I've read a bit about Runes and even tried my hand at making my own set. They're not the prettiest things though  . I never got into trying my set and I seemed to have misplaced them :2G:

Today, though, for no apparent reason I looked Runes up and I was immediately drawn to Laguz. Now I don't know all their names, meanings and symbolism so I looked it up and was suprised how it fit with what was going on in my life now.

I have this continual ocean obsession (and general draw to water) and I've been trying to figure out what it's about; I don't know if this Rune is linked to it or not.

The sites I read said it was linked to the feminine, water, tides, the moon, ocean, going with the flow, intuition, clensing, the unknown and things like that. And it also mentioned it being used (magically) for stabilizing mental or emotional disorders.

I've mentioned before how I have anxiety and other mental problems so the Rune seems to fit that aspect as well.

So I'm wondering (because I think I'm drawn to this Rune for a reason) if there is anything I can do with it. I know sigils (?) can be used for protection and rituals (I don't know how they're done though), but what else is there? Meditations? How does it stabalize mental disorders? And does anyone have any idea why I would be drawn to this Rune and not any other?

Thanks. :)

Laguz
Letter Value: "L" Phonetic Value: “L”
Translation: Waterfall (Lake)
Kenning: Laguz represents water & all the things associated with it: emotions, spirituality, psychic abilities. In a reading, this rune generally indicates that your emotional waters are not calm; you should take the necessary steps to smooth the waves. Laguz might also be indicative of an awakening or furthering of your psychic abilities. This rune could also be speaking to you of your spiritual path. (excerpted from RUNE CHARMS PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS OF RUNE MAGIC Volume One by Rick R. Wilson)

If you look in the Practical Rune Magic thread stuck near the top of the Magic Forum, you'll find a couple of charms that incorporate Laguz (specifically, numbers 1 & 2). These charms can be used with simple candle magic (as detailed in the threads), or can be drawn on paper or carved into wood or Sculpy-type clay to be carried or worn. A Laguz rune can also be drawn or carved to be carried or worn. By just looking at the picture in your sig, I think we can safely deduce why you're drawn to the rune of water...

I must have missed that went I did a search here. Sounds like that I was thinking of.

 Yeah. I am drawn to water.
It was just weird because without knowing what Laguz meant, I was drawn to it.

Yay, I just found my Runes.
They're nothing fancy. Just those little glass "pebble" things that people put in fish tanks and things, round-ish top and flat bottom. Anyway, mine are clear with the runes in black.

:dancy:

I'm reading up about it all now.
