Ok,here's the deal.....I'm allergic to regular store bought deoderant so I've been using an all natural powdered deoderant that has a lovely lavender scent. I love it but it is soooo expensive.
Anyway, does anyone out there have a recipe so that I can make it myself? I sure would appreciate it cause I'm broke right now and I will be needing some pretty soon.

I'm allergic to the store bought stuff too. I use a crystal deodorant now - you can buy those in most stores nowadays.

Thank you so much for the responses!
I'm a crafty witch when it comes to these things so I made up my own little recipe.
I'll wait to actually try it out until the weekend so as not to scare anyone at work if it isn't just right. We'll see what happens!

Oooh yay, well if it works nicely you'll have to share your recipe. :D
I know that dusting powders are normally made with cornstarch, dried ground honey and essential oils. I'd like to hear about yours.

I can tell you what I did right now since you seem interested.
I used....
!/2 cup of cornstarch
1/2 cup of baking soda
Dried patchouli
Dried sage
Dried lavender
Sandalwood
Tea tree essential oil
Lavender essential oil
I ground up the dried herbs into a fine powder with a coffee grinder(I eyeballed the herbs) and sifted them through a strainer with the cornstarch and baking soda. I added about 3 drops of tea tree oil and 5 drops of lavender oil and then sifted the mixture again so that it wouldn't be lumpy and then I put it all in a jar with a powder puff that I have.
It has set all day and I smelled it when I got home. It smells pretty good but I'm thinking about adding just a bit more lavender cause mine doesn't smell as strong as the deoderant I was paying $10 for.

That sounds just lovely! *smiles*
Depending on how fragrant it is after sitting a couple more days I guess you could just add a few more drops of lavender oil. Sounds like it'd be really nice though.

Woo that's good news! :D
I'll have to give this homemade deoderant thing a whirl...
Do you find the powders messy to apply or that it marks up darker clothes and fabrics?
(I wear a lot of black...)

Well,I apply it with a powder puff so it is a little messy.
I also wear dark clothing quite a bit,so I put my shirt on first and pull the shirt out as I apply the powder. If I applied the powder first and then put the shirt on,then yeah,it does get on the shirt but it does come off of the shirt though.
