Y'know, I didn't see an orgy mentioned in there explicitly. . . of course, I've never been to a clothing-optional event; and the only other Pagan events I've gone to were either very small in scale or were with my (now)-ex as a tagalong--so I didn't really get to find out.

I know, I know, it's a Bealtuinn event, and it's clothing-optional; and I can put two and two together. But has anyone actually, umm, experienced such an event firsthand?

I Know, in fact, the guy who handles the registration and well lots of other things on this festival is my priest. *I've known him since I was 7*

This is this festivals second year. I have an idea.. I'll pester George\Turtle and see if I can get him to come on MW and tell you all more.

It's not an orgy. Don't go getting all wacko. Yes sex happens at such events, hence why this is an "adult" event.

Both Free Spirit Gathering and the Beltane fest. are clothing optional. Sex happens regardless of clothes though when you put people\couples in an atmosphere where they are with others on beautiful campgrounds for more than 3 days. Fact is this is celebration of sex and religion. It isn't about balling people on feilds but learning more about the sacredness of sex, learning new things to incoprate into your sexual lives some religious, some not, and about safety in both game and the general aspects of sex. I'd suggest bringing a partner. Read the list of workshops.. tantra.. safe sex... wear what you dare dance..

This is a "small scale" even, as of now I believe there are only 130-150 people attending Beltane.

As for clothing optional pagan events, they don't lead to sex and mayhem, get the republican notion out of your head. There are a lot of rules regarding tact and privacy, not to mention humans are still as human as they were with clothes off as they are with clothes on. Give us some credit here. Just because we don't have shame in the body doesn't mean we believe in tossing it around like meat and abusing it like cattle.

Stop presuming I have any "agenda" other than simple curiosity. I asked a question, looking for a simple answer. Maybe you're used to people crying about the immorality of it all. . . and that's fine, but that's no excuse to presume that's where someone is going until/unless they come out and say it.

As a discordian, it is my ethos to at least ATTEMPT to turn EVERY social gathering into an orgy. Some crowds are tougher than others. Whereas it may take just a little prodding at one of my parties, I have little hope of success at say, the release meeting I have to run here at work tomorrow morning.
