Test your energy feeling test with this.
Don't hesitate, and do it right away, without thinking.
Visualize continuous lightning bolts striking your entire body from above.
Reapeat aloud with willpower 3 times: Om Vajraman Taya Swaha
Breath in DEEEEEEEPPP and HOLDDDDDDD! 10-20 seconds; focus on your base chakra.....................................
Release after 10-20 seconds.
Relax and feel.
What is the feeling around and inside your thorso general area?
Around your head?
Around your base chakra and hips?
In the palms of your hands?
Base chakra feeling: creative and grouding energy.
Torso: ability for compassion and therapy
Head: meditative and visionnary
Hands: you got experience, or your abilities are developing well, there was nothing supposed to influence your hands here specificaly, and they have naturaly opened because of the extra energy flow.

My heart had a sudden aching pain, hands were tingly, power in solar plexus, head had pressure.
Interesting. Thanks for that post.
Now, what does "Om Vajraman Taya Swaha" mean?

I too would like to know what the words mean - before I try doing something like this.
Seems a rather extreme experiment actually, I can think of better ways of feeling energy than to basically invite it to "attack" me.

I agree with Lunacie...I'm skeptical, yet even I hesitate to mutter words whose meanings I don't know. I looked it up, and it seems to be Indian or Sanskrit for something along the lines of "Oh thunderbolt, to glory/sacrifice."
It seems hard to translate. Might I ask, why is this in the helping hands and hugs section?
Oh and Lunacie, what exercies would you recommend?

There are several excercises listed in the Circle of Teaching forum, but I learned a new one last weekend. Sit down and get comfortable. Take three breaths and let them out slowly. This helps you to "center" yourself and focus on yourself and what you are feeling instead of being distracted by everything around you.
Visualize sparkling white or gold light (energy) pouring down on top of your head, washing down over your aura in a steady stream. Then open your aura and feel the sparkling energy soaking in, in past your aura, all the way in to your center (solar plexus).
When I did this I felt "tingly" from the energy, and I've gotten so used to working with energy that it's been a long time since I felt that. :)
This way it's just you - and the energy. You're not asking (or demanding) that anyone or anything else ZAP you with energy.

Okay, ya got me curious... this is all I could find, may be what you found too?
http://www.kujiin.com/rin.php
Visualize a red shining light descending from Heaven into your body, and lighting a flame at your Base Chakra, the region between your anus and your sexual organs. Relax and begin the visualization, perform the mudra, chant the prayer mantra calmly, slowly or quickly, as you wish, (or even at an accelerating tempo, then come back suddenly to a slower tempo. The Base Chakra is the point where the Sacred flame emerges into your energetic body.
Hmmm, doesn't sound like "lightning" the way I think of lightning...
Shinto: In this kuji-in practice, the Shinto Buddhists are referring to Amaterasu, a feminine Goddess. Amaterasu is described as the Goddess from which all light emanates, and is also often referred to as the sun goddess because of her warmth and compassion for the people who worshipped her; an interpretation of "light" or "heat" as passion, or purity. She emits lightning into the body to give it life force. She is like the light of creation.
But - since I've never studied this language - I could pronounce the words entirely wrong and get something completely different than "sacred fire", eh? http://mysticwicks.com/images/icons/icon11.gif

Lunacie, are you familiar with the placebo effect? Or the possibility that you may have a feeling in a certain area of your body simply by focusing attention on it?
Where do you feel that one must draw the line between simple, natural bodily functions and the flow of energy?

Hey there! Sorry for the long wait, i've been so busy. I'm expecting a newborn son in the next 2-3 weeks so i'm preparing everything (precision: my WIFE will give birth, i'm building the walls and painting :) )
Om Vajraman Taya Swaha
OM: universal sound
Vajra: lighthing of a divine source
Man: makes it more tangible than conceptual
Taya: his/her/to
Swaha: call of glory to...
This mantra is a Sanskrit phrase that invokes the presence of the Divine Spark, or the life force that comes intensely in the body. It is usualy used during rituals of sacrifice made to the Hindu goddess Indra, the goddess of Lightning.
Don't worry about the meaning, the only thing this mantra can do is call life into your body with more intensity.
Yes, it is used in a kuji-in practice that involves fire at the base chakra, and does not seem to be related at first to lighting. In the same way, you can use baking flower to make cookies, bread, cakes, with chocolat, cheeze or nuts,... many combinations exist that don't look alike.

Invoking divine lightning is not inviting it to "attack" you. It simply creates a more intense experience so that the feeling of energy will reveal itself more.
Powerful mages and healers don't simply wait to softly let the little gentle flow of natural energy come in. They trigger it to creat the most efficient and direct experience, so that the awakening process can be done faster. Letting everything go softly is correct,... for those who don't mind attaining results in a much longer time laps.

I tried the technique, by the way, and nothing happened.

If you tried the technique once, and nothing happened,... i might just mean you actually are... hum... normal :hahugh:
Some people can take quite a few times before they actually feel something, but it does not mean nothing is going on, but only that something is working its way. Eventually, you might just feel the effect of kuji-in practices.
In any case, you will allways feel more effects from the techniques you feel more attracted to.
