Has anyone ever seen playing cards used for tarot? I know Bluecat used them when I was with him but I do not remember the way they translate. I have been working as a waitress and 2 times now a customer has left me the 4 of hearts. He is an older pagan gentleman and just smiles when I asked him the meaning the first time. Was just wondering if someone can tell me what card it is in the tarot deck or the meaning behind this THANKS

Hi Sherry,
From what I know, the 4 of hearts corresponds to the 4 of Cups in the Tarot... but I've never used playing cards for divination, so this is not from personal experience!

As I remember, playing cards originated through the tarot's minor arcana.
Hearts=cups
Clubs=wands
Diamonds=pentacles
Spades=swords

I don't know much about using playing cards for Tarot purposes, though I could only assume you take the numerology and the suit to divine.....similar to Tarot. :D
This is a link to possible meanings for the 4 of Cups (hearts)

Good luck in your search! :D

The four of hearts is a completeness/balance of emotions. (think of the 4 elements creating balance in the world, and translate the number 4 then to Hearts, which represents the emotional world).
Playing cards don't use the same definitions as Tarot, being why I like them, personally.
Hope it helps. :)
