The past 3 weeks or so there have been strange knocks on my back door. I know i'm not the only one's hearing it, because both my dogs run to the door barking like crazy. They are always a succession of three knocks only. My bf says he can hear them now too, but what i hear as distinct and loud, he hears as faint. I smudge every time it happens, mostly because of the reaction from my dogs, and i don't know what it could be, just a roaming entity that wants in i suppose since there is never anyone there? It would be too hard to knock and run the way our porch is set up, so it isn't a prank. And if it were, he should have been able to hear them as clearly, and every time that I have since we are always in the same room together when it occurs.

But my bf said somthing that made me go hrmmmm... "Knocks of three, leave them be." Now I've heard of leaves of three, for poison ivy, but never knocks. Has anyone else heard this term before? If so could you tell me what it means. He says his grandmother always said that it was the knock of the devil, but agian i've never heard it before.

I have no idea what it means, but this is something I have experienced in my current home and in my childhood home. My sister has also experienced it (she still lives in our childhood home) in an entirely different location at the same time it happened to me. >,<

Most Christian demonologists feel that knocks of three is actually a demon. The three knocks is a mocking of the Holy Trinity...it also mocks the time that Jesus died (supposedly at 3:00 pm). Most paranormal activity occurs between the hours of midnight to 3 am.

There have been documented cases of three knocks rapping at a door. The homeowner opens the door, there is no one there. At that point the demon entered into the household to create chaos, fear, and oppression with the ultimate goal being possession.

Since I'm not Christian...I don't really believe it...but this is the explanation I've heard as to why three knocks is so spooky.
