I'm at a loss. I have the major gifts I want to get my son for Christmas, but I am having a horrible time thinking of little stocking stuffers and the like. To me, stocking stuffers are low-end cost presents, can be a gag gift of sorts, just little things.
Young men of MW! Please come to my aid. What would you like to have in your stocking, that meets the qualifications above? My son is in college, loves his iPod and laptop, and does the normal things that 19 year olds do.
Ideas, please???? :fpraise:

Gift cards are always nice..haha ;). Uhh..hmm...if he's into music maybe stickers of his favorite band...key ring, etc. You say he uses his computer a lot..maybe a few blank cd's or something. Not sure what else!

Cosmetic items are always nifty, like razors, shaving cream, body wash, facial cleaser, shampoo... I like getting candy too;) Socks, underwear, pyjamas... less exciting, but still very handy things.

Thank you, fellows. Some very good ideas, the razors, cards, etc. He's in a frat, so I've also been looking at items with the greek letters on them.

If my parents gave me condoms in a stocking I think I might go jump off a bridge into some traffic.

I think they make gift cards for the iTunes music store, so you could get him one and he could get a few songs for his iPod that way.

In addition to the iTunes gift card, you might want to think about iPod accessories. New faceplates, carrying cases, car adapters, etc. would all be good options.

I friend of mine (and his older brother) got condoms in his stocking every year since he turned 14. Heh, you could make a tradition out of it. :)

I caught my son with a girl when he was 13 - gave him a box of condoms the next day. Although he was embarrassed at the time, later he confessed he was grateful because he didn't really know how he was going to get some.
Whatever you think your son will like would be appropriate. He will love it because it came from Mom

Since I have Male Cousins, they go for Guy stuff, Socks, Under Shirts, Electronics Accessories, and even some smaller Items of Cowboy Gear (Most are in that line of work in my Family), But still, stuff that guys also enjoy are Music CD's maybe even a Portable CD Player (CD verison of a Walkman).
My other Cousins enjoy Movie DVD's and Music CD's and things of the Movies Genre.
So All of these are Ideas for you.
Gift Cards work best however, that way, they can get whatever it is that they want and they can say that you gave the item purchased to them.
They will Always remember that.

Hmm, I'm not sure. My mom used to buy me little journals w/ pens, gloves, stuff like that. But I haven't really had stocking stuffers in years. I can't think of what I'd like.
Perhaps a small bottle of his favourite fragrance(if it's not too expensive). Maybe some of that candy underwear they sell at Spencers and places. Just for a funny gag gift?
Not really sure. I'll have to get back to you on this lol.

I agree with Candy. You can never go wrong with candy. Maybe some school supplies? Funny pencils and erasers. Or coffee mugs with funny messages. If he lives at school, he'll certainly appreciate a coffee mug (you can never have too many...)

The iTunes card and the car adapter for his iPod -- I think he'd like both of those. And gloves - I don't think he has a pair. Candy, now that's a given! I, I mean SANTA, usually goes overboard on the candy. Which isn't a bad thing at Christmas.
And Rudas, I'll be giving him money, but he doesn't really like beer. What's wrong with kids these days? LOL
All your ideas have been great, and I appreciate them. Keep 'em coming, gang! I bet there are other moms out there watching this thread, and the more ideas the better. (girls are just so much easier to get things for ~~ boys are hard!)

Kinda creepy dude.
Evn though I'm almost 29 I act more like I'm 20 so I figure I can answer. All the above mentioned items are awesome. Blank cd's/dvd's would probably be good too, umm... oh, if he's into gaming (depending on the game) then some packs from a CCG (collectalbe card game like Magic, Street Fighter etc) would do the trick. My stocking is usually filled with dollar store stuff like cap guns, little remote control toys, frisbee's and other assorted stuff like that.
Good luck!

I agree with pretty much what everyone else said, like shot glasses (especially with funny, kind of sexual things on them e.g. i've seen ones that i want to get like one had Swallow on it, written in white, made to look like cum, Kiss me, etc).
Maybe some kind of cool lighter, if he smokes anyway, or cards (if he plays, or maybe some of the sexual type of cards like with women on or for me, guys ;)).
I don't know if i'd like my parents giving me condoms (as one poster mentioned what his parents gave him, i think), as i'd probably get really embarrassed.
Maybe some kind of minitature drinks, or alcohol-flavoured chocolates or something.
I know my gift ideas are sexual or alcohol based but i am 20 and a student ;)!.

Some pretty good suggestions, David, but here, since he's only 19, he can't legally buy liquor, and he doesn't smoke. But I do like the shot glass idea - you can get some pretty cool ones.

So far I have gotten him blank CD-Rs, some replacement razors, shaving gel, AXE body wash, a mini basketball hoop, and a mini nerf missile to throw. I'm still going to get the candy, of course, a frisbee, and a few other items.
I appreciate all the ideas - they've been very helpful. :santasmil

If you keep your room clean all year long, take out the trash regularly, feed the dogs, and call me Mommy Dearest occassionly, I'll think about it. :hahugh:

Darth Tater rules!
How about one those new battery-less flashlights? You just shake the light and never needs batteries. Kinda fun, good conversation starter and great for emergencies. I think you can find em for $10-15.
I know guys who are still into Legos and those little mini sets make good stocking stuffers.
