I had this idea and then I saw Amethyst Rose did this first, so I hope she doesnt think I'm ripping her off... Sorry!
Seeing as this is my first pregnancy, and there are a lot of wise women here who have been there done that (multiple times...), I know I can get great feedback on this thread.
Thanks in advance to all who are reading and responding. I appriciate it.
So today I am 6 weeks pregnant. WooHoo!
Changes felt -- BOOBS. They are huge, and PAINFUL and future horrible stretch marks are ALREADY visable (I am normally a B cup, pretty small sized.... This SUDDEN growth is unexpected and unusual for my boobs and the skin down there... Meh!)
The bathroom is my second home. Nuff said.
Wierdness in my lower abdomen, strechy feeling, a little bit of pressure. It comes and goes. A bit uncomfortable, but nothing unbearable.
SLEEPYNESS. I love sleep regardless, but in the past I could go on 3 hours of sleep and work/school/activity all day. Forget about that now...
Newest thing occuring -- Dreams.
This is the second night in a row where I've had a dream about my grandma Naomie, who passed away last August. She and I were VERY close. She died 3 weeks before my wedding. She wanted to be at the wedding SO BAD. So bad that in her last few hours she was calling out mine and semi's name, and imagining that she was at our wedding reception (she was highly drugged because she was in a lot of pain, but she remembered our names, our wedding and the place and guests, etc). Its an honor to know I was one of the last things she thought about. She was like another mom to me, a best friend. I wanted her to be at my wedding and to meet my kids.
So now that I am pregnant, and wishing she were here to share this journey with me, I guess either my mind is playing tricks on me, or she is visiting me through my dreams (something I think is happening, since I've felt her presence throughout the day yesterday).
It is very interesting.
That is about it though, for now.
I know the changes are only going to get more interesting and extreme, and I am ready for it..
Now I have to figure out how I break the news to my parents, who think semi and I should wait at least a couple of years before we have kids..... Hmmm... Meh?

 Telling the parents. I dreaded that too. In a perfect reality, I wanted Rhyce with me, when I told both my parents, but he wasn't keen on it. In the end, I took the cowards way out, and phoned my mother at work, who passed the information onto my dad.
To this day, my mum still thinks that Xander was no accident. She believes I planned to fall pregnant.
If your worried, I'd suggest, pick the person that you feel you can talk to the easiest, tell them, and have then pass on the news.

This is your time, your family. Dont approach your parents with worry about their reaction, rather approach them with an invitation to be part of it. Its not their place even to criticize your decisions anymore - they had their time already, you are the parents now. :)

What she said. :) This was one of the most profound changes for me, and I'm still in transition, I think. It's a bit difficult at first to realize that you are now a parent as well and are entitled to your own opinions, thoughts, and ways of doing things.
There's really no hurry to tell anyone. You've got a lot of time before your little one arrives, after all. The first trimester is often the most difficult in terms of symptoms and emotions, and pregnancies are much more fragile at that point. Maybe waiting until you are 12-14 weeks pregnant and some of your early symptoms are beginning to calm as your body gets used to being pregnant would be a bit easier on you, emotionally. A lot of people are a bit superstitious about telling or being told too early anyway. Waiting a little while will give you time to come to terms with it--even wanted pregnancies take a huge adjustment.
Your entire life is about to change, in ways that you can't even fathom and won't be able to foresee until you are in the thick of things. You will always be your parents' baby, of course, and you will realize that more deeply once your child is born than you have ever been able to. But you will also be on an even ground with your parents, as a parent yourself. Let them know that you both are thrilled about this and looking forward to the journey, and that they are quite welcome to participate in this phase of your life, but do not allow them to make you feel guilty for their feelings or wishes for you. :hugz:
Things happen. There's no reason to tell them that you've been actively trying to get pregnant. :)
I am sure your parents, once they get past the surprise, will be absolutely thrilled for you. Very few parents can resist the draw of grandchildren to spoil, after all. ;)

I plan on telling them next week, after my midwife appt.
Even though they'd be shocked and surprised, I know they'd rather know now, than further down the road.
This WAS a surprise, in a sense. I did NOT think I would get pregnant so soon, and since we are both super busy with our schedules, we didnt really have enough time to properly baby dance... I guess one time is really all it takes! LMAO!
I guess we will see...

As close as you are to your parents, I think you're going to find that you're worrying for nothing. :) Sure, they would have liked for you to wait a few years, probably out of a desire to see you as established financially and emotionally as possible in an effort to protect their baby, but I am sure they know that you are quite capable and will be thrilled to have a new life joining the family.

I had this idea and then I saw Amethyst Rose did this first, so I hope she doesnt think I'm ripping her off... Sorry!
I certainly don't own the patent on pregnancy threads. :) Besides, I love reading these kinds of updates... the more the merrier!
As to telling your parents... I was nervous when I first told my parents I was pregnant with Quintin. However, my parents were so thrilled, and later told me they couldn't understand why I was nervous. In my mind it was the whole "proof that I've had sex" thing that got to me. :)
Maybe you'd consider giving them a gift, or doing something cute to tell them.... like giving them a pair of baby booties, or a framed poem about being a grandparent. That'll take some of the stress out of it, cuz then you don't actually have to figure out what to say...they'll figure it out on their own. :) Though, that would be a bit tougher with them being so far away....
Whatever you decided to do, let us know how it turns out.

Thanks guys :)
I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Itsw difficult to me to stand up to my parents sometime... Even though I AM an adult, living, working, married, leading a life of my own, and now -- soon to be mom.
But this is reality -- I am pregnant!
They will deal with it.
I'm just a tad nervous...
I've always felt that I need approval from my parents throughout my childhood and growing up. Now that I am an adult, I really need to completely let go of that.
I think telling them I am pregnant will be the final release.

You may be quite surprised actually. I was rather nervous about us telling my boyfriend's parents (his mom and her side of the family are very Catholic and were already uncomfortable with us just living together unmarried), but turns out they are delighted. They still ask when we're getting married, but they can't wait for the first grandbaby/great grandbaby/nephew in their family!

I wouldnt worry too much about how your parents will react. they should be happy for you and semi.
I really didnt have that trouble with my parents. I told my mom the night I tested with hannah. First I told my husband, then I called my mom literally screaming "mom, it's positive, it's positive!!" lol
That night was funny, because we had my neices and nephew over for a slumber party. I used to take them so my brother and his wife got a break here and there. When I called my husband into the bathroom my nephew said " Ut oh Arthur did something!" (yup..he did..) lol
I wish you lots of luck telling your parents, and hope it goes well.
My parents werent thrilled when we were pregnant with Olivia,as they thought we should only have 1 child period, but once we told them, they were happy for us.(They are VERY happy for us this time) :D Parents just want the best for their children and grandchildren.
:hugz: to you!

I went to my Gramma's work with my first pregnancy. I was about 2 months along. She raised me, so it was sooo weird telling her I was pregnant. Pulled her aside to the back room and just spit it out.
She looked at me and with such love and wisdom said: "Duh!! I kinda figured you were!" When I asked her why, she said it was because all mothers can tell when their children are pregnant. It's like the spidey sense for moms, LOL!
She wasn't happy at that point (I was barely 19), but she was ultra supportive the whole time. Took me shopping for all my maternity clothes, and gave me all kinds of great advice during pregnancy, and again after Aiden was born.
I bet your parents will be happy to hear this wonderful news. Even my boys' paternal grandparents got over it. They were actually the ones who weren't thrilled for our family. But as soon as our boys came, they loved them with all their hearts.
Just make sure that they know where that fine line between being a grandparent and taking control from you is. It is so easy for them to blur that line under the guise of helping you out.
You guys are going to be great!! And both sets of parents will be overjoyed, I'm certain of it!
Much love and blessings,
~ Ravenna

Thanks for everyone's advice!
Well, so far so good...
My boobs are huge and SOOOOO sore... My nipples feel like they are cut by glass every time I slightly touch them... I'm in the bathroom at LEAST once an hour.. Constepation has been rearing its ugly head now and then.. Not ALL the time though, thankfully...
No morning sickness so far.. There was a day or two where I was a tad queezy and out of it, but it passed. I am feeling fine so far, and am crossing my fingers that this will continue and maybe I'll be one of the lucky few who wont get the dreaded morning sickness..
I find that I am hungry a lot more... I woke up early this morning when my husband whent to work, and I felt a sudden surge of hunger, to the point of pain hunger (I ate at 10pm the night before, a little while before going to sleep). I am NEVER so hungry so early in the morning..
So since I'm eating more, I'm trying to keep it on the healthy side... This morning I had waffles with strawberries and some syrup... For lunch (2 hours later LOL), I had a salad with some lettuce, tuna, strawberries and blueberries. Later I'll probably have some pasta of some sort... mmm..
I think Oranges might be my craving of choice this pregnancy... 2 nights ago I downed 2 oranges... and I am NOT an orange person.. I rarely eat them... So downing 2 is big for me... And I might have one soon, now that I think about it.. Mmm..
So.. so far, so good. Here's to hoping this will remain a fairly easy going pregnancy as it has so far!

when I was first pregnant, I had to pee every 5 minutes it seemed, my boobs hurt like...OMG, they hurt!......and I was ravenous all the time! You're doing great eating healthy. There's a good book out called Eating Well When You're Expecting that's a companion to the What to Expect... book. Lots of good recipes in it.

So new question...
Where have the pregnancy stuff gone?
I only feel the following:
Fatigue.
Breast soreness (seems to have gotten a tad better though since the last couple of weeks).
Peeing A LOT.
Hunger strikes with a vengence here and there, and I am only shying away from several foods I didnt like too much or eat as much anyways -- certain meats and eggs (well, I used to go for eggs more than meat, but still).
No active mornin sickness at all...
Nothing.
Which kinda worries me!
Meh.
I wish I had another pregnancy test or two to take AGAIN... I'm kinda scared it went away!
Oh, and my period is a no show for almost 3 weeks now...
*is confused!*

The one thing that holds true for every pregnancy is that you can't predict or control how you're going to feel from one day to the next. I didn't have any true morning sickness. The only nausea I ever felt happened if I didn't eat when I was supposed to. Otherwise, nothing. Not everyone gets morning sickness or any other pregnancy symptom. From listening to those who did get it, though, I can say that you should only be grateful at the moment.
Your pregnancy isn't just going to go away, trust me. The fatigue, constant peeing, and breast soreness are more common symptoms, from what I've seen. :)

I know its not just going to go away. I ues I just worry... I AM of Jewish decent after all... LOL
I just want to know that everything in there is OK, and I hope the midwife will do SOME sort of examination to make sure the prenancy is going good, even if its still really early.
Oh, and AN -- I get the same thing real early in the morning if I wake up to pee or when semi goes to work -- I can get a SUDDEN horrible urge to eat and it kinda comes along with slight nausia too.
Thanks again everyone :)

The worry is completely normal. I hate to tell you this, but it doesn't go away throughout your pregnancy and only becomes more pronounced once the baby is born. You're a mother now. That you're pregnant and didn't have him yet doesn't change that. Worry is a permanent part of the package. :)

So I got back home from the midwife's not too long ago.
They took my urine, weight and blood pressure.
Then the midwife and I went through my family medical history and general details.
Then I got a vaginal exam, she checked my muscles, pelvic structure, cervix stuff, uterus position, etc.
I have another appt in one month, and I will have an ultrasound at 20 weeks.
She said that my pelvic muscles are REAL healthy and in shape and even asked me if I work out LOL (which I dont at all!).
My due date right now (according to the first day of my last period) is August 19th (I thought it would be August 16th), which is interesting and mixed with emotions since my grandmother died a few months ago on August 18th, so if I give birth around that time its going to be very emotional since she and I were very close.
And... I told my mom...
She said she thinks we should have waited with this for another year or so, but she sounded concerned (cause I'm her pregnant daughter living on the other side of the world), and happy at the same time. I think she is looking forward to being a grandma even though she thinks its a bit too soon for us to have a baby. She wants to wait till I'm done with the 1st trimester to tell our family, and I agreed. I am not superstitious like that, but I respect her wishes. I know I am thinking positive and that is all that matters.
So I did it! Told my mom, had my first appt!
I am excited, semi is excited!
Things are good and hopefully will get only better.
So I am six weeks and a half and so far no morning sickness.
I'm tired a lot, in the bathroom all the time and my boobs are huge, hungry a lot and definitly staying away from eggs and ham (bleh) nowadays, but things are good!
Yay!

That is so wonderful to hear that you are healthy and everything is going well!! What a blessing!
My sister has had five kids and she NEVER had morning sickness, she always felt fine, other than being really hungry. In fact, she LOVES being pregnant, loves the way it makes her feel, and if she could afford it, she'd have 10, lol. (I think she's a little nuts, but that's just me). My mom, who also had five (it's almost a tradition on my mom's side), only had morning sickness with the first two. After that, I guess her body got the hang of it. So don't worry or get nervous, it just means that you're one of the blessed. I knew two women whose bodies were so taxed with their pregnancies that it literally made them sick, one with bad gestational diabetes and one who could barely eat anything or move around and was ordered to bed rest for the last five months of her pregnancy. So again, count yourself blessed!
I have not been pregnant as of yet, but I know it's lurking in my future somewhere and I really just can't wait. I can't wait to be a mom.

Give Semi my love and tell him that he better be good to you and let him know that you're not he only one who's pregnant. :) He is going to go through his own changes and feelings during your pregnancy and it's as important for hi to share those with you as it is for you to share your feelings and changes with him.

Yeah, the midwife was really surprise when she felt my pelvic muscles and even more surprised when I told her I do not work out at all. So I think I am going to pick up a prenatal Pilates DVD and prenatal Yoga DVD (since we cant really afford classes right now) and get my body into shape. We have a tredmill at home so I can do a half and hour to an hour on it each day or so (depending on my energy level, the midwife said that by Feb my energy should come back lol). And I remember the kegals!!
Semi was concerned about me being petite and possibly having to have a c-section, but the midwife said that if we have a baby who is a normal sized healthy baby (ie. not TOO big!), I should be able to easily give a vaginal birth, as my pelvic is wide enough even though I am short and petite (well, I used to be petite, now I am average weight for my height, meh!).
Yeah, my parents are going to be the same as with our wedding. They were worried at first and a little opposed to me marrying a guy whom I spent a while in a long distance relationship with. But they slowly accepted it and after I came for a visit to the US in May and when semi visited us for a second time in September -- They eased up and were supportive and even paid for a whole wedding in Israel. Its going to be the same here.
My mom even joked saying -- ""You ruined my visiting plans, I wanted to come in May but now I'm going to have to wait till AUGUST!"" LOL
She will probably come around here for the birth or right after, I am assuming.
Thanks everyone for your support! I am going to take a nice long nap now! LOL

Newst and most YUMMY craving:
Mashed potatoes with hotdogs and LOADS of ketchup, and 2 large (!!!) glasses -- One of water, one of milk.
Unfortunately, we are currently out of milk and hotdogs. My roomate is getting groceries tonight... So hotdogs and milk will be here later!
YUM!
I've never experienced such strong hunger before in such short amounts of time! I get super ultra hungry barely 2 hours after I eat a meal. I'm talking hunger that hurts just under the chest, and feels like your stomach sticks to your back!
Wow!!
And now... I have a bowl of mashed potatoes and ketchup waiting for me... Mmmmmm...

Good to hear that your check up went great, and that you told your mom. It's also awesome that she'll be there for, or just after the birth. It does help a lot to have someone (other than 'daddy') in with you to help you through labor. :) Keep us updated!

I think mashed potatoes is a common one. I know I dreamt about them one night, and I remember another lady on the forum I visit mentioning she'd been craving them all the time too. For me they are comfort food - we only get them now when we go home and visit mom and dad, then dad will usually whip them up for me because I love his cooking so much.
My cravings have leaned more towards fruit and milk - OJ, Welch's grape juice, fruit yogourt, strawberry cream cheese, and a pitcher bag of milk per day, are musts. So I tend to think we often crave what baby needs. I say indulge that craving!! :D
Also I found it helped if I ate smaller meals and snacks every few hours. I learned that from my dad (he's diabetic) - it keeps my sugar level, prevents me from bingeing when I do eat, and keeps something in my tummy to help prevent heartburn and nausea. You might find it helps as well to carry snacks everywhere - I like granola bars and almonds, because they're easy to carry and don't upset my stomach. I find peppermint candies are good too to prevent heartburn and indigestion as well as offering a bit of sugar when you need it.

I've craved smashed potatoes that i learnt how to make on an episode of rachel rays cooking.
You take cooked cut up potatoes(with the skins on),like red bliss, and milk or cream, butter and shredded cheddar/or 4 cheese blend and mash/smash them all together.
it's sooo good! My husband and i even went a step further and added bacon bits and sour cream to make a loaded baked potatoe .
Ketchup is good with mashed potatoes though! :)
One weird thing i craved with hannah was lemon slices and vanilla icecream!

I did that all the time..and was addicted to watching those shows..it was like I could not turn away. Expect the moodiness to happen after the baby...I would look at the baby and start to cry!!
For morning sickness look for Preggie Pops at a baby store....they worked wonders for me when I could not try to force something bland in my mouth..plus they have a variety of flavors to try and see what works.

That crying doesn't stop after you're not pregnant anymore, you know. I still cry my eyes out at the smallest things! It's not hormones anymore; now it's because my perspective is different as a parent. Movies and TV shows that were only a bit sad to me now disturb me greatly if there is a child who gets hurt or loses a parent. I don't think it's ever going to completely go away.

Seeing as this is my first pregnancy, and there are a lot of wise women here who have been there done that (multiple times...), I know I can get great feedback on this thread.
Good for you! My brother and his wife didn't want any advice. The said they didn't want to hear all of the "horror stories". In my opinion, they aren't horror stories. They are tales of babies being born and they help newly-pregnant women and their SO's understand what is happening in their bodies.
Oh, as a result of not wanting people to give them advice, my sister in law went through "2 weeks" of labor. lolol!!!!
So today I am 6 weeks pregnant. WooHoo!
Congratulations!!! Although I don't want or need any more children (well, children would be ok, babies are a whole nother story. lol), I love babies. Especially when you can give them back. lolol!
Changes felt -- BOOBS. They are huge, and PAINFUL and future horrible stretch marks are ALREADY visable (I am normally a B cup, pretty small sized.... This SUDDEN growth is unexpected and unusual for my boobs and the skin down there... Meh!)
The only thing I have found that actually works to any extent is vitamin E oil. I had a motorcycle wreck a few years ago and the scars I used that on are a lot more faded and less noticeable than the ones I didn't use it on.
I used to sleep on my tummy. The first time I got pregnant, I noticed that my boobs hurt a lot in the morning, if I slept on my tummy, but not so much when I slept on my side. I started putting a pillow under my boobs, to elevate my tummy so that my boobs weren't so squished. That helped. At the time, I didn't know I was pregnant. lol
The bathroom is my second home. Nuff said.
Just had to laugh at that. lol
Wierdness in my lower abdomen, strechy feeling, a little bit of pressure. It comes and goes. A bit uncomfortable, but nothing unbearable.
Normal. If you can say normal about anything in pregnancy. lol.
SLEEPYNESS. I love sleep regardless, but in the past I could go on 3 hours of sleep and work/school/activity all day. Forget about that now...
I was so relieved both times when I found out I was pregnant, because I could actually justify taking a nap. lol. With my second one, I would actually lay my head on my table at work sometimes, I was so tired. My co workers would come by and shake me and ask if I was ok. I was in such a bad mood the whole time, I just wanted to scream "I was asleep, for crying out loud, and you woke me up! Of course I'm not ok!!!" But thankfully, I realized that I was getting overly upset over some things (like when someone would look at me), so I tried to curb my temper. Not easy for a red head, let me tell you. lol
She is with you. That is what the dreams are about, in my opinion. She is just letting you know that she is there.
Pay attention to your dreams. In both of my pregnancies, I dreamed that I had boys. In the first one, I didn't let them tell me what the sex was, but I just had a feeling, supported by my dream. In the second pregnancy, they actually told me it was a girl, 90% positive. I dreamed I had a boy. I had a boy.
Of course, with my first pregnancy, I had this one dream. I was in labor and everyone was there, even people who live in another state, and when the doctor said "I can see the head", my husband's cousin leaned over and looked and said "it's black!". lol. So maybe dreams don't mean anything. lolol!!!!!!!
That is about it though, for now.
I know the changes are only going to get more interesting and extreme, and I am ready for it..
As long as you are enjoying the process, it will only get better. Even with my second pregnancy, when I was in a horrible mood the whole time (my friends told me that if I got pregnant again, they would shoot me, and they actually had a party for me when I went on maternity leave, because I was leaving! lol), I still would sit on the couch with my pants pulled down under my belly and my shirt pulled up over my belly and watch him move around. That was the most magical time, for me. I loved seeing the life inside my body.
Now I have to figure out how I break the news to my parents, who think semi and I should wait at least a couple of years before we have kids..... Hmmm... Meh?
When my sister got pregnant for the first time (she was the first of us), she was 20. My mother called me, drunk, and told me. lol. She didn't think she was readyto be a grandmother. But she was also excited. If your parents love you, they will also be excited. Just tell them.

You guys should have seen me about 3 weeks ago then! My mother in law told me that "someone",who i have a pretty good idea Is..said my daughter looked like a 4 yr old dyke, because of her short haircut. (she got ahold of the scissors)
I went off on my mother in law,and told her to tell this person to keep their comments to themselves, and other choice words (that I cant repeat here) .
So yea,if someone trys to hurt your child,or attack them by calling them inappropriate names, you can bet you will step into mommy mode and bite their heads off! :D
also.. you can have morning sickness up until the 4th month,so it may just be starting for you. Hang in there! :hugz:

*snerk*
Morning, noon, night, middle of the night, in the car because of the motion....yeah, been there, done that.
And, it should have been my first clue that I was pregnant, and didn't just have the flu. Of course, I still had my period for the first four months I was pregnant, thus didn't know I was pregnant until my mom made me take a pee-on-a-stick pregnancy test, LOL!
And MOM made me take a pregnancy test because she said, "You're gaining weight in unusual places, you wouldn't be pregnant and not telling us, right?" I told my mom, "No, I'm not pregnant, and I would tell you if I was. I just feel like crap, and I'm too fat!"
I threw up for four and a half months straight. All.The.TIME. And, every time I went to the doctor? They told me I had the flu! I kid you not.
Ginger root capsules. They're GREAT for nausea. I have to take them when I fly anywhere, otherwise I get extremely nauseous. I mean, my baby is twelve years old, and I STILL get major motion sickness on a plane, especially when there's a lot of turbulence. Don't even ask what it's like for me on an elevator!

I heard an old wive's tale that if, when you get up in the morning, you crawl over your husband to get out of bed, he will have the morning sickness instead of you. I don't know if it was coincidence or not, but I did this the first time and he was in the bathroom every morning, coughing and choking, trying his darndest not to get sick. Could have been a virus or something? Second pregnancy, I didn't do it and I was sick the whole 9 months. I got sick so hard one time that I busted blood vessels in my eyes. Not a pretty sight, I'll tell you. lol

Allright so everyone says I'm showing already.
I guess I am a little bloated and I got a little chubbier in my belly (yeah, I'm hungry every 2 hours!), but I'm trying to keep some sort of balance with the food I eat..
Morning (or all day) sickness is a biatch so far... It comes and goes though, so I manage to handle it so far.
Aversions are getting WORSE... Meh. Its difficult walking around in the kitchen and every other food grosses me out.
Tiredness is still felt, but I've learned to handle it and adjust to it.
Thats about it so far... Just a short update, I guess.

Try getting out of bed really slowly.... there's something about the blood rushing from your head when you get up quickly that makes pregnant women puke in the morning. Or, you can also try eating something (saltine crackers) before you get out of bed, to help calm you stomach.
*hugs* sorry you've had to go through that. The good news is that women with morning sickness are much much less likely to miscarry than women without it. Being sick is a good thing. :)

Try those little Sea Band wrist band thingies for morning sickness. I wore them for weeks, but between them & the preggie pops, the morning sickness got down to a mild annoyance rather than a constant "I'm going to puke" feeling.

Here I am, going on 9 weeks, and behold the wonders of pregnancy:
~ Tiredness.
~ PEEING ALL DAY LONG (and all night long... I am up at LEAST 5-6 times a night).
~ Crazy aversions.
~ Morning [all day] sickness.
~ Bloating/slowly growing belly -- Its hard to sit down while wearing my jeans b/c they start pushing too much on my lower belly.
~ LOWER BACK PAIN LOWER BACK PAIN LOWER BACK PAIN... Meh. Well, more like bad discomfort. Its not shooting pain, just a lot of discomfort bordering with mild pain, I guess.
~ Emotional wreck & snappy me.
Meh.

And here I was thinking just a few weeks ago that my first trimester will be easy (what? who? why?!).

I am in the mood for pampering myself and dying my hair an auborn-y shade.
I had planned on getting tattooed on January 21s -- My grandmother's birthday -- I wanted to tattoo her name on the back of my neck (she died last August and we were very very close). However, now that I am pregnant, I cannot get tattooed, so I want to do something else... And dying my hair is the next best thing (if I hadnt been a Hebrew teacher, I'd probably dye it purple or bright red, but I dont think my boss would appriciate that LOL).

The advice we get in the pregnancy book given out in England :-
There is no scientific evidnece that dying your hair will do anything to you or your baby. The only real problem with dying your hair while pregnant is that your chemical balance changes and colour will take differently to what it should and this is only sometimes. If you want to dye it do a small test and go from there.

Thanks everyone for your advice!
Well, today I am officially 9 weeks pregnant -- WooHoo!
My child has welcomed us both into the 9 week mark with morning sickness and me throwing up this morning...
Other than that, things are allrighty. So far so good.
Peeing ALL THE TIME.
I get up at night on average of every 2 hours to pee like a horse. Its not fun, but somebody's gotta do it! I dont think it would be comfortable if my bladder exploded...
Morning sickness comes and goes... In 9 weeks, I have only thrown up twice (including today), so as much as its annoying, I know it could be MUCH worse (I have heard the horror stories).
Aversions are yicky -- One day I eat something, the next I cant even think of it. Not to mention see it or smell it. I am learning how much I can eat and of what, and how every often because everything in my digestive system has changed, apperantly, and I can get sick by eating one bite too much.
Tuna salad and Cole Slaw seem to be the current winners and my taste buds' delightful treats. I love Tuna and Tuna salad regardless, but now it seems like I could eat them ALL THE TIME.
Last night we ordered some take out for the playoffs. I got a pizza with onions on it, and I topped it at home with some tuna (from a can). I had my brother run out and get me KFC's cole slaw (surprisingly GOOD!), and thats all I had the entire night.
Mmmm...
I am going to go eat that soon too as I have 4 extra slices of pizza left (semi cannot bare the sight, smell or taste of onions, not to mention tuna -- So the pizza was mine ALL MINE!! BWAHAHAHA!!).
And lately, if we go out to eat, I find myself ordering a Tuna Salad sandwich. Mmmmm, Tuna Salad.... Mmmmmmm...
Anyways,
My lower back pain comes and goes, its definitly more like pressure and things moving type pain, rather than just shooting pain as if something is very wrong with my back.
My belly is still the same size as its been last week. I dont expect it to grow significantly in the next couple of weeks (though I REALLY want to have a belly already!). I can, however, only wear one pair of pants, and when I sit down I have to unzip them because they put too much pressure on my growing belly. Everywhere else, though, seems to be the same size, still (well aside for my boobs which are still sore, but seem to have slowed down in growth).
THAT IS IT!
I think...
My next midwife appt. is on January 29th. Hoping to hear a heartbeat...!! *crosses fingers*
I am so jealous of those of you who are so close to give birth! I want to do it already! I want to meet my kid! I want to know if its a boy or a girl! I want to start creating memories with him/her (though believe me, they WILL hear about mommy throwing up thanks to them when they were an inch long...!).
Thats about it!

As for tuna and cole slaw. I love it too! I've had tuna subs occasionally here, and whenever we go out to chik filet, I get their yummy coleslaw. It tastes JUST like my moms. It's pretty similar to kfc, which I was telling ym husband last night that we havent been to kfc in ages. If I dont have vincent tomorrow or tuesday. were getting some! :D
One thing I love about my belly being so big.. I can now use it as a table! Although have to hold the plate,as he is quite the kicker!

Be careful with eating too much tuna. They have a high mercury content which is not healthy for you, especially when pregnant. I normally eat tuna salad for lunch three times a week and when I talked to my midwives about foods to avoid when pregnant this is something they told me I should really cut back on. They said that once a week is really all you should take in while pregnant, about 6 ounces. Although I should point out that there is less mercury in canned light tuna than in albacore, so that's something to keep in mind. Other fish to avoid are swordfish, shark, mackeral, and tilefish for the same reason.

Dreamspell -- It IS a bummer about the Eagles. They gave such a good game last night! but the Saints' offence was too strong for the Eagles' Defense. I really wanted them to get another touchdown. They WOULD have, if the darn ref wouldnt have called a penalty when Garcia ran down and got a 1st down at the Saints' territory. GRR! I dont think it was called for... I think the refs were supporting the Saints.
Grr. GRR! I dont like the Saints.
Morag -- Say it aint true! I crave Tuna every day! I will definitly talk to my midwife about it though as well. I dont eat those other fish, though. I barely eat any other seafood lately, and the only other fish I'd consider eating is Salmon. But thank you for the info!!

I remember with hannah, I was soo hungry, and the food would taste soo good, and then i'd be sick. OR I wouldnt be able to eat much of it. would get full really easily. I got so frustrated by it.

And I have to go to work in 30 mins.
Meh!

Yeah, this little baby has been taking up my entire energy. Its hard to stay awake nowadays, ESPECIALLY when I am working with toddlers, kindergarden kids and fourth graders.
I just got home from work and I am EXHAUSTED and I'll probably go to sleep soon.. Note: I got 7 hours of sleep last night, an hour this afternoon on my break, and its not even 7pm right now... I feel like I didnt sleep for days..!!
Eating seems more and more difficult each day... Everything makes me want to throw up... My brother had me drive him to Mcdonalds and I figured I wouldnt get anything since I've been grossed out by meat and chicken lately A LOT.. AND French Fries... But I saw their fish sandwich and was like """MMMmmmmmm..."", so I had it and it was yummy (after taking the slice of cheese out, of course.. Cant tolerate cheese nowadays either!).
So that was yummy! Mmmmmm... Fishies... Mmmm...
I also found myself picking up soups (Tomato, Mushroom, Lobster Bisque) at the store. None Meat/Chichen soups seem to work for me nowadays... And ice cold coke... Mmmmm...
My back is killing me, and I feel like an 80 year old lady who cant move, is tired all the time, cant stand almost every other food out there and is really complainy about it LOL
Anyways... Last night semi and I were thinking of boy names (we have a girl's name down -- Scarlett Naomie). We were thinking of Crowley as a first name, but we're open to something less wierd LOL
Some of the current runners up (at least on semi's list...) --
Malakai
Killian
Kieran
Angus
I am trying to push for Liam, but its not working LOL
Middle name would be Crowley (after Aleister Crowley).
We are trying to push for an Irish first name.
Doesnt seem to work yet, though. Maybe we WILL end up naming him Crowley. He'll deal LOL
I think we'll have a boy. I had a dream where we went to get the U/S and saw boy bits... We'll see!

Logan is on the table too now.
Argh this is so difficult! I never thought we'd have such trouble agreeing on a name! On the other hand, on the girl front we are set -- Scarlett Naomie it is!
Other than that, today has been the total opposite of yesterday, so far! I am energized, no headache, no exhausion, no morning sickness.
Thank Gods!
Last night I was suffering from a horrible migraine and I couldnt take any painkillers, of course. I told semi that I cannot believe that I am enduring a horrible, skull crushing migraine for this baby. I've never experienced such sacrifice -- A GOOD sacrifice. Ya know what I mean?
It sucks to have that migraine, but its OK because I am not taking painkillers for this baby. So the baby is healthy and not effected by any drugs.
Sometimes I am a tad irresponsible by drinking Coke or Coffee. But NEVER as often as I used to before I got pregnant.
Actually Coke sometimes eases my morning sickness! LOL
Oh well..
I am gonna go look for more boy names....

You are allowed to take tylenol, and sometimes for migranes it helps to drink Coke with the tylenol....the acetaminophen/caffine combination helps tough headaches.
I wouldn't have been able to survive this pregnancy to this point, without tylenol.... I have to take them two or three times a week, I get headaches so often.

Yeppers..take Tylenol..its ok. Like Amethyst does..I could not survive without it!!

Excedrine combines Tylenol and caffeine, you might find that helpful. Luckily you have lots of time to pick a name - and then pick another, and another, and another :P I guess some couples choose two or more on purpose so they can choose which one when they see the baby in person. For us there was one name that stuck - I kept trying to think of new ones "just in case" until I finally said "enough! that name is the right one!"
Morr
January 17th, 2007, 05:38 PM
We DO have excedrine around the house... So that IS okay?
I dont get migraines very often, luckily... And if I get them I so far have been able to just sleep them off. If I wake up with them in the morning after having them the day/night before -- THEN I need painkillers!
Currently, Logan and Calen/Kailen. Semi asked me to look the meanings up, so I will!
I am not sure about Kieran yet... I have to think about it.
Today I've been feeling much better, thankfully!
Thanks everyone!!
Amethyst Rose
January 17th, 2007, 05:42 PM
Acetaminophen is what you're allowed to take....so Tylenol or generic is okay. I've never used Excedrin myself, but I've heard it's just Acetaminophen and caffine, in which case, yeah it's okay. Just check the label on the bottle.
Whatever you do, don't take ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin)!
RainInanna
January 17th, 2007, 06:55 PM
Yep, what she said.
I always preferred Excedrine over Tylenol and had it around so that worked well. If you have sinus or cold problems as well my Dr said Tylenol Cold & Sinus is fine. I didn't get migraines too much but I did find my sinuses were terrible.

Well, threw up this morning too.
I seem to be actually throwing up early in the morning when I wake up, when there is nothing in my stomach, more often than during the rest of the day. I do get sick, but I dont really throw up during the day, only the morning.
When I wake up I have this horrible feeling of hunger and that makes me sick and then I throw up. Afterwards I feel so much better (?!).
Its wierd.
Anyways, I am eating chicken noodle soup now. Though I am not a fan of chicken these days, there are no chicken chunks, just broth, so I am handling it. I find that soup, especially various veggie soups, are good with me these days and help sooth my stomach.
Other than that, all is good so far.

I took another pregnancy test just to make sure the baby is still there...
In the past day or two I've become paranoid that the baby died or something wrong happened, even though I still have symptoms (peeing A LOT, morning sickness, food aversions).
I just worry...
I got a very very sharp and dark positive LOL
That means theres plenty of pregnancy hormones, so that means I'm still pregnant and the baby is just fine...

We cant really afford anything right now that is not an absolute needed thing to survive (ie. food, transportation, etc).
I have a midwife appt. on January 29th, so I will ask her if we can listen to the heartbeat. I hope she'll be able to find it. I will be 11 weeks by then.
I know that as the weeks pass by and the pregnancy progresses, the chances of miscarriage and bad things go down drastically.
I was told by a friend who has been pregnant 4 times that morning sickness and food aversions, and an often hunger is a sign of a healthy growing little baby.
I guess my mommy radar is developing LOL

Ah, hugs. I'm completely sympathetic to those fears....and they never really go away, even after you have baby in your arms. Just think, if you didn't worry about your baby, what kind of mom would you be? You'll be an awsome mom. :)
Athena-Nadine
January 22nd, 2007, 10:22 AM
:hugz: I remember those worries. It's true, they never go away. You just find new things to be worried about. If anything, the worry sometimes becomes more acute after your baby is born because he is no longer part of you. He is a separate being, exposed to all the dangers of the world, many of which he was insulated from before birth.
When I was pregnant with Robert, I worried on and off the entire time. I found that I had serious trouble sleeping the night before every prenatal exam. Often without even being aware of it, I was anxious about going in to see my doctor and finding out that something had gone horribly wrong. It made no difference that he was doing flips and cartwheels to the point where I could not only feel him, but others could see him. :) The worry and anxiety were always there.

Here, this'll make you feel better...
Guidelines issued by the Food Standards Agency recommend that women have no more than 300mg of caffeine a day while pregnant. This is equivalent to three mugs of instant coffee or six cups of tea or eight cans of cola per day.
Taken from http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/nutrition/foodsafety/caffeine/
Edit: btw (since I didn't answer your original question very well), everything I've found online suggests substituting coffee with decaffinated coffee while pregnant, if you want to eliminate caffeine altogether. So I think decaffinated is fine.

I would definitely go with small amounts of caffeine. There is coffee that is decaffed naturally--Carribou coffee does it naturally and plenty of coffee places online, but generally it's done using things like formaldehyde or methylene chloride. Ick!

Morning update...
Woke up about 4-5 times, every 2 hours or so, to pee. Argh.
I think my belly got bigger, my PJ pants are tightning up and its become uncomfy... Gotta get bigger ones now...
I noticed that its beginning to become harder for me to turn from one side to another just using my back and stomach muscles. I did that tonight and it felt difficult AND I got a cramp in one of my stomach muscles. So now I have to use my arms to help me turn around. I guess this has to do with women not doing excercise on their back and using their stomach muscles for much excercise after the first trimester is over with thing? I dont know... I'm not done with my 1st trimester yet, but I am heading there quickly!
Tonight was wierd, in general.. Things were streching inside LOL
This morning started with throwing up nothing but mucus and nothingness (sorry for the TMI), I dont even throw up solids... It sucks, but I kinda feel better right afterwards and I eat and feel okay, sorta.
Had 2 eggo waffles and a cup of coffee... Mmmm... Coffee...
Gotta go run after little preschoolers now... Then I have a 2 hour break, and then I go teach Hebrew to little 4th graders...
Long day...

A small amount of coffee isn't really that bad in pregnancy. I generally kept it to one or two cups spaced well apart during the day.
Decaf on the other hand... after having working in the coffee industry and learning a LOT about the methods used to decaffeinate coffee... I avoid it at all costs.
Nearly all brands of decaf coffee found in the stores are made with chemical processes. "Officially" they are safe for human consumption, but frankly I never wanted to be a guinea pig for the coffee giants of the world. However, I am REALLY fond of organic decaf coffees, which use a water washing process to decaffeinate the coffee. It looks more like tea when brewed, but it is still pretty yummy.

By the way, when do you usually detect a heartbeat? Is it possible to find it at 11 weeks? A co worker who is also pregnant (going on 15 weeks) told me they wont be able to detect it till 15-16 weeks... MEH! I was hoping we'd hear it next week, at my midwife's office!

You can start to hear it with a doppler at 10 weeks. You're so skinny they'll have no problems finding it, I feel pretty certain. I'm twice your size, at least, and heard my baby's at 12 weeks. :)

I WANT AN EARLIER SCAN! Is it proper to ask for one? Is it extra money?

Athena-Nadine
January 24th, 2007, 09:22 AM
You can ask, but each scan does cost money so a lot of places now will only do 1, at around 20 weeks, unless they feel there may be a reason for additional ones. Some doctors and midwives, though, are willing to do them whenever you ask, without extra charge, as they have the machine in their office. But some don't like doing them and think they're unnecessary.
You won't know where your midwife stands unless you ask her about it. :)

January 24th, 2007, 09:33 AM
I guess I will ask her on Monday!
Another question, my mom had pregnancy diabetes (I know theres a specific name for it, but I dont know how to spell it properly.. It starts with a G) with both her pregnancies.
Am I also at risk of that?
She was always thin, very active and athletic, never had a diebetes issue at all till she got pregnant.
Should I ask to get checked for that too? I know it gave her a lot of complications, especially with my brother.
Athena-Nadine
January 24th, 2007, 09:44 AM
They tend to test everyone automatically for gestational diabetes now because it can happen to anyone, with or without risk factors. I believe, though, if your mother had it, you may be at higher risk for it, but I'm not certain. If I remember right, I was tested around 28 weeks because I think that's around when it usually shows up. You should bring all of these things up, but you'll probably find that she will test you anyway. You really should ask her which tests are routine for her and which are done based on risk level and how she assesses risk levels.
It's really not as bad as some people say. They give you a sweet thing to drink, either cola or orange flavored (get the orange if she gives you a choice) and then you get your blood drawn an hour later. You can't eat or drink anything besides water beforehand, though, so the rise and drop in blood sugar tends to cause some women t become lightheaded afterwards. Bring a healthy snack with you that you can eat after your blood is drawn to counteract it.
My doctor's office gave me the bottle with the drink at my visit before the one I would have the test and told me to refrigerate it. I drank it at home, exactly an hour before I was to be at their office to have my blood drawn, then went in. Apparently, it doesn't taste quite so bad if it's cold (I think it's only really nasty if you're not used to sugar in the first place--to me, it tasted like flat orange soda). It was nice because I didn't have to sit around her office waiting for an hour.
If you fail the initial test, you have to take a 3 hour test, which consists of drinking more of that stuff and getting your blood drawn 3 times, every hour. If you fail that one, you are considered to have gestational diabetes and are put on a restricted diet, maybe given insulin (if diet doesn't control it), and watched for the duration of your pregnancy.
Morr
January 24th, 2007, 09:48 AM
Well I certainly hope I dont fail those!
It was wierd to me that they didnt take any blood from me on my first visit last month. They only took a urine sample, weight, height and blood pressure. Then after speaking to the midwife and talking about medical and family history, she gave me a vaginal exam and took several pap smears.
I kinda hope they draw some blood from this next week, I want them to start running tests to make sure the baby is okay. I did sign up for HIV testing, even though I know I dont have it. And she wants to test Hepitites as well since I have multiple tattoos and piercings. I might get tested for the Jewish genetic disease too.
I really need to ask her more questions about the types of tests I will have to take and when.
Thank you Athena for the info! I appriciate it!

If your next appt is your 2nd..chances this is when you will have the blood drawn. As for an early U/S I always had 2..the first was to confirm the due date and then one at 20 weeks which is the fetal anatomical scan..that is the cool one where you see all the bones, organs, heart and face..that is the cool one.
Unlike AN I HATED the gestasional diabetes test..it tasted nasty cool, warm or what ever..yucky!!

Anytime. :) There is a lot more involved with being pregnant than most people realize, and sometimes there is less involved than expected. That's because, while pregnancy does basic, similar things, each woman and pregnancy is different.
You won't get blood drawn at most of your visits, and many of the prenatal testing (outside of your genetic testing for things like HIV and Tay Sachs) doesn't happen until around 20 weeks. If it's done too soon, you receive to many false results, especially false positives. There are some tests that are done later, because those issues tend to show up later. Your weight, urine, and blood pressure are the only things that will be checked at every visit. Every time they take your urine, they are checking for possible problems, especially preeclampsia. :) For some things, they don't need to take blood.

Yeah, it definitely didn't taste too good, but I've tasted things that were much nastier (oysters, EEWWWW!). My biggest issue with it was that I am normally borderline hypoglycemic, and my blood sugar dropped dramatically an hour and a half after drinking it. Blech. So I got all shaky and light headed.
Oh--some people get nauseous and some even throw up when they drink the glucose drink.

I will ask more Qs next week, that is for sure, and I'll ask if I can get a scan earlier than 20 weeks, which is when she said I'll have an u/s to see the baby and also see the sex of the baby.
I am assuming that if they didnt call me or anything, that the urine and pap smear tests were just fine.
I know that so far so good, from what Ive been noticing myslef -- Belly definitly is growing (I was standing in front of the mirror today in awe of the little funny shaped and cute bump in my lower stomach area). Morr,
You seem to have alot of questions for your Midwife, which is a good thing. Its your first you don't know what is going on (well, yes and no), whats normal and not. What I did was before every visit is, I would sit with my hubby and ask him if he had any questions and then along with my questions I would write them down so I wouldn't forget about them come the visit (pregnancy brain). That was a good way for me to get my hubbys and my questions all answered. Also, its your first one so don't ever think that a question you may ask is silly or stupid, you and Semi are the parents and you have the right to know everything you think you should know. Also, keep on asking us ladies here on MW any questions that you have too. Most of us have been there done that, so we might be able to help (like we have been) or at least point you in the right direction.

Gestational Diabetes. If one is diagonsed with that they are at a higher risk to develop type 2 diabetes later on in life unless they adhere to a healthy diet and exercise program. Another indicator of risk for type 2 diabetes is birthing babies over 8 1/2 lbs. If one adheres so a healthy diet and exercise program it can be avoided.( Healthy means eating more than one time a day balancing the sugar levels .One meal a day is the worst thing someone can do. It is better to eat several small meals and a couple of snacks throughout the day to keep the sugar level at a steady range.)
Thin people can develop gestation diabetes as well as a larger person it isn't about the weight but the nutritional habits and genetics etc.
They usually check the blood pressure to spot for signs of things like Toxiema. If you are prone to have a little higer than normal blood pressure you may wanna go ahead and find a replacement for salt. Watch sauces( ketchup, steak sauce etc.) and the likes as well they contain lots of sodium.

Thanks for all your comments!
Tomorrow is my midwife appt and I am very excited :)
I began 11 weeks today and my hormones seem to be balancing out. I still get a little sick here and there, but it seems to have calmed down.
I am in the process of coming down with a cold, again, after last month I had a nasty one. I am prone to colds, so that kinda sucks..
Peeing is still a factor, an annoying one.. Argh. But its all good.
Lately it seems like whenever I over do things, like walking uphill, or chasing and playing around with the cats, etc -- I get really tired quickly, I get nausia and I am out of breath... Is that normal?
Other than that, things are pretty allrighty.
My mom is definitly coming in August, when the baby comes, I am looking forward to that!

it's normal to get tired fast when you're pregnant. that and the nausea will get better by and by. even the frequent pee breaks will improve for a while. then that comes back later on.

So I went to the midwife yesterday, I actually lost weight LOL and my blood pressure is fine. All tests done last visit are normal and all is good!
WE GOT TO HEAR THE HEARTBEAT! Which was great, as I've described on this thread: http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=149860
Other than that, I've told her about my mom's diabetes issue during both her pregnancies, and she noted that. For now, I am not in a high risk, they will conduct proper tests when its possible to see if I have it too or not.
They also took 5 vials of my blood LOL Tested HIV, Hepitites, regular pregnancy stuff, blood cell count, and also Tyzec (I dont know if thats the way to spell it) disease, which is the Eastern European (Ashkenaz) Jewish genetic disease. Its pretty rare. My dad got tested when my mom was pregnant with me and he came back negative, so I am most likely not a carrier either, but I chose to have that test done just in case.
It was a shorter visit, but much more exciting! LOL I got to hear that all my test results are normal at this point in time, blood pressure is good, hormones are good, and baby's heartbeat is strong and healthy! We have a little drummer in there :D
It kinda made things more real for me. Yes, I've had some symptoms, and my belly is slightly bigger than normal (even though I did not gain any weight! LOL), but hearing that little heartbeat made things real, like -- I REALLY DO HAVE A BABY INSIDE ME!
I didnt cry, but I was excited and emotional and kinda shocked. My husband felt the same as well. It was very cool. Now I am anxiously waiting for the ultrasound, in 2 months :D
So, so far so good!
And on a hush-hush note.... I *think* my morning sickness is getting better... In the past two days I didnt feel as awful as I would first thing in the morning... Shhhhh... Dont tell morning sickness I said that!
Peeing is still an issue, as always... Tiredness comes and goes.
That is about it, though.
Getting ready to go into the 2nd trimester in a couple of weeks and start seeing my belly grow!

Enjoy the second trimester. It's the easiest! LOL The first one is the body adjusting to hormones and the last one is the body preparing for birth. #2 is by far the easiest of them. Just coast through it and get ready for #3! :hugz:

Heheh! Oh, I plan on it!
I help teach Hebrew at the local synagogue here, and luckily, the school year ends around the end of May, so I'll have the last months of my pregnancy to spend at home and relax and prepare.
I am excited, though!

So today is Imbolc (well, it kinda started yesterday, but I was busy in the morning and then feeling a little tired and drained in the afternoon and evening), and I have decided to do a little spring cleaning in our room (because it NEEDS it...), including laundry and sweeping and trying to de-clutter as much as possible.
Then I will do a small ritual for Brigid, who is one of my Patron Goddesses and Saints. I plan on offering her milk and cookies (mmmm, chocolate girlscout cookies...), and possibly a few blueberry muffins. I am going to pray and ask her to give me a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby, and request her assistance through the birth, in August.
I plan on getting a Saint Brigid medallion and prayer card, and I think I will dedicate one of my Rosaries to her today. I want to take those with me to the hospital when I give birth.
Brigid is the Goddess of healing, and in her Saint persona, she is Patron of babies and midwives. The Irish Catholic lore tells that she was Mary's midwife.
I am excited about today! Yay!

<whispering> glad to hear the ms might be settling!:)
For tiredness, my naturopath told me to make sure I eat a good breakfast with protein, and to take a liquid iron supplement like Floradix, and I also swig on chlorophyll.

I'm so glad the morning sickness is lessening. The "middle" part of the pregnancy for me was the best time. Enjoy it love!

So things are good so far... I had a 2 day migraine, but I toughed it out and it is officially gone today -- WooHOoo!
Morning sickness is almost completely gone, thankfully!
I have more energy too, I noticed.
The one new thing is my belly growing, and the feeling of more urgency and pressure when I have to pee. I've also been feeling some streching and twiching in my lower abdomen, my utures is obviously growing and growing!
Its very interesting!
There is some stress right now, so I am trying not to let that effect me too much. I dont want for it to hurt the pregnancy or stress the baby.
I hope this stressful period will pass within a few weeks, so I am keeping a positive outlook.
Thats abou t it, I think.

FWIW, I read an article a while back about stress and pregnancy. Basically, a study was done that determined that stress is okay during pregnancy, and women that went through high levels of stress (marriage, divorce, moving, death in the family, etc.), actually had babies who developed faster, cognitively, after birth. So, stress can actually aid in brain development. :) So, that's one less thing for you to worry about.

Well, thats interesting! LOL
I just want to be as relaxed as possible and as positive as possible so things go good.
We are having some financial set backs, and its just a slow process, so being myself a natural worry-er, I tend to over think, dwell and plan... I know its only very temporary, so things WILL get better... Its just... BLAH!
