Well, they're not real donuts, but you could do what they do in all the Chinses restaurants around here: fry up some refrigerator biscuits and sprinkle sugar on them. Put a couple of inches of oil in a heavy deep saucepan and get it pretty hot, but not smoking, then drop the biscuits in two or three at a time. Flip them when they start to get brown and take them out with a slotted spoon when the other side is ready. Drain them on a couple of paper towels. They're not too bad.
