My advice is to read the Where to Start, Help for New Pagans, and Some Cool Links for Newbies threads stuck at the top of this forum, the Recommended Reading List stuck at the top of our Books forum, and Favourite Pagan Resources stuck at the top of the Pagan Geek forum. Read, research, learn, and ask questions - we love to help true seekers here :)

Brightest blessings and welcome to Mystic Wicks.

:wave: Welcome, welcome, welcome! The natives can get a bit restless, but they seem to be a very friendly bunch, especially where new people are concerned. I was new just like you a week ago. Now look at me. I'm queen of a tribe of Oopsians, madam in a brothel in a collaborative Western story, and generally insane. (It's been a fun week.)

;) But seriously, advice would be to study, keep an open mind, read all you can, listen to your common sense, and stay away from Silver Ravenwolf's books until you've got about three years of study under your belt. :D

What is everyone's problem with Silver Ravenwolf? I started out with her Teen Witch book :/ I think she's an awesome writer and I really learned a lot from her book. I've read a lot more since then, but still.

Hi, we have a book forum if you want to discuss Silver RavenWolf.

Let's try to keep this to greeting Kashmir rather then bashing authors, k? :p

:wave::wave: Welcome to MW!! :wave::wave:

I'd suggest doing a search and/or going to the beginner's section of a bunch of websites. ;)

Welcome and Blessed Be!

I'm sure these have been mentioned within some of the suggested links and stuff, but check out the Covenant of the Goddess page (www.cog.org). Among other things, they provide a very good list of reading on their site that covers a number of traditions within Wicca. We're such a diverse bunch, and getting a sampling of the "community" is kind of like dinner at a smorgasbord - a little of everything, and you don't have room for it all at one sitting.

Take is slow, and don't be surprised if somethings you read contradict one another. As I tell my students, read, read, read, think about what you have read, then read and read some more!

Enjoy and see you around!
