OBE, astral travel, ascension & transfiguration crystals

ok ... there's probably a thread somewhere ... if so, point me there ... but my question is ....

i'm working on OBEs or astral travelling or ascending or transfiguration ... i believe they are all the same thing, or at least the basics are the same ... and while i'm doing the work on the 'deep relaxation' required ... i wanted to know what experience anyone has had with OBE, ascending, astral travel, ascension or transfiguration using a crystal and/or any suggestions relating to that would be appreciated.

i'm currently working with a rainbow quartz crystal that looks like the washington monument (i forget what that shape is called), and a cut & polished piece of moldavite. sitting on the table near by is my ruby/kyanite/quartz piece.

I have no experience with the crystals you mentioned, but I had good results with iolite crystals.

what is the difference working with iolite crystals to say nothing at all?

Try working with some apatite.

I think a generalized answer for this would be that many people find it easiest to carry through with this type of work using a focal point. The focal point works best if it is something that can easily "draw you in". Many right now are having lots of success using Castle Quartz with doors or windows. Today they are known as Lightbraries. Somewhere in this formation people find a spot which to them looks like a door. They use this "door" as a gateway or projection point.

Ideally I don't use anything to help or assist me in the journey out but I do have an "anchor" so to speak to make sure my way back is always open and safe but that's just me. When my time is limited or when I'm not in a familiar comfort spot a focus point helps however.

I personally try not to do this type of work more than 1 or 2 times a year cause it takes so much out of me. But then again I'm getting old :p

wolf ... yes it takes lots of energies ... any suggestions on an anchor ... what properties or energy to look for that purpose?

Apatite has a vibration I find highly condusive to moving outside one's self - if I wear too much of it without something else like onyx or obsidian I find myself really floaty, or thinking out of the top of my head.

Here's a pic of my anchor... it's a big a$$ smoky quartz floater about 15 inches long and 10 inches wide. The fact that it's a floater plays an important role in it. when I do this away from home I stick with a smoky quartz floater but smaller

thanks for sharing your information ... lovely picture wolf!!! smokey quartz ... makes sense ... haven't heard of a floater quartz before, but could see how just from the name it would be connected to that type of energy work.

transfiguration is a form of shapeshifting........astral travel is just that travel spiritually.
When I do astral travel I do it also with an anchor......my anchor is a pic of jet and amber. The amber for it's life forces and Jet for its grounding ability. When I was young and doing this I would place my tower quartz crystal over my solar plexis chakra (to go with me) when I was performing healings while astral traveling. This quartz now rests in the top of my staff. It is approx 10+ inches long with a tabbi crystal at its base.

prophesy ... yes, thank you so much. i'm still working on the fundamentals of relaxation, focus and energy buildup, etc., required for both disciplines ... my goal is obe by 40 (next birthday) ... we will see whether i get into the whole transfiguration thing as well ... right now working on the prepartory basics. any tips or advice is always welcome!!!

What stone do you associate astral travel to, and if so, how strongly. It is one thing to hear lots of things like "Quartz is good for cleansing...etc..." and actually know that it does.

The trick is to establish a personal relationship with the stone in reference to OBE's. The best way I can help is to try [not try, any of you may object to the first :)] to have a projection 'naked'. Then you can apply the energy of the projection to a stone to aid in returns. Tools are quicker ways of doing things you have already mastered, not things that propel learning. This is why there is the old adage, "You will find the tools when you are ready."

absolutely i agree ...
i think i attribute more "amplification" with quartz more than cleansing, which is why i've been working with it with the raising of my 'double' energy ...

and yes, i'm still not to the 'deep relaxation' place yet, as i'm very earth base and dense, so the relaxation is absolutely necessary for me to get there (where for some others who are more air or fire based wouldn't need such a level) ... you are so right about the tools, and their timing in your life ... recently astro.com changed their standard 'orbs' on their astro charts and revealed a new line on my chart for me to examine (after looking at my chart on their service for over 5 years!) ... EYE OPENING, indeed.
