Which is better?

Its been a long while since I"ve taken out the Tarot cards, and given them a good dusting. I was just looking at the the other day and getting used to them again, and was wondering if it was better to go by the book for their actual meanins, or to listen to how the card makes you feel, and what you feel it means.

Well in the beginning its easier to go by the book. But when you get more practiced, the cards will show you things themselves; they might even change meanings depending on the reading! So if your mind tells you it means one thing, ignore the book. Go with what feels right, that's always best :D

Since I'm still pretty much a beginner, I sometimes go by the book. But I try to listen to the cards and use my intuition!

The best advice I was ever given about the Tarot, is to throw out the book. It's a crutch and you'll be more apt to "take a peek" to see how YOUR interpretation matches up with others. My advice is only use the book when you are drawing an absolute blank and NOTHING jumps out at you. Your intuition will grow strong if you rely less on the book. ;)
