this whole "find your path" thing is exhausting lol, to say the least..after reading posts and threads, and following what seems like countless links...i'm still not sure where i fall, but then i think i get the idea, the idea if "does it really matter?"

i believe in the Goddess, and that she has a conterpart, the God, but that they are a whole and one can't exist without the other

i believe the Earth is a living being and that we were placed here as an experiment gone terribly bad, but as a race we have done very well at making the most of what we have

i don't believe that complicated rituals and fancy cluttered alters will make what i have to say or ask be heard any better than if a prayed over a burning candle or by counting my prayers with my mantra beads.

i do believe that the Goddess and the God have provided us with the things that we need, sage to cleanse and moldy bread to heal (refined of coarse), stones to channel energy and oil to provide a better way of life.

if i must be labeled, then fine, call me eclectic or chaotic, or just call me a Pagan, but please don't call me a book-taught neo-pagan...i can feel that this is right, its in my blood, its just been suppressed by Christian rules and laws...

To each their own, and this is my own way, i have found my light

thank you

I'm glad some of this is coming together for you.

Here is a suggestion, take it or leave it. Print out what you posted here and tuck it in your day planner or calendar for next year...maybe 6 months or a year down the line. Then read it.

I think this is a good excercise for all of us, to periodically write what we believe or practice, and tuck it away.

Our understandings change over time and experience, and it's neat to see where we've been and the issues that mattered to us at different points of our journey.

Lot's of things that I "didn't believe in" have come to make sense to me after time, either through my own experience or those of others around me, and other things that were critically important to me have fallen away.

Sometimes...it can feel like we've made no progress...but when we read our old entries we are reminded that we've learned tons along the way.

Keep sharing here too please,

cheddar

Sounds like an Eclectic Wiccan (or Pagan if that suits you better) to me. Sounds like you found a very fitting term and leaves plenty of elbow room for you to evolve and grow.

And I'm glad you came to these conclusions. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is figure out what YOU believe in and not just follow what people say you should.

Many congrats.

Yes, I have a journal that I've been keeping for the past 2 1/2 years (I don't write everyday, lol) and I love to read back through it, see where I was, how my path has meandered and all the funny little pit stops along the way. I find it very educational.
