OKay, from this card, I get.....

The feeling of hope and faith. I also feel that there is a balance of emotions. I feel she's vunerable, but secure. I also feel that it is emotions pouring fourth, an emotional release that will leave her feeling relieved.

okay....that's what I get. The bird in the background stumps me.....at the moment.

Okay, on my deck the star is pretty much represented the same way, nude blond woman kneeling with left leg upon the earth and her right foot planted in the water. She is pouring water onto the grass and into the water from two bowls (the right into the water and the left onto the land). There are snow capped (?) or white mountains in the background. The fields are green between the mountains and where shekneels at the water's edge. A tree is barely visible to her left and a flowering bush with blue bell-like blossoms are growing on the bank. Above her in the sky are seven small stars surrounding one very large bright star.

Eight stars... the eight sabbats perhaps? The pouring of the water...equal effort (blood, sweat, tears, ect.) going into the physical (earth) as well as the spiritual or emotional (water, pond, lake). Maybe representing an equinox celebration. I can see the outpouring as a release of some kind....probably emotional or spiritual.

I would think the stars in the sky represent hope, you know the 'wish upon a star' thing.... and the fact that they are glittering so brightly. One in particular is large and bright. I think that is her wish/intent being made manifest. And the water/liquid is her offering of thanks to the Divine.

I just thought about the fact that the moon phases are approximately 7 day periods... perhaps a time table? A phase will pass before her wish/intent will manifest?

One more thought, but the bird in the background.... possibly symbolic of her intent/wish being sent out. The freeing of her spirit from the release? The freedom of new found hope? I always see birds flying in the background as escape or release, and like the bald eagle a symbol of freedom. Maybe the bird is her familiar, or her higher self or her spirit guide. More food for thought anyhow...LOL!

Just speculation, I don't have very good results with this card but I love seeing it pop up cause it always challenges me!

This is one of my favourite cards! And when i save up enough cash, I plan to buy this one from the traot jewellery collection!
It also fits so well with me right at this moment ~ today! :D

To me it means the the querrant has lots of wishes, luck and ambitions in their life. This is great but they have to be carefull not to be too dreamy and not to have too many flase hopes as they might not come true!
Set your dreams and wishes high but not too high.
She also symbolises hope! Light at the end of the tunnel!

Water is there for balance and emotions. Stars are for wishes and the eight sabbats. & I think the bird is singing to her and telling her to be bright and hopefull, that a new day/time is begining and to be hopefull.

Look on the bright side of life!

Hi all!
Well,I see the Goddess in all her glory. Her role in intuition and emotion, her power, being poured upon the physical plane. The bird is freedom. The stars the 8 Sabbats. To me this card fits really well with being a Witch.I'm reminded of the clear spring from which the Priestesses of the Goddess drank in the book,The Mists of Avalon. She pours her power on our intuition/emotion to keep these in tune, and the same power poured on Earth helps us translate this power to the physical.

DESCRIPTION

People have always looked to the stars as a source of inspiration and hope. There is something about their twinkling light that draws us out of ourselves and up into a higher plane. When we turn our eyes heavenward, we no longer feel the distress of earth. The Star reminds me of the clear, high voice of a soprano. There is something otherworldly about it. All the harshness and density of everyday life has been refined away leaving only the purest essence. After being exposed to the Star, we feel uplifted and blessed.

In readings, the Star is most welcome when grief and despair have overwhelmed us. In our darkest moments, we need to know that there is hope, that there is light at the end of the tunnel. The Star is the opposite of the Devil who strips us of our faith in the future. Card 17 holds out the promise that we can eventually find peace of mind. The Star also reminds us to open our heart and release our fears and doubt. If you have been holding back in any way, now is the time to give generously.

It is important to remember that the Star is inspiring, but it is not a card of practical solutions or final answers. Truly without hope we can accomplish nothing, but hope is only a beginning. When you see Card 17, know that you are on the right track. Your goals and your aspirations are blessed, but to realize them, you must take positive action. Use the light of the Star to guide you in your efforts.

Merry Merry,
That the STAR card is represented by a woman who is pouring water and is a creatureof the earth?
Sometimes the esoteric meaings (eso.... the root meaing inner, exo..... the root meaning outer) hence esoteric and exoteric meanings. Outwardly, she appears to represent someone who can manage the energy between both worlds, the earth and water, but her name brings in the connection with the heavens, and takes us from the obvious to the hidden. In the physical worlds hope ,
"remember thou, son of earth, that hope is the sister of faith.........if arcanum XVII should appear
in the prophetic signs of thy horoscope, whatever may happen in life, never injure the flower of hope, and thou
wilt gather the fruits of faith"
Author unk.
So it stand to reason if you injure the flower of hope, that you will reap not the flower of faith, but another fate shall befall.
In Divination this card can also mean TRUTH HOPE OR FAITH for they cannot be separated. And truth can only be discerned when preconcieved notions and dogmatic beliefs; which are the artifices of civlisation, are shed. The fluid is poured from a silver cup to the ocean to show us the emotions must be nurtured to allow
man to grasp the inner truth of things. The astrological correspondent to the star in some ancient egyptian systems is Gemini, because before truth must come perception.
The alchemical correspondence is the fountain of youth, and the union of silver and gold has become the magical elixer of life which" some have had ready to hand and failed to recognise. " CCZ
In magic the star represents the internal and external truth, so care needs to be taken that on does not
wish to deceive others. The soul response to truth is unmistakeable, and cannot be forever mistaken for emotional responses to thought forms.
The star represents the attainment of innocence , and the ability to soul center.

Love and Light of a billion stars to guide us
