Absolutely, and usually for the positive.

However hash and peyote are tough to score in the suburbs. Weed is easier to get a hold of, and should enhance your experience significantly.

More precisely, Holy Mother of Sweet Merciful Crap. . .

Anywho, yeah, smoking commercial tobacco has about the same effect on your majick as would taking small portions of rat poison each day--worse, actually, because rat poison (nicotine) is just one ingredient added to cigarettes.

Maybe it's just because I'm broke but, how much point is there to smoking a normal cig? It's just filled with crap that'll kill ya, and way expensive. When you're not underage I guess it's not quite as expensive but still. Waste of money if you ask me. It won't get you high, smells bad, and will kill you.

Does anyone smoke natural tobacco here? I have wild tobacco & am growing some this year. So far, only one seedling has popped up. I don't smoke at all but am planning to use it in herbal bags & fetishes.

Wildchild,

No, I don't smoke. Anything. (Cigarettes are disgusting, for all the reasons listed above. And smoke in my lungs makes me want to take them out of my chest & scrub them.)

I have, however, used pure, natural tobacco in ritual. And having done so, I can understand why the Native American's considered it sacred. It's rather... potent.

Kate, I would be interested in hearing how you use the tobacco. I usually use it as a smudge or incense base. I buy the natural tobacco from the health food store or herbal store. This is my first year growing it myself. I'm quite excited to see how they will turn out. :)

Yes, we burned it over charcoal. As I recall, on that occasion, we mixed it with dragon's blood.

(A hermetic & I were doing "clean-up" on a site where someone had been working... black magic. Only word for it. There was stuff done with blood & feces that one of my contractors had to clean up... he found a bunch of the guy's tools.... it was all very unpleasant. Poor contractor -- who wasn't at ALL comfortable even talking about it -- had nightmares from what he found.)

If you know anything about Qaballah, Tobacco is the incense for Geburah. Dragon's blood is purifying, exorcising, and "magnifies" whatever it's burned with. Smudged the whole frellin' place before we got down to Work.

Used straight tobacco a few times afterwards (we had left-over) in my Work-room. It's heady stuff.

Thanks for the tobacco info, Kate! I'm going to look into the Quaballah connection. I usually mix it with sweetgrass & sage.
