What simple magick should I start with if I am new at Wicca? Does anyone have any spells they can give me that are beginners?

Welcome :)

Well for a start, I wouldn't jump into any spellcasting right away. Practice raising energy and circlecasting first. Make sure you're comfortable with visualization/grounding/centering first.

I don't think it's advisable to do a spell just to try it out and see if it works.

Browse through the posts here, there's lots of information. Also, when you're ready to try spellcasting there's many, many spells available online for pretty much every aspect you can think of (you have to be careful though, 'cos there are alot of bad karma spells online too).

When you're ready to try spellcasting, perhaps it would be good to start with a simple self-love spell or something like that.

I'd suggest something simple such as a healing spell for yourself..Nothing too hard. :) (That's what I started out with anyway) hehe

A self-love spell is similar to confidence and healing spells. It's good as a beginner's spell, because you're only working on yourself, not trying to influence external events, so it can't really backfire on you.

The point of a self-love spell is to love yourself unconditionally, because if you don't love yourself, how can anyone else? I think in many cases when people are looking for a love spell, what they really need is a self-love spell (but that's just my not so humble opinion ;) ).

I've never done one, so I can't give you any specifics, but I would think that they would be done just like a normal love spell, only focussed on yourself.

I really like the affirmations, looking at the things about us that we usually don't like and understanding how they reflect the Goddess within us. It sure was hard to read it on that dark purple background though. Maybe it would look better on a pink background . . . pink for love, ya know?

Hi Icedrops! Welcome to Mysticwicks! If you check out the New Pagan forum, there is a stuck thread talking about visualizations & grounding. That would be a good place to start. Good visualization & grounding techiniques are very important to any spell work.
