rune spread based on decisions - you mentioned
you had a few options in the world of romance.
O O

The bottom two represent what you think you want, and are searching for. They came
up as Thurisaz murk-stave (inverted), and Othala.
The middle rune is as you are now. This was Isa.
The top two represent the way forward. They were Inguz and Teiwaz.

First of all I'll do what came as it came - it may be a bit of a stream of consciousness
but that's what I want really.
You may be angling for adventure, maybe because that's something you were brought
up to expect, maybe by osmosis (ie based on your parents). You want something
different and exciting, but the excitement may not be what you expect. This desire for
something a bit edgy is the same thing which has led you down the same path before.
Right now you're in a bit of a quandry. I think that you are someone who waits and
HOPEs things will work themselves out. This has led to a stasis which you are
holding yourself in. Avoid stagnation. Take the reins and a bit of responsibility - you
know in your heart where your compass is pointing, and it may not be either of them.
Who's that person you've just noticed? Suss it out - I think you'll be surprised. Either
they will be good for you, or they will show you the right way.
You need to move ahead with energy and vigour - leaving behind things which you
have held onto for way too long. Let it go let it go let it go! Get that passion for life
thing happening again. That sort of flame never goes out, it just runs low on fuel.
Remember what ignited it in the first place.
I'm geting something about your house or your home (this is one of those left of field
things which are good to mention, even though they don't mean anything to me). The
living room on the coffee table. White and black stones or pebbles. There are trees
through the window which are blocking the sunlight. Not enough light. Let the light
in! That's it - you can't see the forest for the trees (great saying isn't it?) Look past the
surface and the details and you will discover hidden depths which will be most
revealing.

The bottom two, what you're looking for are two runes which don't make a healthy
combination. Othala is stability and Thurisaz is instability and in murk-stave it's
stubborn resistance, and chaos. Thurisaz also suggests a very volatile male engery.
This could be the bad-boy thing. You can't find stability there. Thurisaz is the essence
of chaotic and constant change, challenges and defensiveness. This is someone who is
not in touch with their feelings. I don't want to get personal here and ask about your
own father - I'm just looking at the history and upbringing suggested by Othala.

The top two Inguz and Teiwaz suggest a willingness to change in yourself to find that
stability. Inguz says a strong relationship that you have to make sacrifices for, which
is backed-up strongly by Teiwaz - the god Tyr sacrificed his hand to bind the Fenris
wolf, for the greater good of the whole. Don't carry your wounds as a burden, but as a
badge of honour as you move toward victory.

Another way to read this spread would be the bottom two as two options, one is stable
(Othala), the other is not (Thurisaz murkstave), and in fact dangerously so, though the
trees may obscure that fact. Their combined presence leads to stasis and indecision
(Isa), unwillingness to take responsibility. The unstable will lead to sacrifice (Teiwaz)
and the stable will lead to fertility and long life (Inguz).

I did a geomantic reading which came up with the following at the basic level. Judge:*Conjunctio - recovery of loss, a union, successful partnership.
Witnesses: 1.*Acquisitio - Success, gain, money and good luck, profit
2.*Fortuna Major - Great fortune, good luck, health and happiness
Mothers: 1.*Acquisitio
2.*Fortuna Minor - Lesser fortune, protection, received success
3.*Albus - wisdom and clear thought, calm, news and communication
4.*Cauda Draconis - exit, endings, the way out, suggesting a change of direction
Reconciler?:*None needed
Conclusion:*You will make the right choice, and will achieve a happy union, do not be swayed by material things, for they will come in their own time, after they have been earned. Be swayed by what your heart says at the present, not what you see or imagine in the future.

Hope I haven't overloaded you, and that this is of help. Let me know if you have any

Here's the go. I did what's called Odin's Spread. I'm sure it's called many other things
as well. It has the basic Past-Present-Future aspect with the added Distant Past and
Distant Future on each end.

OO OO (trying to do this online never works)
On the far right representing the distant past we had Ansuz murkstave (inverted).
Next on the right representing the recent past we had Hagalaz.
Above in the middle we had Wunjo murkstave, representing the present.
Just left of that we had Nauthiz for the near future.
And on the far left we had Sowulo, representing the distant future.

As with Hope, I'll give you what I wrote straight away - my stream of consciousness.
Distant past: you've had communication problems, maybe you weren't hearing what
the universe was telling you. You didn't speak up so maybe look at yourself a bit. That
was then, this is now, don't dwell on what you did/didn't or could/couldn't do then.
You did what you did/could so stop worrying about, because whatever it was, you
were meant to.

Yep, recently we've had a bit of upheaval haven't we! Not good - I'm seeing heavy rain
cloud and it's bucketing down - but there's the Sun on the horizon. You have actually
been right in your element all this time, but just unable to move freely. You've had a
heap of setbacks and walls thrown up in front of you, and right now you feel like you
can't get any joy - that there's nothing to be happy about. Your heart has gone out of
the things that you love, but you know not where it went. "What's the point?" you
want to know.

Hagalaz suggests that this horrible time will ultimately bring change for the better, but
you need to weather the storm, batten down the hatches. There, in your figurative
cabin, there is much to be grateful for, and much to love. It may not be what you want
right now, but wait.

Pretty soon, you're going to feel that Need for what you want and deserve more
keenly. Hagalaz seems to progress naturally to Nauthiz (they are consecutive runes in
the Elder Futhark), but instead of the ice of Isa which succeeds Nauthiz in that order,
we have its antithesis - Sowulo, the Sun. your hoping and praying will pay off and you
will find what you need in the end. The move from Nauthiz to Sowulo suggests that it
will be quite unexpected after you have undergone a strengthening trial, the glory and
energy of Sowulo will be an achievement won through effort and you will reap the
rewards. Nauthiz comes as a warning for this trial ahead, but do not fret - forewarned
is forearmed as Freya Aswynn says.

After this I've got three simple Norn-like statements:
1. You haven't listened, and have been warned.
2. You can find no joy.
3. You will need nourishment, and you will find it.

Next I did a Geomantic reading.
Judge:*Acquisitio - gain, profit, success, a light spirit, associated with Sagittarius and Pisces.
Witnesses: 1.*Populus - The People - control of the situation may not be in your hands
2.*Acquisitio - same again
Mothers: 1.*Amisso - loss, ending, defeat, dispersion
2.*Cauda Draconis - exit, termination, endings, leaving things behind
3.*Carcer - the cell, prison, confinement, OR preservation, protection and insulation
4.*Puer - the Boy, youth, rashness, an employee, but also energetic and enthusiastic
Reconciler?:*None needed
Conclusion:*The outlook is all good. Gain profit and success. A light spirit, and a feeling of community. Populus with Acquisitio suggests that while the decision may not be up to you, you are favoured in every way. Show respect to your peers and do not judge without cause.

Ultimately I'll say that things may seem bad now, but as you know, every cloud has a silver linging, and the wheel keeps on turning. She nailed it dead on the two guys were night and day different.

Both have good qualiites -- and it's easy to show a girl what you want her to see and not the whole thing

well I went and stayed with one and saw too many things that were not right and were unstable ---- like holes in the wall (yes from his hand --- he would never do that again (uh huh)) and being clingy -- shakes head

I made some runes a while back out of a green stone. I carved them with a glass etcher and painted them with model car paint. They held up pretty well.

Does anyone here do the tea leaves?

Never tried tea leaves - tasseomancy, great word innit? - and I personally don't put much stock in it. Seems to me to be making something out of nothing, like saying "That cloud looks like a potato" when most of them do, and "Potatoes mean such and such." But I do understand that it works on the same system as all divination - energies of the querent imbued into objects which place themselves "randomly", which act as a trigger for the intuition or deep mind of the reader, so I certainly can't refute it.

Hey everyone, I'm back! LOOOONG time...

Gala, howzit? It really would help to know the question, but from what I can see, at the most basic level, you have a strong and good foundation, balanced and well-deserved. What you now face is a challenge which you must not shy away from but tackle head-on to get the full benefits. It may help to take some time out - I'm always loath to suggest mundane things like "take a holiday", but maybe you should take a holiday! :lol: At the very least go somewhere which is NOT where and when you are right now - distance brings perspective.

The outcome does indeed look good, but my heart tells me it may not be the joy you expect. But, you will get what you wish for, which is indeed cause for joy. What is important to remember when you get there is how joyous it really is, don't be held back by niggling doubts and wishing you had this or that. Take joy in your achievment! It will be great.

For the future, I'm thinking things may not be in your hands - which tells me you need to trust that things will go the way they are meant to.

I wonder if I can have a reading? I never had one and so I did not know all about this till I joined MV. What is required to have a reading? What do you mean by general reading?

Yep you can have a reading and i can do it today if you like :)
The question you need to decide is do you want a reading about in general, basic stuff or
somethng specific like relationship, or finance or career.

Don't tell me a whole big story, simply a category. You don't have to tell a reader all of the details and back story, and then have them mold something around that. (that is called a fake reading :))

So either pm me or put it here let me know the topic you choose and I do it today.

i've been going through difficult/stressful emotional times lately... i don't know what do do with my current boyfriend, all we do is argue, and i think it's all my fault, but my friends whom i've asked say it's more his fault than mine, because he's not respecting my space, though it does take two. i just don't know what i should do, we've tried so hard to work things out... i don't know i if i should keep at it, or if it's going nowhere

Hello Everyone,

I'm in need of a Rune Reading. Here is the situation. Last weekend my Girlfriend freaked out and left me because she said she wanted a relationship, when we first met she only wanted to be friends with benefits. I told her that I to wanted a relationship but that I only agreed with her because it was what she wanted. So to make a long story short. I talked to her about giving "US" a chance and that we would take things slow from here on out and that we would get to know one another better and take it from there. She agreed, So now the problem is that she hasn't wanted to talk to me since last Monday when she said that we would talk. I'm giving her time to think about all that was said and haven't tried to contact her since last Wednesday when I sent her a card.

So my own Rune readings are saying that she will return to me soon like within a month. But I am in need of another prospective on the readings. Can anyone please help me in this matter and do a reading for me.

My husband is Air Force and has put together his package to crosstrain into another job which is Space Satelite Operations where they have 20 openings. He will take his package to Scott AFB, IL on Monday to submit it and then they send it to Randolf AFB in TX who makes the final decision. Although I am very confident that my husband will gain a spot and get his crosstrain, he for some reason thinks he won't. I'd like to know what you can find out for us on this outcome, ya or nay and any other info you may see. Getting this would be extremely good news and a large move for our family this year to Vandenberg AFB, CA. We have our fingers crossed and if I did the reading I know I'd influence it.

I find this especially disturbing since I've always been idealistic and goal-oriented, and have worked hard to achieve what I have in life. I have big plans for the coming years and the thought of failure and sorrow as the "essence" my life gives me shudders!

Am I missing something or do you think there's reason to worry?

I don't know if this is the correct thread to ask a question regarding reading Tea Leaves (Tasseography), but I've recently picked up this form of divination. I have a question regarding a distinct symbol I've found in my reading: a BADGER. Based on the books I have--as well as the sources I've found online--on symbols, Tasseography, and dream interpretation, the common thought behind seeing or receiving the image of a BADGER denotes persistence and final victory over your opponents; as well as succeeding on your own. My question was regarding my career path and the direction it's taking (i.e. moving up the ladder, etc.).

Any additional thoughts on this? Further, would anyone recommend a good book or resource for symbol interpretations?
