I thought it would be a neat idea, if everyone wanted to, to come here at the end of your day and talk a little about how your day went. I guess this would be sort of an open on line journal for everyone to come and discuss what ups or downs went on during the day. (I hope I'm posting this in the right category)
What do you think?:boing:
Did you have a good day....a bad day....care to talk about it????
Want others opinions/input?
I'll be back at the end of every day to post here.

Good idea. A place to come let off some steam and maybe give others some moral support if they've had a bad day or a bad experience.

Ahhhhh maybe a space to take a deep breath, sigh a breath of relief, say Whew, glad that's over with, or sigh in contentment gather your thoughts before you face the next part of the day or night.

I'll be first. I had a good day. I started it by visiting my dad and taking him to breakfast. We had a good visit then I came home, did laundry and posted several installments to the story. PM'd with some folks here on the sight to get some story ideas. went to SAM's Club for dog food, cat food and songbird seed. Now all the animals will be happy, the birds will sing in the morning and all will be well! :)

We continued our Spring celebrations today. Bought my son a Japanese Maple for his birthday & we planted that as soon as we got home. We had a nice little dedication ceremony for the tree & my son. Spent the rest of the day starting some more seeds & transplanting the bigger seedlings. A perfect Spring day! :sunny:

I went and got a table for my bedroom, then decided to paint my downstairs bathroom with some paint I had gotten in the oops section at home depot. It's a beautiful dark red wine color. Unfortunately, I only had a half a gallon, and I ran out (didn't realize red was so hard to take), so I have to go back to get some more. Both my kids had friends spend the night, so I had about 5 wild ones running around. My neighbor came over and we had a bottle of wine and chatted for a while. Nothing too spectacular, but all in all, a productive day. :)

I bought my second domain name, and hosting for it for a year, for only 64.00 from drak.net, which is a very good deal for me. I'm going to figaure out how to keep my mom from reading my blog before i set it up. Its name is tempiale.net, italian for temple. I've got lots of things i didn't before with hypermart, so thats pretty cool. I'm using domesticat.net(i think)'s tutorial to make it skinable from the start. Should be a fun project.

O yeah, got a new moniter, because after .. 6 years, i think, my computer is dying. Foo.

Well, yesterday was an interesting day.

My son & hubby went out in the morning to my MIL's house. They weren't expected back until 11:30. I thought...Great! I'm going to give myself a facial, hot oil treatment on my hair...the whole works! :)

Off I go to prepare the oatmeal face mask. Applied that to my face. Whipped up a nice concoction for my hair & applied that to my hair. The women here can understand how oily & stringy your hair will look now. I decided to really deep condition my hair & put on a plastic shower cap...the one with the hair dryer attached to it. The heat will REALLY make the oils work into my hair.

Just as I finished applying everything on, the doorbell rang. I looked out the window & saw two men wearing suits standing at the front door. Thought to myself...Oh Boy! :D So I answered the door, dressed in my holey t-shirt, baggy sweatpants, shower cap with the hair dryer running, oily stringy bits of hair hanging out of the cap, my face covered with oatmeal, and my fuzzy bear slippers! You should have SEEN the expression on their faces! It was so priceless. Apparently, they were from a neighbourhood church, inviting people from the area to attend! I don't think they'll be back to my house for a long time!

But my hair is nice & shiney & skin is so soft! ;)

Can't remember who mentioned it, but the Christmas elf at Macy's is from a piece by David Sedaris from the anthology Holidays on Ice, should you want to look it up.

Today, the day after I got back from skiing at Vail, I took my Mom to the doctor for her shoulder, which she broke skiing in the Blue Sky Basin, and shopped, and emailed half my friends to tell them I was back. Spent quality time with my pets, because there was withdrawl on both sides. I got my oil changed in the car, did some laundry, and checked my work schedule for the week. I so haven't missed real life. If the dog and cats could have come to Colorado, I would have just stayed.

Ok, well I should have posted last night but decided not to... too tired...

I almost got in a car accident on my way home - the guy 5 cars ahead decided to hit the guy ahead of him, hence causing a chain reaction of panic... and watching a car speeding towards you in your rear view mirror (after already having whiplash 3 times) is not the easiest thing to watch. But I was protected and he stopped... whew! then I saw 2 more accidents on the other side of the highway within 5 mins!...

So that was my drive home... right now we are gearing up for a blizzard.. 10-15 cm of snow! The drive home will be even more fun tonight!!! I'll keep yah posted!!!

I know it can be trying. My pop is a retired Baptist minister. I see him every Sat. morning and we go to breakfast and he says grace to god and I thank the god and goddess. That's the only time I pray in public, but I figure I can just take advantage of the situation.

Well, today went a little better than the rest of the week... It was payday after all! And after a much heated argument with phone company, my service was restored..brightening my day considerabley but still leaving me frustrated and irritated! I had a long night at work...ohhhh Friday is just the start of my week unfortunately, and after a long quiet thoughtful difficult and somewhat lonesome week tonight started very hard to get through. But, a phone call and the sound of a much needed to hear voice (does that make any sense to me and maybe someone else? Probably not but we know what it means:) ) Anyway, it wasn't nearly long enough, but it made all the difference in the world, hopefuly to both of us!! It made me cry a little, laugh a little and got me through the night! It was a wild night at work. And, then I came home to see a smile on the daughter's face because she has finally succeeded in paying off last year's tuition so she can go back to school next year!!!! So, while it was a difficult day, the little joys in it helped to make it all worth while.

Yesterday, my nephew was baptised, confirmed, & made his first communion. Yeah, all at once.
The church my brother & family belong to is not the Roman Catholic church I grew up in.
The service started in the dark, with the choir singing a song & the priest praying to the darkness. Then, the priest & some altar servers went up in the choir loft (the choir performs at the front of the church) & lit a fire, then prayed to welcome a new fire, & the choir sang a song about it. Then the servers lit candles from it, & carried then through the church, lighting candles that had been given to the parishioners, who lit the candles of the people next to them, until everyone had a lit candle. It was nice, but seemed awfully pagan for a Catholic mass.
The baptism was done in a hot-tub, because some churches are going for pentecostal-style full immersion. The confirmation was done by the priest, not the arch/bishop, & he really rubbed lots of oil into each person's face & hair. Communion wasn't the little white hosts, but chunks of what looked like big gingerbread cookies. The choir had a piano, guitars, drums, & a brass section, & did spirituals, & stuff I was always told was "Protestant' music.
I was my nephew's 'sponser', because the church doesn't have godparents anymore. Kids aren't given confirmation names anymore, either.
I was raised Catholic, & although I haven't been one for 30 years, I never though the church would have changed so much. This ceremony was completely alien to me.
Only one thing was the same...the church's stand on other faiths. My brother & sister-in-law asked me to be godmother (I was honored) because if something happens to them, I can afford to raise my nephew. But because I'm not Catholic any more, they had to get a second sponser (most only had one)...because a sponser had to be a confirmed Catholic.
That's what my yesterday was like. I felt as if I had landed on another planet.

Oh goodness... I spent the morning looking at all the "hidden" candy that my bro wanted out ( I ended up getting most of it, since he didn't pick it up).. Denied going to church with my mom ~ I really don't feel comfortable in there anymore. :( Spent the afternoon getting ready for my parents' big meal tonight, cleaning and so on and so forth. Helped cook the scalloped potato-stuff (does scalloped potatoes have mushroom soup in it??) then my aunt & uncle came over, I helped more in the kitchen, had supper, helped clean off the table and serve dessert, loaded the dishwasher and here I am.

Oh yeah, and in the middle of the afternoon I went on a walk down at the beach. It was a really nice day - the geese were out as well...Lovely site they are!

Ummmmm, sorry if I still have few tears in my eyes blurring my vision and causing typos... I spent most of my night at work tonight sitting by the side of much more than a resident, a patient of mine, but a friend. An elderly man with no family to speak of, no friends other than the few of us who have come to care about him over the years. I sat there with him, held his hand as he struggled for each and every breath, as he tried to smile back with tears in his eyes, as he whispered to me, When am I goin? And, I had to answer, I don't know but maybe soon?.... to which he replied, You gonna be here? Again, I had to answer, I don't know that either, but I'll try. He tried to squeeze my hand and smile and said, Well I'll try too. I tried to ease his mind and his heart, and let him know that all of those things he's done are in the past now, let him know in some way that it's okay to go and that there's nothing for him to fear on the other side. He told me the other night that he's going but he hopes someone up there will let him in so I know he's fearful and worried about what comes next. And, I cried a few tears when he told me I'm a good girl and that he'll make sure someone lets me in when I go!!

It was a really rough night for me and I'm pretty sure there a few more nights to get through with him before he lets go.

Wow! Dancin Girl I totally admire anyone who does that kind of work. My Aunt is a nurse who worked in a nursing home and would often lose a patient or two a week--I just couldn't imagine doing that for a living. But I'm completely in awe of anyone who can. So BIG HUGS your way!!!

Makes my weekend seem almost rediculous. Friday, while nursing a hangover, (I had gone to a big dinner party Thurs.), I went to Borders Books to spend a gift certificate. I got my usual Llewellyn Annuals (sun sign book, etc...) the new Witches Almanac and a great new book from Patricia Telesco called the Wiccan Web! (Check it out!) I also got a great book on 9/11, but it was really hard to choose out of the many that are out there now.

I woke up on Saturday and found that I had somehow sprained my wrist in my sleep! Please don't ask me how--I have no clue. LOL

Sunday was dull, boring and I loved every minute of it!!! I would've slept all day, but I had to tend to my sick little birdie. Poor thing is having a rough time right now, so I'm trying to spend as much time with her as I can.

Well folks, here's hoping this week brings good things to us all!!!
