Never ending winter. My personal take on that, the next ice-age. Possibly anyway. Who can say for sure though, you know? About the only thing I can think of in regard to the examples you gave, would be a nuclear winter, everything being destroyed through nuclear war and there being nothing left of the planet and the subsequent upheavals in climate and such. Then again, I'm not so fatalistic as all that.
