I'm not any of those, but i've been told that Metatron is one of the most powerful angels, and is, basically, Yahweh's 2nd in command, or someone who basically shares the same office as him, even managing the divine/human relations (i've read that Metatron was sometimes seen as the same as Yahweh, or seperate but just as powerful as him).
He seems very interesting, so hopefully there'll be others who can say more, as i do want to learn a lot about angelology (i think it was you who recommend learning about the Kababalh and Hermeticism, which is what i've been doing).

I know he used to be Enoch of the Book of Enoch fame. He was also the seventh patriarch from creation, his father was Jared and his son was Methuselah. He lived for 365 years before the Elohim took him and he became Metatron. In later mystic branches of the Jewish faith he was called the Little Yahweh or the angel closest to god.

The're supposed to be the voice of God. The ones we listen to instead of God, because hearing the voice of God themselves would be too much for our puny physicalities.
It's comparable to God casting shadows in their brightness, through the studying of which we're able to know God. The brightness itself would blind us.

Elishah ben Abuyah described Metatron as a second power in heaven... interesting.

Metatron is one of only two archangels to have been human. As was said, he was originally the man Enoch, and Sandalphon is said to be his brother, and only other archangel that was human. (the prophet Elijah)
Metatron is known as the heavenly scribe. He sits and writes all the goings on on earth.
He is knows as "The Lesser YHVH".

Thats quite interesting...In theological theory thats quite true...akin in some ways to the Devas...in place for us to worship and learn from becasue we cannot truly understand or are able to understand God.
