I'm looking for a spell to cast on items(preferably my sandalwood prayerbeads or iron ring) to make them bring luck. I would prefer any spells that don't need an athame or wand or candle(though I could use one if I have to) and won't need any kind of exotic herbs, cooking or otherwise. A bit much too ask I know, but I want to ask.

ps. is there a thread on how to enchant items? I could use that.

I can direct you to http://www.luckymojo.com
which is a site that has various types of free spells from a source that I consider reliable being( Cat Yronwode) You can look through her archives and see if anything there would suit you for imbuing and amulet for good luck.

thank you very much, I'll see if I can use any of them. Though looking at just the list, it seems they are more spells to draw good luck with money then just plain Good Luck.

Check out talismans and amulets.

*grimace* Never mind, I want a spell or ritual which will make something lucky, not browse a list of lucky amulets. I also don't want to click on a promising link and find that it leads to their catalogue so you can buy it, rather then a recipe on how to make.

I was reading your post and I had an idea... though it doesn't exactly fit your desire to enchant something you already have...

I'm assuming you are having bad luck, otherwise why would you want to bother with the status quo. So I think I have an idea that will both eliminate bad luck and wind up creating a lucky amulet.

You will need a coin of some sort, maybe an exotic one, or one with hole in it so it's easier to string on a necklace when you are done and won't look weird like a quarter would. Also you'll need something to string it on when you're done. In addition you will need various things that you will find on your own that will fill various needs.

Basically what I want you to do is to do lot's of bad stuff to the coin, symbolizing it taking all the "bad luck." Get it dirty, bury it, soak it in caramel, whatever. Do the absolute worst things you can think of to it over the course of thirteen days (provided thirteen is an unlucky number to you, if it isn't you can substitute any unlucky number). During these thirteen days make the coin's "luck" progressively worse so it picks up every little bit of bad luck from you, alternatively you may want to make each day less unlucky for the coin but I like the first option better.

After thirteen (or substituted number) days of unrelenting hell, reverse the process. Cleanse and purify it each day in whatever manner you see fit, ocean water baths (salt water baths maybe?), shampoo it, use bath salts, maybe incense if you want, feel free to do anything you feel will cleanse it. During this time of cleansing do nice things to it, anything, buy it chocolates, watch movies with it, whatever you think is lucky or pleasant or simply things you would like to happen to you. Do this over the course of seven days (again feel free to substitute your own favorite lucky number in instead). After the seventh day, in the morning (or whenever feels appropriate) string the coin on a necklace (don't drill holes in it at this point, it just wouldn't be very nice, instead drill all holes at the beginning) and begin wearing it and a new era of luck will enfold you.

Ok. That's it. Not too complicated, no particularly rare ingredients, no magical tools, and there is plenty of room for you to make this spell your own. So try it, you just might like it. Oh, and if you do give it a whirl, drop me a PM and let me know the results, good or ill. Thanks.

Ah! Thank you very much for you're help ^.^ I've decided to copy your suggested spell for myself. As a matter of fact I'm not having a run of bad luck, I just feel that it would be good to cast a spell on a piece of jewelry I wear everyday to make it lucky. I think I'll just abandon that for now though. *bow* Once again thank you for your help.

It's not a problem, actually to tell you the truth, I found it quite enjoyable to craft an entirely new spell. Just remember and shoot me a line with the results if you ever decide to use it.

If that is what you are looking for then all you have to do is find an appropiate oil for the kind of luck you are looking for like luck in general or business or gambling etc. Take the necklace and or ring and annoint it with oil and say something in your own words which makes it clear to the spiritual planes exactly why you are anointing this charm. You need not go into a lengthy poetic soliloquy, just a few well chosen words are all that you need. Some practioners like to incorporate Psalms or sacred poetry into a consecration and that is fine. It is really just a matter of Your personal taste.

Some general luck oils would be: Rosemary, Wisteria (just a few drops of these essential oils is all that would be needed), or comerical oils like: Ten Silvers, Success, Prosperity , Attraction, Crown of Success ,etc.
